Sorry to report today. I had lunch today. I got the 5 bone baby back ribs. Had to be the worst I've had. They tasted like old rids to start and smoking didn't help We eaten here many times and we will be back. I ended up sick this morning with throwing up and sit on the toilet this morning I think I'm through it. Wow Update, the response from Mission bbq was awesome. While visiting my twin sister in Evansville, Indiana, she suggested we have lunch at Mission BBQ at 1530 N Green River Road. Mission BBQ is unique in its mission and as they state on their website under "Our Story", " We do what we do for the love of our soldiers, firefighters, police officers, first responders--all our loved ones in service." The key word that came to mind when I thought of writing this review was "options". As you'll see from the photos they have multiple options for pretty much everything: the BBQ meats or fish served as entrees or sandwiches, with lots of choices for meats, sides, salads and drinks but only one dessert. They also have an ice-filled cooler with lots of choice vintage soft drinks. We both had the pulled pork sandwich with sides of mac 'n' cheese, baked beans, green beans, French fries and cornbread . I had a vanilla Frostie root beer and she had water. The pork was tender and chewy in the best way and the sides were tasty; the green beans had onion and bacon and were served hot and the baked beans had pieces of meat that seemed like beef to me. Each table has a "6-pack" carton of BBQ sauces named from various cities known for their styles of sauce, more or less spicy, with vinegar or tomato and other flavors based on that city. We tried all of them several times and most had a flavor we liked. I look forward to trying Mission BBQ again the next time I'm in Evansville and highly recommend it to anyone who lives there or is passing through. Went back a second time in a visit to Evansville. This time I tried the Beef and the chicken. Did not disappoint! If you are fortunate to be there at noon, amazing moment! Wonderful to see Patriotism and bar b q go hand in hand, when all types of people can stop what they're doing and honor those that deserve the honor. Let me first start by just saying WOW!!! The food here was very tasty! They even gave me an extra side and desert for being a Veteran. My family and I ate here for a very reasonable price. Stopped by for a late lunch takeout and wanted to get enough for dinner, too. Ordered the pick two meets of pork and brisket. Comes with a slice of cornbread. Got mac n cheese, then green beans on adovce of the friendly staff. Food was ready quickly. Then also decided to get another side of the baked beans, too. Our party of 4 and an infant came in for early Saturday lunch. This was my second time dining at Mission. This chain-bbq restaurant is wildly popular on a very busy Evansville corner. Even with the place being 3/4 full, the parking is limited. You may have a bit of a hike to walk off your food!!!!! BONUS.... They do have a few reserved parking spots for veterans. The BBQ is tasty enough, portions are average, but it does get cold rather quickly. Sides are ok... green beans aren't seasoned enough for my taste. Fries are the shoestring variety. Baked beans are more vinegary than sweet and thick. They do give an exceptional variety of sauces right on your table, 6 to choose from. They do offer a free sandwich 2 times a year to veterans who sign-up for their email list... nice!!! At noon, they play the national anthem, and everybody stands up and sings along. If you like a big heavy dose of patriotism along with your brisket, then you'll love Mission BBQ. read more

First off I like to say we live out of state been a while since we have been there the first time we was there back a couple years ago it was pretty good don't remember but I didn't think we had plastic forks and plastic knives which is ridiculous my wife's food was much to it and I got pulled pork and it was just lukewarm and had some stuff in it that I didn't want to eat the side dishes was okay on scale one to five I would give it a two I think it's overpriced that's my opinion 2star read more

We love coming to Mission BBQ. We are always greeted warmly by the staff. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is absolutely heart warming! The Half chicken plate was perfectly cooked, it fell off the bone! We also had a sausage plate and pulled pork sandwich . All were delicious. The staff appeared very happy and excited about working there. And they are very optimistic about the continued growth of the Mission BBQ chain! Ok the folks inside are awesome. Service is fast and still good food. I love the meats, fried and bread. I tried the Bay-B-Que sauce and the nc vinegar sauce. Bay was delicious but the NC Vinegar was just vinegar. That is NOT nc vinegar sauce. I am from the area in NC where the sauce was first made and I can assure you there is more to it than just plain vinegar. I took one star away for that lie! read more

We dined here at lunchtime on a Thursday. Amber was behind the counter. She was very knowledgeable about the origins of the restaurant and made suggestions as to what to try including the bbq sauces on the table. She told the "floor server"this was our first time at Mission -I didn't think anything of this but as we were eating, floor server Emily, came over with complimentary banana bread pudding for us. Emily was very friendly and also discussed what her favorites were. Also when we picked up our tray of food, the server asked us if we wanted another plate since hubby and I were splitting meal. Emily came back over to check that we were doing ok and when I asked where I could get lids for our little puddings, rather than telling me, she just got them. She also thanked us for coming in! Passing thru town for a business meeting and wanted something other than fast food. Very spacious dining room and friendly atmosphere. I ordered the Brisket Sandwich with Fries and a soda. I took everything to go. Not sure if they gave me the correct sandwich or if the Brisket is extremely chopped up and looks like pulled pork. I'll never be able to give this place a true evaluation because I don't think I was served what I ordered. Fries were very tasty and the reason I'm giving three stars. We stopped for lunch this week and tried to claim a free sandwich for my birthday, but I had not understood the process so it didn't work. I intended to go home, do it right, and come back another time. We were enjoying our excellent BBQ lunches when a young man appeared at our table and said, "I understand someone here is having a birthday." He presented me with a card and a great blueberry dessert. The birthday card contained two small cards good for two free sandwiches at a later date. That was excellent and the way a good business should be run. I thank the manager and staff for their kindness. Of course all of their BBQ Choices are always perfect and the sides are great too. As we entered, we were greeted by a nice helpful young man. We let him know that it was our first time to visit and he was so happy to explain the menu to us. Well my husband enjoyed the traditional sausage with Mac and cheese and green beans and I enjoyed the sliced brisket sandwich with Mac and cheese and potato salad. Everything was exceptional. The potato salad had minimal ingredients including some onion and Mayo and seasoning. No celery or pickles or eggs. Scrumptious. The green beans were seasoned perfectly with bits of real bacon and the Mac and cheese....did I say five cheese Mac and cheese? Oh yes! The meats were out of this world. I loved the juicy sliced brisket and my husband really really enjoyed the traditional sausage. Oh...and the different sauces (6 different ones) were just as delicious as everything else. We tried the Smoky Mountain Sauce and the Old Bays Sauce. Ummmmm....yeah delicious as well. If you haven't been to Mission BBQ, next time you are in Evansville, it is a must! read more

I was very happy with the person answering the phone at mission bbq, she was helpful and gave advice on how to order to go for 5 people. I had planned on the per person pricing and she said with just five it was cheaper to go to with container pricing. My order was ready when I requested it to be picked up. But my order was missing the ills I ordered and the correct sauces for the bbb. Instead of pints the sides came in 3 individual size dishes which we quickly had to put into bowls before guests arrived and thought they could take the individual containers. read more
