Pulled Pork with baked beans.
Anthony R.

My mom and I went a couple other places prior to stopping here. One spit wasn't open for business yet, the other had a crazy line. Much to our surprise, no line, quickly welcomed and served promptly. When we asked, what was gluten-free, the guy taking our order at the counter was quick to look into their pamphlet of dietary guidelines for the food and gave us all of the answers we asked questions about. Then he yelled back to the prep area the two orders were Gluten-Free. They quickly came out and the young man who gave me the trays, did say to me, there is one of the sauces that is not gluten free. We really appreciated the communication between the staff. It all started with Chris at the very beginning. The food was excellent!! The pork was pulled very full of the pork flavor. The baked beans were great too!! There is even some brisket in with the beans which added to the yum factor. What an awesome atmosphere at Mission. So much memorabilia for the armed forces. I remember at my old job, we had a P.O.V seat, so that was great to see more places are doing this. A definite must return. Great work Mission BBQ!!

Service was over the top. The cashier Chris was very helpful with our gluten free requests. When we requested gluten free buns (which they do not have) he took it upon himself to verify the potato salad which wasn't but verified that the baked beans were. He also informed the meal prep area of "gluten free". When we picked up our food WITHOUT US ASKING we were informed that the only sauce that was not gluten free was the Texas Twang. I had the pulled pork which was very tender. They have six types of BBQ sauce. I enjoyed the KC Classic and the Memphis Belle. Tried a bit of each. Not only would I come back for the service but the food as well. One thing I wish all restaurants did: Recycle!! People would separate the plastic ware and plastic bowls easily at fast food type establishments. Or even better compostable tableware!!

We had ordered ahead of time for pick up. The young lady on the phone was very nice and accommodating when I had questions as this was our first time eating there. Food: I ordered a platter so that we could try a variety of what they offer. We got pulled pork, pulled chicken and the original sausage. We paid to get extra sides and we got mac and cheese, green beans and coleslaw. They gave us two of ach sauce so we could try each one. My favorite was the KC Classic. The pulled chicken was probably the best meat on the plate. The pulled pork was very good but seemed a bit dry and some bites were near jerky texture. Sausage was EXCELLENT, although I was missing a bite to it so I will probably try the jalapeno sausage next time. Mac and cheese: I will say that I am personally not a fan of baked mac and cheese, but the bite I did try was pretty good for baked mac and cheese but my partner loved it. Green beans: When I say that these are the BEST green beans I have ever had not only at a BBQ place but period, I mean that. Next time, I may just get a quart of those! The coleslaw definitely could have been creamier. Overall: WAY better than Old Carolina (Which isn't hard to do). This will definitely be the local place we go to get our BBQ fix. Is is Texas, Kentucky or Tennessee good? No. But for a local chain, it does the trick and has some great sides. Next time we will also be sure to try the brisket.

My favorite sauce there ..But 6 big choices !!!!

The service and food were 10/10. One of the worker named Lupe was walked by our table and I had to tell him I loved the food so much he gave us free sandwiches! Thank you so much Lupe! The service here felt like I was with family. I'll definitely come back.

Mouth watering fall off the bone ribs

Wow. This barbecue place is better than many other ones. I've been in the South. The meat fell right off the bone. You are going to get dirty eating it but that's the fun of it. They are also great supporters of is military and 1st responders. So please supporting the barbecue place means supporting our heroes.

XL combo: brisket with jalapeño cheese sausage, fries and corn bread

Fast service, self serving style. All the sauces were a bomb, good kick for juicy meat. Love the sausage and fluffy, buttery cornbread. Great place for family time or hangout with friends!

This restaurant should cease operations immediately. Our first time will be our last time. One star…read morebecause yelp requires at least one. Family was there for dinner on Friday. No one was there dining. When you walked in, the first thing you see is a smoker or grill with a propane tank stored inside the front door, along with a generator and a generator cord sitting on the floor. Attendant at the counter seemed visibly annoyed we had the audacity to even walk in the door. Asked her what was good. She said everything. In retrospect, I don't think she'd actually ever eaten there. I should have realized with the row of crockpots on the back counter I was not going to be in for a good meal. We all ordered a two meat combo, brisket and pulled pork, with mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. Wife got beans instead of potatoes. We all got a fountain drink. When filling up our drinks, the Coke Zero and Diet Coke both ran clear with no color and was literally soda water. When we brought this to the attention of the staff we were told "that's just the way that it is." No effort on the part of the staff was made to correct the situation. After a short wait, our food arrived. The brisket was so salty it could not be eaten. The pulled pork was watery and tasted like canned meat. The mashed potatoes and mac and cheese were bland and tasted old. I would have complained about the meal but after the soda incident, it seemed pointless and I expected the same answer. I recommend avoiding this place. "It's just the way that it is. "

