Billy, one of the owners, came out for an estimate and was an absolute pleasure to work with. He asked a lot of good questions and clearly took me through what they would be doing. The estimate came back a few days later, and I was impressed by how well organized it was; everything was itemized down to the dollar for each specific job of my giant basement-finishing project. It ended up being a much bigger project than anticipated only because I don't know a thing about breaking up my concrete floor to run drains for a new full bath. We've decided to postpone the project for now, but I will definitely be calling Billy back when we are ready to move forward! read more

BEWARE - DO NOT USE. They did not complete the quoted work, lied to my face about the repair, and then were rude and dismissive when confronted. I hired Mister Fix-it to build supports for a joist that was sagging. Their quote included building up from the ground to support the joist. The technician did not complete the support wall. When I had him come back out to finish the work (which had been quoted and paid for), he told me there was another board I couldn't see, resting on the foundation, so a wall wasn't needed. I asked a number of follow up questions to make sure I understood. Based on that, I didn't insist on the support wall. Today I examined it and determined that there is no second board. He lied about something he hoped I wouldn't be able to see, to get out of work I paid for. I called and spoke to Jerry, who runs the company. He did offer to have a different person come complete the work, but he was dismissive and told me to "settle down" and "calm down". They have not offered any kind of compensation for the fact that failed to do the work, lied, and will need yet another appointment to complete it (if they even do that). TRUST THE BAD REVIEWS!!! Do not go to them for service! I bought a new home and the previous owners had to get something fixed before closing. They paid, and mr.fixit never came. So after I moved in, I contacted them to make the repair. They make an appointment three times and cancelled each time. The day they finally came they were still late! They are the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. They do not communicate and will give any excuse as to why they cannot make the appointment. First they did not communicate with me. I was told all the repairs were completed and they were not- things were still broken or not completed in the manner agreed upon. They left wire cuttings everywhere and when I mentioned it they said I was lying because that was not possible. They said their lack of communication over the course of 6 days was because they took one day off. They were rude and snarky and would not make things right until I filed a BBB complaint against their company. Even after I filed a BBB complaint the partial refund I was promised was not issued. It has been 31 days and I still have seen no check. I would strongly advise against using Mr. Fix It. They are dishonest and they will take advantage. I called Mr. Fix-It for a broken porch light needing fixing. They were very quick to send someone to survey the work and provide an estimate, but then things fell apart from there... No one ever answers their office phone number during business hours... Whether you call a minute after their office hours begin at 8am or any other time of the day... no answer. Finally, after getting an appointment scheduled through countless voicemails back and forth, I took off work for a morning visit that never happened. They told me someone called in sick, which I understand happens and is a fact of life, but if I hadn't pestered them a ton I don't believe I would have ever received a call or notice. I had to hunt them down to find out what happened with our appointment. So "sick days" and call-in's happen, so I hoped for the best and was able to reschedule for a few weeks later at the same time today. Today, no one showed up again and I have called the office twice (8:01am and 8:10am) and no one is there to pick up the phone. Two no-call, no-shows for appointments, and no way to reach their office manager. Something is seriously wrong with this company, and they treat their clients very poorly. Unless you want to waste a lot of your time... miss work waiting around for them to not show up, waste time during your work day trying hard to reach someone by phone, do NOT call or try to use this company. read more

