I've heard most times this recalibration is not needed, but if it turns out it IS needed, you'd have to take it somewhere else at a cost of $250-$700, or as much as $1,000 at a dealership! No thank you! Especially after the already expensive windshield! My tech was Kyle and, boy, was he sharp! When he arrived he told me it would take around an hour, I believe he finished the windshield installation, recalibration and cleanup in around 30 minutes - no small feat for my big Honda Odyssey on his own - and returned from the test drive in under 10 minutes. It was easy to pay with any type of credit card, even AmEx, and all told I think it was about 40 minutes. The owner, Steve, was a pleasure to talk to, as was Kyle, A couple of easygoing guys. I definitely made the right choice! And, if ever I have the need again, I will probably only be putting out a call for one quote ... from MasterTech.

The first appointment we had set to go to their location was cancelled due to the windshield not being in yet. It was super easy to reschedule and I opted for an at home appointment the second time. My family planned our entire day around this appointment, only to receive a call after the appointment window had already started informing me that it was being canceled. I understand that unforeseen issues can arise, but providing notice after the scheduled service window begins is unacceptable and shows a lack of respect for your customers' time. Had I been notified earlier, I could have adjusted my plans accordingly. Customer service is about communication and reliability. Unfortunately, this experience fell well short of expectations. I hope the company takes steps to improve scheduling and communication so other customers do not have to deal with the same frustration." If you'd like to put a little more pressure on them while still sounding professional, you could add: "As someone who manages customer relationships for a living, I know things don't always go as planned. What matters is proactive communication. Waiting until the appointment window has begun to cancel is simply not acceptable."

Pricing was reasonable too. I had a couple questions after the work, and the repairman did a good job giving me the needed information without making me feel bad about my questions. I left feeling like they were a reputable, reliable, trustworthy business. As a woman, that has not always been my experience in the auto industry. I believe they can come to you or you can stop by their shop with appointments either way. I made an appointment to stop by, because rainy weather was iffy - and they had a garage bay as back up. Parking is small, and the building is right on Tesson Ferry. There isn't an intersection light - just be safe pulling in and out of their lot with traffic. I called several companies, and while they weren't my first choice, they were the only one that could come out quickly. The technician arrived with the wrong piece of glass. The woman who ordered it claimed my VIN corresponded to a two-door version of my vehicle instead of the four-door model I own, which wasn't accurate. They had to reorder the correct glass and return a few days later. After the replacement, there was still a significant amount of shattered glass left inside the door, and I could hear it rattling every time I opened or closed it. I drove the car for about a month, then was out of the country for work for another month. After returning and driving it for several more weeks, the interior door handle suddenly stopped working, and I was unable to open the door from the inside (kind of important). I called J&M multiple times and left messages, but no one ever returned my calls. I ultimately took my car to a shop that specializes in my car's brand. They rolled their eyes and said that the guy was being lazy when he said he couldnt get the broken glass out of the door. They were able to get that out easily, and $200 later, they fixed the door so I could open it from the inside. Mistakes can happen, but what disappointed me most was the lack of follow-up and customer service when I tried to have the issue addressed.
