Working with Billy, the owner, was a complete turnaround. We were looking for a full home renovation, and during the initial site visit, Billy took the time to understand exactly what we were looking for and walked us through major choices, such as whether to keep the same footprint or expand the home. Throughout the process, he also presented the many smaller decisions, such as flooring, tiles, and cabinetry, in a way that made each decision more digestible. Once walls, plumbing, and the roof were opened up, there were some unforeseen discoveries that pushed our cost above the initial estimate. Billy had warned us this might happen initially, and we appreciated his transparency about each issue as it came up. One of the things that stood out the most was the honest and frequent communication throughout the entire process. Billy works closely with a number of trusted tradesmen across different specialties, which we believe helped keep the project moving efficiently. Throughout construction, we thought Billy was very fair about not charging us more when he didn't have to. They fail to disclose that they may use liner segments during chimney liner installation and do not inform customers that there is no warranty on labor if their installation fails. Evidence suggests they likely damaged the liner during a standard 25' installation and then concealed this by using segments and a coupler that ultimately failed. Their subsequent response, claiming that a visible gap in the liner does not constitute a failure, reflects negligence given the inherent fire risk. This information is intended to help the community encourage Jamison to improve transparency so future customers are not burdened with thousands of dollars in corrective repairs. When we were choosing a contractor, Mr. Contractor's Yelp rating gave me some hesitation - especially given the high ratings elsewhere. But when I read the reviews themselves rather than just looking at the overall rating, many of the complaints seemed to involve relatively small jobs. We needed someone for a large, complicated renovation of a very old house, and the experience and capabilities Ken demonstrated seemed much better suited to that kind of project. Having now completed the job, I'm very glad we made that distinction. This was a big project, and our old house threw plenty of surprises at us. Once the demo began, our engineer found that part of the kitchen needed to be structurally rebuilt from the foundation up. That meant coordinating with our architect and structural engineer and substantially expanded the work. Despite that and the many twists and turns that followed, Ken and his crew kept things moving and completed an extraordinary amount of work in just 10 weeks. What really stood out was the crew. These guys were craftsmen who took genuine pride in what they were building. More than once, they spent extra time on something simply to get the finished result just right or recommended enhancements that were not charged. A friend who is a high-end interior designer saw the kitchen afterward and was impressed by the quality of the construction and attention to detail. We also lived in the house throughout the renovation. The crew was friendly and respectful, and they cleaned up the work areas at the end of every day -- something we came to appreciate enormously during 10 weeks of construction. Was every little detail perfect the first time? No. But that's actually part of why I'm comfortable giving Ken five stars. When something wasn't right, he worked to make it right. He and his team stayed engaged through the end of the project, addressed our punch-list items, and have continued to stand behind their work afterward. And we LOVE the result. The kitchen has completely changed the way we live in the house. It has become the place where our family naturally gathers, and it's as comfortable and functional to cook in as it is beautiful. The new bathroom has been equally transformative. At the beginning, I worried that we might be spending too much on the project - and it was significant. But by the end, having seen the amount of work involved and the quality and care that went into it, I felt exactly the opposite: we received very good value for our money. My takeaway is that Ken's particular strength is a substantial, complex project where you need an experienced GC who can keep multiple trades moving, deal with unexpected conditions, solve problems as they arise, and see the whole thing through. Renovating a 130-year-old house isn't easy, and I'd much rather have a contractor who knows how to deal with the inevitable problems and stands behind the finished product. We'd happily hire Ken and Mr. Contractor again.

We liked the complete service package which means that if they find wood rot in the window frames before replacing they will perform all the necessary work to make the frames suitable for install. The salesman who came to our home was quite pleasant and does not work on commission. The other companies we spoke to would not do that but would stop work until we took care of the identified issue. Our install was pushed back due to the weather by two weeks. We have had a terribly wet spring early summer here. On 6/30 Igor the foreman arrived and began work with 2 technicians. One of the windows was not properly measured and ordered so he called his home base and they ordered another correctly sized window. It will not be installed now but when it comes in they will call us and schedule the install. 2-3 weeks. Not good. It is a double window at the back of the house. All other measurements were perfect. One unexpected benefit was we did not need to remove our living room blinds. Total cost for 18 windows $39,895. We have 24 windows but are not replacing our garage or basement windows at this time. They work fine. Should be a 2-3 day job. The crew is diligent, careful and clean. The job was finished with walk through and window demonstration on the second day. We needed framing, sheetrock, electrical, trim and closets built. Joe was way more responsive than all other contractors and was very reasonable with costs. The price was exactly what he quoted us. (Another contractor was supposed to start before we found Joe and completely ghosted us around the start date.) Lou was the main guy who was here several days and he was great. We felt totally comfortable with him in our home. Our 4 year old son kept asking where Lou was after the project was completed. Lou worked around us when it came to hours that worked best for our family. Our kids love their bedrooms. And our 4 year old son finally sleeps in his own bed. We will be calling Joe when we are ready to remodel our kitchen and bathrooms.

DISASTER. Turn and run. We hired Joe for a large 203K project. We had problems from the very…read morebeginning: he was slow to start, kept changing his mind about the game plan, complained about the fact that he could get no money up front--terms of the 203K that he had of course agreed to--and pressured us to give him significant up-front money to "help him start". He instructed me in June of 2024 to rush to buy materials for a small bathroom that was still mostly unfinished in April of 2025; that kind of thing happened multiple times. His workers were inadequately supervised, and he was difficult to reach, often saying things like I'm at a kid's soccer game, out to dinner with my daughter, etc. The way that 203K's work is that HUD inspectors come out at regular intervals to make sure that adequate work has been done to make a draw from the total budget. Joe did a bunch of stuff merely to look busy to justify the first draw, in August: a slap-dash exterior paint job over crumbling paint that made a mess and did not hold, for instance. Between the first and the second draw, there was slow but meaningful progress--but by then we were 5 months into a job that we were told would take 4-6 months, and nowhere near done. During much of that 3-month interval he had just one guy working on our huge project, an electrician. After the second draw, in late November, he basically just stopped working on the house. We were making double housing payments the whole time, of course, so we panicked. We were almost out of money. After numerous calls and messages failed to get him to pick up the pace, at the urging of our lender, we scheduled a third draw, 3 months after the second one. At that draw, the HUD inspector certified that no work had been done, so no funds would be paid out. That's when we finally worked up the nerve to fire him. It was terrifying, because our lender told us that we would have trouble getting anyone to take on such a large project with only what was left in the budget after Joe depleted it. By the grace of God, we did find one. He swept in and got the job done in about 4 months. We finally moved in almost exactly one year after closing. Of course we had two mortgage payments the whole time. The work could have been finished within 6 months, or close to it, if we had found a great contractor like the one we found after we fired Mr. Depiano. Working with Mr. Depiano was harrowing. We were newbs at this, and therefore easy to fool. DON'T MAKE OUR MISTAKE.