Not real bbq. Crock pot brisket. Freeze dried or store bought sides. It says grandmas coleslaw on…read morethe menu, hinting towards a family or old timey recipe. Nope litterally the brand grandmas from the store. Mashed potatoes claimed Yukon gold making you think they're fresh made. Nope instant. Jalapeños in bacon were decent, fried pickles were frozen. They try to come off as a small bbq joint but it's actually owned by a person/company that's owns several other restaurants that try to come off in the same small time place. Will not be coming back or seeking out their food truck they proudly park out front. Staff was very friendly and quick. The only redeeming quality this place has is the price, it's fairly cheap however I'd go to McDonald's before returning here.

Let me just start by saying this place is great. On Tuesday's they have $6 dollar sandwiches, well…read moreit's just 2 of the signature chicken sandwiches. This menu is something else. I sat at the bar, and the bartender was great, very attentive and explained everything to me, even how they cook the fries in a beef bouillon but only on Tuesdays because the Vegetarian customers don't agree with it. Which tells me they must have a huge vegetarian crowd(at a chicken place?). Anyways the fries that came with the Nashville chicken sandwich were amazaballs... and I don't usually get fries, ever. I also order 2 sets of wings, they have traditional and boneless, I went with the bone-in, Nashville rub, it's not just a rub it's saucy, and the Parm/ garlic,. They came out hot/temp, so I ate the sandwich first and piled my coleslaw on-top and it's a soft roll type bun, and poured ranch on some bites cause it has some kick. And the coleslaw came out in a 2 cup container not a little dish, I ate it the whole meal and it was really good. I, half way through, asked the bartender if I could get one of the homemade lemonade that's in the back, that he mention to me, I did not see it at the soda fountain or on the menu. They have a full bar also. I was told the lemonade can be made blueberry or strawberry, I just got the strait up lemonade and it was great, served in a to go cup. And I like lemonade and root-beer, but they just have Barq's root-beer. I got there at about 5 and they have half priced appetizers from 3-6 and they change from day to day. They have a whole menu devoted to "The bird" you can get it whole, half, qtr, and on Wednesday they have .50c wings and they told me they sell out every Wednesday! I can believe it. They have a bunch of different sides, I wanted Mac and cheese but I already ordered for 2 people. I have to say when I sat down the bartender told me to hang on so he could re-wipe my spot. The place is pretty big and they have a downstairs party room you can rent out, with its own bathrooms, the bathrooms upstairs are clean and filled with toiletry, that's a good sign coming from me, bathrooms are a must. Especially if you're eating with your fingers for most of the meal. I would recommend anybody who likes wings and just plain chicken and fixens, this is your place. I just get a little confused on when to go, when they cook the fries in the same oil as the chicken. Tuesdays I think. Because the fries, wow. I stand by this place, check it out!

The Good: great…read moretasting chicken: Danielle had the chicken & waffles and i had a 4 piece meal w/ fried Brussel sprouts. we both agreed that the chicken was delicious and perfectly fried/crispy. the chicken fingers were also huge. i was worried that 4 chicken fingers wasn't going to be enough to fill me up but i was full by the time I'd eaten 2. each finger was the width of 2 fingers you'd get somewhere else. beverage options: i'm diabetic so i stick to diet/zero sugar sodas or teas. not only did they have diet pepsi, but had diet dr. pepper as well. score! and that cold soda was needed... The Bad (or Bad-ish): Howlin Sauce: incredibly hot/spicy for just a sriracha based sauce. i eat lots of hot and spicy dishes. it wasn't that it tasted bad - in fact, quite the opposite - but it scorched my tongue like nothing has in a while. No Chill (ha): Danielle's chicken and waffles was swimming in syrup so by her waffles were soggy as hell by the time she'd finished. she still loved the meal and just said she'd ask for it on the side next time. Messy: when we arrived, we saw a number of parties leaving one after another. i assume this would be the reason that most of the tables were covered in dirty dishes and empty cups and glasses. since you order at the counter and seat yourself, servers are not around to check on you or the state of the restaurant. so, tables remained messy for a little while before they were cleaned up. Ordering: i don't like the ordering at the counter and lack of server service. the place doesn't look to be set up that way. you'd think there would be servers as it's kinda like a larger bar. instead you order, sit, wait for your food and you're on your own. it's a little like BW3 was back in the day. Slow: seemed to take a long time for chicken fingers. not a huge deal, but i wouldn't have guessed it'd take so long. i don't want to give the impression, though, that it was more bad than good. the food definitely outweighed the negatives. it's a long way from home but i'd go back for sure. i'd like to try some wings and some other sides as well as some of their appetizers.
