From the first day to the last Richard, Jason, and Jessica gave us frequent updates for what to expect, supply delays (these were not their fault but the result of Covid delays nationwide), and crew schedules. And then we were assigned the most amazing crew of guys we could have ever hoped for. John and Dennis were our regulars but a few others joined from time to time and they were absolutely lovely to work with! I have a two year old son who at first was terrified by all the new sounds so I took him outside so he could see the men working. They all stopped what they were doing to reassure my kiddo that everything was okay, they showed him their tools, and even a few magic tricks. And every day they made sure that my son smiled and laughed. And their work ethic was amazing! They worked despite some really nasty weather days and always made sure we knew exactly what they were going to do each day and what to expect the next day. And then there were the subcontractors who were also all equally incredible from the guys who repaired the gutters, to the roofers, and the dry waller who made our damaged walls look brand new. Our house is 20+ years old and now looks nearly brand new! Our sun room now has two brand new skylights (one even opens!) and a large sliding glass door, and our bathroom now has a brand new modern window (the old one was this weird window skylight combo that acted like a waterfall whenever it rained) not to mention dozens of smaller improvements all over the house. We thought it was the pipe upon further inspection we saw it was the actual sink ( stainless steel), it seems while installing it they cracked it and instead of getting a new sink that I paid for, the workers patched it. It is so stuck that instead of being able to unhook and release it, we tried to dissolve glue with everything we could find, now unfortunately, we are going to have to break the stone to be able to change out the sink. I am a long-time DIYer that rarely pays for something I can do myself. My interests run from…read moreengine repair to carpentry and while I am not an expert at everything I do, I generally do an excellent job. I recently had knee surgery and cannot climb ladders until my knee recovers. As life sometimes goes (luck/karma/divine intervention...), my home developed a water leak up towards the second story where the chimney and overhang meet. The roof has a 10/12 pitch and the last roofer did not put in the proper flashing to keep the water properly diverted (I knew I should have roofed it myself, lol). The previous storm brought lots of water into the area and the water leak developed into a major leak that entered my home between the sub-flooring and hardwood. The floor damage was sudden and quite extensive. I urgently needed immediate repairs to my roof and siding to stop the leak. I was unsure if I could get a solid professional to come to my aid and I needed someone I could trust and one that wouldn't take advantage of my dilemma. I also needed someone that would complete the type of work I demand-a tall order to say the least. That is where FB friends and Sound Siding enter into the picture. The first recommendation we received did not pan out. To be honest, it was weird. My original focus was on hiring a handyman as they are willing to do small jobs. I do not want to bash the individual but he seemed to typify what my worst fears are about contractors-flaky at best. Next, I remembered a previous acquaintance that owned a siding company that does residential and commercial work. I had a very high opinion of his honesty and work ethic. My only question was his availability and was the job too small. I gave the owner a call and explained my dilemma. He offered to meet me the next day. So far so good. Upon his arrival, we reviewed the situation and he offered to do the job-much to my relief. He had two individuals show up and start that very day. He was able to add another for the next two days and the job was rapidly completed. Their work was/is top-notch and I am in full agreement with what they needed to do to complete the job properly. Some carpentry dry-rot and roofing repairs, in addition to siding, needed to be completed. All done to my satisfaction, in record time and at a reasonable price. I could not have asked for better. His crews were very courteous and professional. They also did an excellent job of cleaning up the debris before they left. I would definitely hire them again.
