Went into Imua today (June 11, 2026) for lunch with my family of 5 hungry, was greeted by host…read moreJunior (Junya) with positive Maui vibes. We ordered the IMUA Mix Plate three choices: double poke (shoyu) and breaded teriyaki beef, Loco Moco, Chicken Katsu, & Kalua Poutine. Everything we tried was 'Ono (in Hawaiian means "delicious" or "tasty"). My wife and I were pleasantly surprised how good the breaded teriyaki beef tasted, highly recommended! All the kids liked a little bit of everything. Francesco (5) loved the Kalua Poutine and ate most of it. Kepha (6) ate a bit of everything and made sure there was no leftovers (mopped da plate clean). Lily (8) loved her loco moco and was told she had to share with here brothers, lol. Wife and I enjoyed the breaded teriyaki beef and the katsu. The Katsu sauce was just like the back home style/japanese style. I gotta admit looking at the poke I had my doubts, but after tasting it, "SHE GO" this poke would guarentee sellout back in Hawaii, the flavor of the poke is just like Hawaii but Imua's unique way. We also had 3 shave ice ube, mango, and blue vanilla, so far best shave ice I've tasted in the mainland. Imua's is authentic Local Style Hawaiian Food and the quality is undeniably top notch, this is the first restaurant in the mainland that I've been to where all of the food taste like back home (Hawai'i) and all the food taste good! There wasn't a dish where I was like only this one or these two taste good, noo, all the food tasted 'ONO, broke da mouth kine good food! If you missing the taste of the (Hawaiian) Island this is the place to go!

Amazing food and service. My family is from Hawai'i, and we can confirm the food is authentic local…read morefood!

I had asked for some ranch along with my sandwich, and she said she needed to get the other orders and she would come back. She never did. My Dad's friend ordered the chicken club without bacon. He received his sandwich and I thought he was eating healthy for a second and my dad commented that he thought he got a sandwich. My Dad's friend thought he did too, and I looked back at the menu and sure enough it does say it's supposed to come on a bun. There was no bun at all, but being older, he didn't want to send it back as we were already eating. We also observed the waitress, kind of put down another patrons, lunch plate, a little aggressively, and the patron was kind, but couldn't believe it. I have no idea if she was having a bad day so I can have Grace on that, but when you're in the public eye, Customer Service is scary much noted. My food was tasty. I would've loved to try their ranch with my onion rings, but she never came back to ask me that. We did hear a couple other of the patrons ask for mayonnaise and I don't know if they got that. We were there for a seminar, so we observed people in a small (there were 16 of us). I love the interior of Ernie's! It was my first time, so I was impressed by the decor and space. On our way out, there was a sign that said exit and it was the shortest way to the front door, but the same waitress told me to go all the way around. My elderly father has trouble walking so we took our time, and as soon as we made it to the front door, I witnessed a couple other people who were in our seminar go the way I had initially wanted to go, and no one told them otherwise. Overall, the food was good (my dad's friend would've liked it as a sandwich and not a "cut with fork and knife" situation) and the atmosphere was great, but the service was mid, at best.

Food was bland, but very expensive. Service was terrible. Party of 9. Auto- charged everyone 20%…read moregratuity. Threw all the bills in the middle of the table for us to sort. We'll only recommend to people I don't like.

The food was good and the ambience is good, but they weren't really good at refilling our drinksread more

We got right in and asked to be seated on the patio as the sun would be going down over the next hour. The patio is right up on the Snake River offering a great view for our dinner! Walking through the interior was also quite the visual feast...a handful of large rooms and a large bar with a bunch of motley decorations everywhere. The nicest looking room was a rotunda in the back but nobody was sitting in there...not sure if it's for private events only. The menu had a lot of choices...which in my years of dining usually means they offer quantity over quality. And that came to fruition as we received and ate our meals. I ordered the Hazel's Famous Fried Shrimp and my son got the Cod N Chips. These were the smallest shrimp I've ever seen in the restaurant...the broccoli dwarfed it! The breading was also awful as it was soggy and falling off the shrimp. If these are famous, I'd hate to see the shrimp that didn't get the part. My son said his cod was 'alright' but said the tartar sauce was the worst tartar sauce he's ever had. It looked like curdled 2% milk. The table we sat at on the patio was tiny and barely held the two dinner plates. The chairs were also cheap metal and my back and bottom were sore after an hour. At least our server was friendly...and when she asked 'how was your meal' when picking up our dishes, we said it wasn't great and she replied 'yeah...' and walked back inside. That was actually a pretty funny way to end the meal.

Let's set the stage first, please. I come from a German family. I spent 23 years in the Army …read more.. five of those in Germany. I love German food and I know what good German food is and how it's made. Enough of the full disclosure. We travel to the Lewis-and-Clark Valley several times a year. Historically, we've gone to long-time favorites. Until two days ago. We decided to get brave and try something different for a change and we went to Yelp for help. It took all of 30 seconds to stumble onto MATT'S! Now, we're SOOOOO glad we did. No, you won't be greeted at the door by the hausmeister or Die (pron. "dee") Herr Chef. The exterior trappings are unremarkable and you just might miss it so here's a little hint... go looking for the place that appears to be a former gas station/minimart... bingo, you found it!!! (you won't be sorry.) When you walk in, you'll immediately get the clear vibe that this is where the local folks in the know choose to go for great food at great prices! Great GERMAN food, to put a fine shine on it. Expect to find a full house, please be patient. Good things are worth the wait, right? YES, right! When Amber waves you over and says "I've got your table right over here"... your German food experience is about to begin. You're going to have more choices than you ought to have to make... it'll be fine (it's all FINE!) So, what starter to choose from? EZ-PZ ... the Swiss-style mushroom soup (you can thank me later.) What entree to try first? Are you kidding me? Of course you should have the ... jagerschnizel, wiener schnitzel, chicken schnitzel, sausage plate, or any of the other yummy listings on the menu. you just can't go wrong! Now, what to have with it? Well, a glass of Riesling always goes nicely with just about any German food, so, nuff sed about that. (When Amber pours a glass of wine for you, expect a full GLASS of wine!) But... as for what sides with your meal? Let me say this... I haven't had spaetzle (German style noodles) that good since the last time I was back in Nurnberg, Germany! The red cabbage and the warm Deutscher kartofel salat (German potato salad) is right out of Bavaria. My point is simple, you just can't go wrong here, whatever you choose. And before you leave? Oh, yeah... dessert comes with your meal. You'll get your choice of several kinds of strudel. When you get asked which one you want? It will be hard to resist simply saying YES! They are all delicious! If you missed the key hint up above, I'll repeat myself... you get the vibe when the local folks in the know are here on a random night in the middle of the week. They have to be doing something right. Nope. --- They're doing EVERYTHING right! Now get in gear, go see Amber, and enjoy the "super kuche" from an authentic GERMAN menu. Alles wer schmeckt, Herr Chef! Viehlen Danke! Oh, btw, we're already planning our next trip back to the L-C Valley and our next trip for more, so maybe we'll see you there!

I'm told, but wasn't allowed a taste, that the German Benedict was really, really good. Hash browns were freshly grated and you could taste the difference. The cinnamon roll was good, not quite as good as what I make, but still tasty. Our server could not have been kinder and for $40 with all of this plus drinks, it was a great deal.
