I initially got estimates from 3 places before settling with Ken Lamb Tree Services, and my…read moreintuition told me not to go with him... but they were the cheapest, so I did it anyway. I needed several trees removed from my property, and I was told it would take two weeks. Unfortunately it ended up taking just over FOUR weeks! I never knew when the crew was going to show up for the day, which was actually a pretty big deal (not to mention a major inconvenience) because I have significantly moderate ptsd, and when people just randomly show up at my house/on my property, I can actually get wildly triggered. I had asked, very nicely, and explained in detail, why I was requesting, to be informed via call or text whenever the crew was on their way for the day, if wasn't going to be the same time every day. It wasn't, and they didn't. I'm also fairly certain that Ken, the owner, is a narcissist. I'm no psychiatrist, but every time I spoke with him over the 4 weeks of dealing with him, he refused to take ANY accountability, shifted ALL blame to literally anyone but himself, but then when the job was completed took all the credit, and whenever I took issue with something, he literally tried to gaslight me!!! Would absolutely NOT recommend! Never. Again!

I researched multiple companies in Fredericksburg and ended up speaking with 7 of them. 5 different companies came out to give me a quote. Every single one of them said it would take a day maybe more and that we had no space in our yard to work so the fee would be even higher because of this. That is until I spoke with Jason. He beat everyone else's quote and was confident his crew could get it done in half a day. We set up an appointment and everything was ready to go.... and then at the very last minute my neighbor backed out of our agreement! She said she could get the job done cheaper. I assured her I didn't think she'd be able to beat his quote but she assured me she "had a guy" and I was forced to cancel our appointment. It was SO EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING!!! Jason was very patient and understanding though all the drama. In the end her guys was a total scam... he'd given her an initial quote then came out to do the job and told her it was going to be TWICE as much as BRTE had quoted!!! My neighbor felt really bad about everything and asked me to please call Jason back. Amazingly Jason was still able to fit us in the same day. BRTE did everything they said they did and more. Three guys whipped that tree into shape like it was a piece of cake! I was extremely impressed with how they lowered the huge branches with such precision in such a narrow space. The space every other company said was almost unworkable. I was sure my garden would take a hit but not a single tomato plant was harmed and our shed wasn't even touched! We were literally cheering the guys on with every successful drop! These guys are BADASS and I have already recommended them to several people. I will absolutely use them again! And our tree.... I hired Yee-Yee despite the fact they were actually higher in their estimate than the competitor; with their past experience, they convinced me that they could do the job well. They trimmed my flowers and brought in mulch to spread. They thoroughly cleaned up the total work areas neatly. The only downside was that they accidentally hewed down my beautiful lavender plant, which I replaced with catmint. That said, I was thoroughly pleased with their work; though not gardeners by profession, they did a highly remarkable job, and I would definitely rehire!