About 2 months ago I contacted their office to get a "Free Estimate", they came out talked to my husband, it was Billy Dawson, nice person, gave estimate.. ONLY A estimator, and a Managing Partner. Web site looks decent, reviews ok, although they do NOT have dates on any of the reviews ( What are you hiding Jerry- bad reviews or OLD Reviews) and it is hard to believe they were "actual" customers. More likely people they know that wrote it. This is the First time I used this company and will be last. I scheduled the work over a month ago and explained why I needed it done early and what my situation was , they said no problem , so I scheduled it for today on the 22nd. 7 am (Early) and they needed to be completed by 1 because I had to take my mother to Surgery. First thing wrong: (should of been a RED Flag) Jerry Nevins calls me on the 9th of September telling me that his guys are scheduled to be there on Sept 10th and are running late but they should be there by 10am. I contacted the office spoke to Sue, told her he has dates wrong because I scheduled with her a month ago it was on the 22nd. She said sorry, noone will show up. I had to take the time to correct them, they ( Jerry Nevins ) had NO Clue what he was doing.. Then finally today is here.. the 22nd.. well they are scheduled for 7am.. NOONE WAS HERE..NO PHONE CALL , NOTHING.... I had already completed 2 tasks of my day and nothing.. I have alot going on like most, time is important. This company does NOT think so. So it goes on to 8am, Finally someone appears and he is in a regular red truck, NO Company Logo, looks like someone that does side jobs, not professional at all. He gets out of his truck and walks into backyard, NEVER knocks on door or anything.. he looks over the deck for 10 minutes and then leaves his tools and takes off in his truck.. HE DOESN'T SAY WHERE HE IS GOING, WHAT HE IS DOING, NOTHING.. SO I contact the office, YEAH I am pissed! I asked what is going on? He is gone ? He was supposed to be there at 7 am, now it is 8:30 am and nothing is going on and he is now gone , but his tools are here? where is he? They gave me a Free Estimate , had all what they were planning on doing for what? so he could arrive Late and not Prepared with NO Supplies????? So I told her , Word of mouth and for me to want to give them a recommendation I don't think so. I was like what is the purpose of the "Estimate" if he has NO supplies??? Then she says the guy is human he probably just forgot something small? WTF? It is now going on 9:15 am.. ( 2hrs and 15 min behind schedule).... Then I get a phone call from Sue at Mr. Fix it, she says hold on, Jerry Nevins answers the phone ( The OWNER).. he says to me ,"Listen, I DON'T want to deal with YOU ALL DAY harrassing my people and if YOU DON'T LIKE IT , I WOULD BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO GIVE YOU YOUR MONEY BACK AND YOU CAN GO FIND SOMEONE ELSE TO DO THE WORK FOR YOU!" Remember: This is the OWNER of the company, I said , " excuse me , but what is the purpose of the estimate if they are NOT prepared? He said he is human he forgot things and he will do his best to get it done..but if you want to find someone else , I would be HAPPY to GIVE you your money back and you can find someone else. He then says abruptly :" WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO?" , I said , can you call your guy or what ? he said , "WHY it won't make it go ANY FASTER THAN IT IS NOW?" , I told him , "I took off work to be here to get this done, your guy is BEHIND Schedule by 2.5 HOURS NOW, HE WAS LATE , NOT PREPARED, AND ALL YOU CAN SAY IS SORRY AND THAT I CAN GO FIND SOMEONE ELSE IF I DON'T LIKE IT?" He said tell me what you want to do.. I said we will see if he shows up i guess, then we hung up .. I got to thinking about it, made me so UPSET, I couldn't believe how UNPROFESSIONAL HE was , rude, didn't care, just an Ahole.. What a horrible experience.. another thing that was said before they got there was I was one of the only paying customers and they try to get work done faster on the ones that pay. Another red flag.. He didn't care that they were late (Unreliable), didn't care that they had NO SUPPLIES (Went to Home Depot and he literally had wood on his truck from what he bought) his personal truck, no company logos. They didn't call , didn't care, didn't seem to understand why I was even upset. So with that I contacted another company that a friend of mine uses and got them to come to my home. Unfortunately, we found Mister Fix it as we're getting ready to move out of state! I definitely would've been using them for the past 20+ years for all those little annoying fix it projects. They were recommended to repair all the items on our house inspection. They came out first and estimated everything. I liked that because it gave me the chance to accept or decline each little job on the list. Then Marshall came out to do all the repairs and he was beyond amazing! That man worked was one of the hardest workers I've ever seen. He even 'found' something that needed to be fixed but wasn't on the 'official list'...and he fixed it anyway! I hired Mister Fix-It to perform drywall ceiling repairs and to run a CAT6 cable from my upstairs office to the basement. I can honestly say I am very pleased with their services. From the moment I contacted Mister Fix-It, Jessica, the office manager, was very friendly and prompt to schedule an estimator the same day! Now, we are ALL worried about pricing, and I must say, their pricing is EXTREMELY reasonable and fair for the market industry. I am a property adjuster by day, and I deal with countless contractors and Xactimate pricing (industry standard software for estimating damages to residential dwellings). Their pricing was 100% in-line with my experience and expectations for patching a sheet of drywall, mudding, taping, and fishing wire through the drywall cavities. I went through 3 contractors before arriving at Mister Fix-It, and the last 3 were a waste of time, charging double to triple the cost of Mister Fix-It. When I confronted the contractors, I was riddled with B.S. about "invisible" costs...Get real! I am glad there is an honest and fair contractor in my area that employs competent laborers to perform the tasks I am paying them for. I will continue to use Mister Fix-It in the future. read more

We purchased a home where some work was paid for by the sellers. It was somewhat difficult to get ahold of mister fix it to get the appointment scheduled, and when I finally got ahold of them, they were scheduling a couple weeks out. Somewhat annoying, but not a big deal. They were supposed to come out Monday, it was put off til Tuesday because of weather, still not a big deal. They did not come Tuesday, no one called me. I tried to call, no answer, left a message.Someone showed up Wednesday, said he was told it was a one story house so he had to go get a bigger ladder. I said I had been trying to call with no luck, they guy laughed and said "good luck with that". Since I've been calling and leaving messages every day. Never get through, no calls back. The work is on the chimney so I have no idea if it's even been done or not. They know that I'm waiting to schedule the roofers and painters for this to be done. Still nothing. This is the worst business I have ever had the displeasure of working with. They left an electrical outlet open, a cutting tool in my toddler's tub, used my husband's ladder and while carrying this ladder scratched our truck! After we complained to the owner Billy he said he would "write his workers up." That does little to protect our son from electrical shock OR cutting his finger off!! We asked Billy about the scratches on our truck. He said, "I have good workers and I stand by my men." We beg to differ, good workers don't leave sharp tools in toddler's bath tubs and electrical outlets wide open for children (animals or anyone) to shock themselves on. It is far too coincidental that your 'good workers' made such mistakes (of which we have pictures), but did not scratch our truck. As if the above wasn't bad enough, we cancelled service on another project that was to be done by this office and were told we would get a refund. We have yet to get our over $800.00 refund!!! In today's world and economy that means a lot to a young family. So, essentially Mr. Fix-It stole from us! In summation, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! They will ruin your items and destroy your possessions!! I believe Mr. Fix-it gives a bad reputation to all Mr. Fix-It's out there!! They are completely unsafe, ignore basic insurance regulations, will try to kill your children and animals, and in truth... steal from you. We were selling our house so we decided to hire Mr. Fixit for some minor repairs and touch up painting. Upon quoting they did warn us that the touch up paint may not look original or correct. When they started the touch painting "anyone" once they saw how it looked after one or two areas would have stopped and ask the customer to review before continuing throughout the entire home. Basically they ruined the look of all the painted walls in the home; we sold our home only after we had to give the buyer a 4,000 discount to repaint the entire house. Last week Mr. Fixit told our realtor that they would contact us, no phone call after one week and the job still is not complete based on the original quote. I feel like I spent $2,000 for Mr. Fixit to help us sell our home and they ended up cost me an additional $4,000. Very unhappy customer and still no phone call or response. read more
