Victory Lane Quick Oil Change

Victory Lane Quick Oil Change

I'm going to be kind to give two stars because the owner was nice but that's about it. Below you…read morewill see that my previous review of this location was awesome and I praised them highly . Unfortunately none of that applies anymore and this updated review is much different. They have changed owners and they will no longer allow a customer to bring their own oil and filter. On top of that their quote for a simple synthetic oil change on a 2013 Honda CRV is $120 which is as ridiculous as I can imagine anywhere. And telling them how surprised I am and that I think they're going to lose business and I have four vehicles that they won't get, their assumption is that won't happen and they'll be just fine. So let me be the first to say goodbye Victory Lane! STALE REVIEW BELOW, NO LONGER ACCURATE! Professional. Clean. Kind. Thorough. Polite. Fair prices. Quick. Waited in my car. Need I say more? There is absolutely nothing the large chains offer other than constant upsale pressure and inflated prices. Then they do poor work and are sloppy! GO TO VICTORY WITH EVERY VEHICLE AND TELL TIM, THE OWNER, THAT SCOTT SAID BLESSINGS!!!

I took my car to Victory Lane for an oil change this afternoon. I will admit that I did not ask…read morethem about the price before they started. I waited in line for about 20 minutes, which wasn't too bad, but had to wait in my car because the waiting room was locked. The oil change itself also took about 20 minutes. The last 5 minutes was because only one technician knew how to use the computer to charge the customers. Imagine my shock at finding out that a simple, no-frills oil change cost $117 plus tax! I was left with little recourse since the work had already been done and I did not ask in advance, but I will not be returning. Car dealerships charge less than that!

I was rushed for time and needing an oil change before heading out on a 6 hour road trip to pick up a horse the next day. My dad offered to take my truck somewhere for me while I was at work, and Trinity was able to fit it in. I knew the truck needed a new fuel filter in the near future which they said they could go ahead and replace, but when they tried it wouldn't fit. My dad was told "It's the right one but a different style" or something of that nature so they put the old one back in. No, what actually happened is somewhere during this visit, someone broke the cap on my fuel filter and didn't bother to say anything. Fast forward to the next day, I am in Pennsylvania hauling 7,000 pounds behind me and begin to smell diesel. My dad said they spilled a bunch messing with the filter so I didn't think much of it until the truck starts smoking and I realize I'm getting about 5 miles to the gallon. Diesel was spewing all over my engine from the broken fuel filter cap. I am very lucky the truck did not blow up on the highway. Do you have any idea how expensive it is to have a truck, steel trailer, and horse transported 3 hours home on a minutes notice? I know this is a Christian establishment so maybe they at least said a prayer for me and for that I am very thankful, but I'm pretty sure the Lord also encourages honesty and I experienced none of that. This is the same place that a while back tried charging me $500 for a new timing belt because "mine was torn". Sorry guys, that car has a timing chain, which is fully intact, and to my knowledge chains don't "tear".

The staff is friendly and they never try to push me into extra services. That is not to say they will not tell me if they notice something, they just respect no as an answer and move on. I don't foresee taking my vehicle anywhere else for an oil change as long as this place is still in business.

And, after calling numerous other locations with no luck and rude staff, I called Midas. Amber answered the phone, with nothing more than hospitality in her voice. I asked her about the empty oil drums, and she asked me to hold. I waited less than 20 seconds before she returned with a response. I was told they did have a couple, and was offered them free of charge. Unlike a few other places that want anywhere from $10-30 per drum. When I arrived to pick up the drums, I was greeted immediately. That was a wonderful first impression. I was asked to back up to a bay and the drums were brought out. The gentleman loaded the drums in the back of the truck for me, and wished me a good day. Now, that may not sound like much to some, but as someone who still remembers how customer service standards used to be, I appreciated the hell out of this location. They have a firm grasp on what it takes to stay in business: The customer. I will not even bother with another location for my vehicle needs. This very small interaction with the team members here told me everything I need to know about their business practices. It's absolutely absurd to me that more places don't adopt the Midas way of doing business.

Honest technicians and manager!…read more I am a car enthusiast and have been around the block and know a service center or two. I brought my vehicle here for a third opinion because the two I received earlier at other places were polar opposites. I dont know the name of the manager at this place but he is simply awesome - knowledgeable and honest. What more can you ask for!! They fixed my issue and charged me only part of the amount because it was not fixed completely right the first time. Just sitting in the waiting area and watching the manager deal with the customers and giving them honest feedback and guidance is a testament to why this place is always so busy! Keep up the awesomeness..you have a loyal customer.

Grade A+ Auto Shop…read more Background story, I was on a road trip home from Roanoke to Philly, coming up I-81. My car starts giving me issues on the highway right near the Winchester, VA exit. I manage to limp my car to an autozone, and they suggest Eddie's. This is at 9pm at night, mind you. So I leave my car at Eddie's overnight. They didn't have a drop box or anything, so I could let him know why this car showed up. Or what was wrong with it. I woke up early and took the heel-toe express to get to Eddie's before they opened, so I could explain my problem. By the time I'd arrived, they'd already taken the car into the shop, determined the problem and got order out for the part (a serpentine belt). He allowed me out on the shop floor while they were replacing the belt. I had the small misfortune of meeting everyone there. Because they were the nicest and happiest group I'd ever met. It was a misfortune because, he worked so fast that I didn't get to stay and chat longer. He charged me a more than fair price for the belt and he put me on top of his already busy list. I was stranded in Winchester, VA and Eddie's Tire got me out of there quickly and cheaply. I can't say that I'll return, given that he's a bit of a commute to be my main mechanic. But I think Eddie's is amazing, and I encourage everyone in the area to give him your business.
