The prices are almost the same as my regular takeout place so I think I'll be switching (oh, and they will do deliver for you)! They have a fresh dumpling station so you can see them expertly making each dumpling with love and care. Love the pork belly sandwich as a hearty appetizer and the pan fried pork buns that melt in your mouth. I tried the braised beef noodle soup for the first time today and it was a huge bowl of yummy savory warmth on a cold winter's night. So much better than my usual go-to soups! This place has ruined xiao long bao for me! I can't go anywhere else because this place is so friggin' good. The soup dumpling skin is always paper thin but never breaks and the broth inside has a really nice, light flavor. I always get the regular pork soup dumplings, scallion pancake with sliced beef and the chicken Lo Mien. I seriously haven't gone to another place for soup dumplings in my area because none of them even come close to being as good as this place. read more

We loved the restaurant when they first opened but lately have been very disappointed. They still have great soup dumplings but last 3 deliveries had dishes that sounded good but always had something wrong with them. Scallops in a dish were tiny and dry-barely edible. Most of the asparagus in a beef stir fry dish were very tough end pieces that should have gone in the garbage at prep. They need better ingredients in my taste. Ordered takeout brought it home and there were bugs in our food not just one bug mind you bugs. Really gross stuff called them up to complain asked for a refund no response. I have heard a lot of good things about this place from some family members. Today I had a craving for Chinese food so naturally this where I headed. I was not overly impressed. My wife and I each ordered a soup, she got the wonton and I got the hot & sour, they were good but nothing to write home about. We also ordered the chicken lettuce wraps, fried dumplings, and the salt and pepper wings. The lettuce wraps were very good, the fried dumplings though lighter than normal were average, and salt and pepper wings were nothing more than fried chicken wings with little to no flavor. The waitress couldn't resolve it, so we asked the manager to come. After 20 min of waiting we were told, that manager is busy with other customers and can't come. I moved to Westchester 1 year ago from NYC. It was IMPOSSIBLE to find authentic Chinese food . My husband and I would drive all the way to Flushing or Chinatown to get good food. So when Mister Chen's opened, we gave it a try. The food was amazing. And the menu has something for everyone (they have a kids menu). I highly recommend the dumplings and buns (soup dumplings, turnip puff pastry, and fried pork bun). What I like most is that the food is not greasy (as Chinese food can be greasy) and you can tell that they use fresh ingredients. Mister Chen's is a modern take on a Chinese restaurant. It's not a typical "old school" Chinese restaurant - doesn't have teapots, dried noodles, or mustard/duck sauce when you arrive, but I personally prefer it as I never ate that stuff and it was always wasteful. Solid establishment, had a hunch that the owner is Taiwanese and indeed I was right. Decent food, particularly the Taiwanese cuisine which is prominently displayed on the store front. Hard to come by in Westchester but now I'm glad we don't need to trek all the way to Flushing for some decent Taiwanese food. Great decor as well. The one knock I'd say is that there was some sugar used in the three cup chicken which I understand caters to the Western palate but just makes it slightly less authentic. Incredible quality! I haven't had everything on the menu but the lo mein noodles are every bit as good as anywhere in the city. The scallion pancakes are delicious and not greasy. The general tsao's and sesame chicken are fantastic and not too heavy. The veggie sides are light garlic and delicious. And most importantly the soup dumplings. They are as good as Joe's Shanghai in the city and and they actually can travel for delivery/takeout. Soup dumplings are hard to find so Mister Chen would be worth it just for that but everything else is awesome as well. Five stars! read more

