Yes it is a high end store but if you are in the market for high end gear then you should go here before going to another high end retailer because you will get the same quality items but with impeccable customer service. They have a little coffee bar for the men or women who are waiting for their shopping partners to finish looking around w/ free m&m's and a TV to watch. Win win all around. I went to Mitchells yesterday and not one person came over to ask me if i needed help. They were to busy talking among each other.. This is not the first time this happened. They have an attitude which is not nice. When i go to the upscale stores in the Americana in Manhasset, they treat you like a person...no attitude and they are much more classier than you and know how treat people.... i will not be coming back any time soon, if ever. You need better salespeople who are not on their cell phones. read more

I purchased an item that was lost by UPS. This company still has not refunded me nor even replied to my email requesting my refund. I had to file a chargeback with my credit card. I can get better customer service spending $20 on Amazon than spending here. read more

Marsh's/Mitchells is a very interesting store. The Marsh family owned this store for years and sold the brand. On the building storefront still has the Marshs sign over the door. Walking inside is a high end, boutique menswear. Mitchells sells high end suits, high end jeans and high sweaters as well as ties, vests and other menswear accessories. I bought a tie here last year, it was an impluse expense since I rarely wear ties. I came in recently on a week night looking for sales.They had none. Nothing!? Not even summer stuff? It's come to the point, 15 years ago I would have been jazzed with this store. Now? There is Century 21, Bloomingdales Outlet, Nordstroms Rack, are you seeing where I'm going with this? I bought a pair of AG white summer jeans on line, they're being sold here at a full on retail price. They have brands like Vince, the same brand at the Outlets. Sorry, I know labels and I more importantly look for sales. No sale from me today Marsh's or Mitchells. You were my go to decades ago. Now? Paying full retail is like having a dial up modem. Marsh's/Mitchells as it's now called is a wonderful, specialized high line clothing and fashion shop for Mens and women's couture. I usually try to pick up a few shirts here and jeans here several times a year to compliment my daily wears. The clothing here is impeccable and the sales team are wonderfully talented at dressing you to look good, and not just to make a sale. They actually take time to make sure that what you are wearing looks correct for your body and is flattering as well. The prices are high, but sometimes it's worth it to splurge and get something that you will wear often and look good doing it. Great service, with zero pressure while you shop. I generally hate when people write reviews when they didn't buy anything, or even eat at the place they went to, and i'm now falling into that category. This place just ooozes money, haha. I'm in the market for a suit soon, was in the area, and went, let's take a look. Wow, great brands, great quality product, but not enough money in my wallet. I recently lost a lot of weight and need new dress clothes. I went into Marsh's with a bit of trepidation, knowing that it's very expensive, but I thought I would give it a shot. I told the salesman at the start that I needed 3 or 4 pair of pants and 6 dress shirts. I asked him if it would be realistic to buy that in Marsh's and stay within a $1,000 budget. He said no problem and mumbled something about discounts. He spent an hour with me trying on various things and then sent me to a cashier to pay. It came to nearly $1,900. I pointed out that that my budget was only $1,000. The salesman said that we would have to take some things out. I left buying 3 pair of pants and 4 shirts for $1,200. I was ready to just swallow it because they were really nice clothes, nicer than I've ever worn, but then I got home and found that 2 of the shirts that he didn't have me try on (saying "don't worry, they're from the same manufacturer as the ones you've tried on, they'll fit) were the wrong size - the sleeves were too long. I ended up returning everything for a refund. Lesson 1: If you have to ask how much something costs, you can't afford Marsh's. Lesson 2: If you can afford Marsh's, you can afford to go somewhere else where the sales people pay attention to sizes. Lesson 3: The only nice thing that came of this was that they didn't give me a hard time about my refund. read more

I few years ago I purchased a Canali Exclusive suit and have come to find out recently that when they altered the pants to take them in, they also removed excess fabric where they were taken in (waist and seat). At the time of purchase I was a runner and was skinny; now I do crossfit and need the pants taken out. Since the extra fabric was removed, they cannot be taken out enough. So, now I have a $2200 suit that I've worn a few times, and can no longer wear. Of course I am not happy with the customer service. Tailors that I've taken the suit to since say they would not remove the extra fabric for this reason. read more

I wanted to invest in an LBD for an event quickly approaching that weekend and was searching all over for a classic dress. After no luck at the usual department stores I called Mitchell's and reached Lisa who quickly texted me some photos of what they had in store. While the options were great, I found the one I liked the most on Mitchells.com. Lisa got it shipped from another store and had it delivered the very next day. They were even able to accommodate my request for tailoring with under 3 hours until my event, with Elsa doing a great job - it was even complementary which was a great bonus. Mary B. made me feel as if I was the only client in the store, which I was not, and that my concerns and desires were paramount above all else. The clothes are very expensive for my budget and the sales people are VERY pushy. I understand you work on commission, but LEAVE ME ALONE I WANT TO SHOP! I went in there once dressed well and they will try and take good care of you, but when i went there a little dishevled, i felt like they almost wanted me to leave. Just because I don't look like a million dollars doesn't mean you should treat me that way. So now I take my business elsewhere. read more
