Fries were ok I guess, hard to mess up fries. The cheese on this "sandwich" was not a positive addition. Need GF options on the menu.

Apparently this place was THE place in generations past. I met up with an older acquaintance of mine who had been talking this place up and wanted me to try it out. I can tell the establishment's heyday has come and gone. There's nothing special here. The interior is pretty run down, and it seems they keep it dark to try to disguise that fact. If they have the opportunity to invest in some renovations and better lighting, the payoff would be well worth it. Ordered a prime rib sandwich with no bun, because they don't have much of anything to accommodate gluten free dietary needs. The cheese on the prime rib did it no favors, it was kind of congealed and just not a great flavor, didn't complement the meat at all, it would have been much better without. Service was fine, nothing amazing. I might give this place another chance sometime in the future, but I'm not in any rush when there are much better options in town.

Complete disappointment. Ordered the 20oz "Chef Special" ribeye and ended up with a grisly fat hunk of steak that was not edible. Showed it to the waitress who apologized but did nothing. I asked her to take it away as I couldn't eat a single bite without being disgusted by how awful it was. Asked her to show it to the manager and she came back saying the chef looked at it and said "that's normal for a ribeye". The once great Mistys has lost the right to call themselves a steakhouse after having the balls to serve this poor of quality cut of meat.

    Worst shrimp cargot ever

Wow.... Most disappointing meal I have had in a long time. Restaurant was nearly empty but it took 25 minutes to get the appetizer. It was supposed to be shrimp cargot but it was brought out not hot with visible cheese slices on the top (did not even eat it after first bite). The prime rib was flavorless with no au jus or horseradish. The mushrooms were soggy and terrible. The baked potato (loaded) was dry and inedible. Chicken piccata was just awful and tasted of bottled lemon juice and mediocre quality chicken. What a sad state of affairs at this place. They are celebrating 60 years. I have no idea how they made it this long.

Overflowing with character! Loved the location, the ambience, the whole experience. Server was awesome and food was excellent. Highly recommend you check this place out and enjoy yourself in the process. It's a little pricey but it's a Steakhouse after all. I would go back if ever we are in the area.

Don't know why people like this place. Average at best. Claim to fame is prime rib, edible but not outstanding.

Every visit seems to create another unforgettable memory. One of my clients' families especially loved kids' night, and it turned into such a fun and memorable experience for them. As for my own family, we've learned to schedule later dinner reservations because once we're there, it's hard to leave! Some of my sweetest memories are from bringing my mother here while she was still with us. We often ended up being the last ones there at closing because we were enjoying ourselves so much. Kevin and his staff were always incredibly gracious, never making us feel rushed, and consistently treating us like family. That kindness leaves a lasting impression. Reading some of the less-than-positive reviews honestly surprises me because our experience over the years has been consistently wonderful. We've always received excellent service, enjoyed the entertainment, appreciated the comfortable atmosphere and beautiful views from every table, and loved the nostalgia throughout the restaurant and memorabilia. And the food? Absolutely enjoyable every time. Considering the unique experience, atmosphere, entertainment, and very reasonable pricing, I think expectations should be balanced accordingly. Personally, I genuinely enjoy the food here -- often more than at many other restaurants in town. This place is special, and we will continue making memories here for years to come.

March 2026 Lincoln,…read moreNebraska Many sites on the Internet, including Yelp, said this was a good place to go to for food and entertainment. It is 6 o'clock on a Tuesday night and it is my table and one other in the restaurant. The floor is carpeted and there are booths along the wall as well as many tables 6 top and four tops. The silverware is located in a cigar box on the table. The menu is viewed by scanning a QR code. You may ask for a paper menu as well. We ordered 6 wings half with barbecue sauce and half with Annie B's sauce. Annie B's sauce is a combination of honey mustard and barbecue sauce. We also ordered the Haystack barbecue chicken sandwich to share. It comes with fries. You're able to substitute it for mashed potatoes, green beans or you can get salad bar, or you may get mac & cheese. Not sure if the last two are an up charge or not The servers periodically get up on stage and sing. They will take requests. The barbecue wings are very good. They are double fried which gives a crisp outside skin. Comes with three celery sticks. The blue cheese and the ranch dressing are very thin. Very runny. Not much flavor to the salad dressing. Chicken sandwich is a very thin piece of chicken. I think it has too much barbecue sauce. I do like the smoked Gouda on it. However, the sandwich was cold. It should be a hot sandwich and it would get a much higher rating if it were served hot. The french fries are a thick cut curly fry. They have great flavor and great crunch. It's nice to bite into a fry and feel the meat of the potato. The wait staff is kind and they all help each other. They take turns going up and singing. It could be a request or something they choose. Oddly enough, the four songs that we recommended they knew none. So we told them to pick some thing of their own liking. Overall, the food was much better than I anticipated. Out of five stars, I would give the wings five stars but the chicken sandwich would be a 3 1/2, because it was served cold and the chicken was thin and dry. The french fries were a five. Service was definitely a five. The staff is very friendly. This would be a fun place to visit with people from out of town. It is unique to the area and the food overall was worth going back for.