Tried this restaurant for the first time the other night. It was later in the night (around 8:30 PM on a Tuesday) and the place was pretty quiet. While the place was not very busy, we ended up being seated right next to another group of people which was a bit odd considering the amount of open tables. Their drink menu had a lot of fun items to try. I ordered a blueberry kiwi mojito but was notified that they had run out of fresh kiwi and the waiter suggested another drink. I ended up ordering another drink (I forget the name), but it was very good! We ordered some pork soup dumplings and steamed pork buns to start. The soup dumplings were so delicious! Very hot and perfect for colder weather. They had a great taste as well. The pork buns were different than one's I've tried before as they were more of a dumpling than a bun, but they were extremely tasty as well. On top of appetizers we also ordered a beef and broccoli entree as well as lo mein noodles. Both were great and had awesome flavors. The food was not greasy at all and everything was flavored well. My wife and I had the pleasure of eating here with family and friends and we were extremely pleased with the food and service throughout the evening. The xiaolongbao here are spectacular--handmade packets of soupy, flavorful goodness. We actually got a chance to see them being prepared by a sweet little Chinese grandmother, right in front of us. It was a unique experience overshadowed only by the quality of the dinner itself. I'm sorry if I'm going on and on about the dumplings at Mister Chen, but I've sampled xiaolongbao all over Asia and in Southern California, and these are among the best that I've ever had, hands down. When I called the 'nasty lady' at the restaurant told me not to have a 'fit'! When the food finally arrived, it was cold! This is the second time if my wife and I are going to this restaurant we decided to give it another try after the terrible service we had the first time well, nothing I changed! The appetizer came out pretty quick and they were very good DeAndre on the other hand can cold the mai fun noodles had nothing on them no source it was just cooked noodles with three pieces of chicken the string beans but not crunchy conflate valles to top that we were waiting for plates for 10 minutes we finally took him from the table next to us finally when the waiter came by we told them about the noodles he took him sprinkle some onion on top and brought him back in he said that they were too busy and that the manager is on vacation and there's nobody to talk to extremely disappointing poor food and very very poor service I'll never go there again read more

I am really glad I gave this place a try! Both times I went, it was packed, but staff was really nice and efficient. I got the sesame chicken which was really delicious! Sometimes sesame chicken can be really heavy and rich, and this one had the perfect balance. The chicken pad thai was also really delicious -- I like how they brought sriracha on the side! The staff was great and attentive. They give you a big thing of water so that you don't have to keep asking for water. It's great watching them create the dumplings as well! We had a great time today . I had the Dan Dan noodles and it was absolutely flavorful . Even the fried rice you could taste had the effort put into it. The food simply tastes authentic and fresh . My wife had the scallion pancake and dumplings and I tasted both which also satisfied. You could tell that the chef knows his stuff. I am new to the area but this is one of the better Chinese restaurants that I've been to in my life. The Soup Dumplings are easily 5 star. The Peking Style pork ribs were good but with so many options on the menu, I will likely try something else next time. The portion size for the pork rib dish was almost enough to feed 2 people. Overall, the food was great and the servers were very nice, but due to how crowded it was when we went, the service was a bit on the slow side. Xiaolongbao was really juicy! I think their regular pork one is better than Joe's Shanghai. Crab one I like Joe's better. Tried pan fried pork buns and also pork belly sandwich. Pork belly sandwich has good flavor though I wished buns to be a bit more softer. Overall, a great new restaurant to add ethnically diverse food in Westchester. I do not need to go down to the city or cross bridges to eat xiaolongbao, that is a beautiful thing. Ordered 4 dishes and costed around $40 without tips. read more

This place does not have a parking lot. You have to park on the street and feed the meter so if you want to come here then bring quarters. We had the shredded turnip in puff pastry, noodles with pork in black bean sauce, and chicken and string beans lunch special. The shredded turnip in puff pastry was nice but not worth the price. It is expensive for the cheap ingredients needed to make it. Plus, it arrived after our entrees. The noodles with pork in black bean sauce was okay but the black bean sauce was very watery to where it was more like a broth than a sauce. I'm not exaggerating, I have been here 6 times since discovering it 2 weeks ago. It is that good. Their soup dumplings are incredible, and you can watch them make them while you eat.
