We had such a good time the first game we played at Missing Pieces (Ruin Raiders), that we (my teenage kids and I) brought my niece along for our second game (Cuckoo's Clock). It was so much fun -- we escaped with only 25 seconds left, so it was a bit frantic at the end! We all agreed that Cuckoo's Clock was one of the most challenging and enjoyable escape games we had ever played. The puzzles were fantastic because they were original and challenging -- these are not puzzles you will have seen before, and involve much more than just finding lock combinations. I would recommend at least 3 people for this room; Missing Pieces recommends a minimum of 5, but it was manageable with 4. One of the best design features is that the puzzles are not linear, so you can split up and work on several puzzles at once, and it doesn't really matter in which order they get solved. It was a very unique game with varied puzzles of different types -- we had a blast! The other thing to know about Missing Pieces is that this is a family-owned business where the owners really care about their customers' experiences and seem to enjoy their business immensely. Both times we have been there we have been impressed with how friendly and helpful everyone has been. I highly recommend you give this business your business! read more

Did some beta testing this past Halloween weekend; had an incredible time! I've done one puzzle room prior to this one, Riddle Room, which I found to be far too easy with far too many people playing. At the Riddle Room there were 12 people playing, we were given a explicit task list and completed the room in 25mins. However, at Missing Pieces we played with 6 people allowing ~2 people to work on a puzzle at any given time. We didn't have a task list so you had to explore the room for clues and puzzles to solve. The owners were watching the entire time via cameras and would provide interactive clues if the group got hung up. I found this to be much more desirable than a task list and made the room a fun challenge to solve. Without giving too much away the puzzles kept everyone moving and thinking the entire time. There were a couple great twists in the room that none of us expected, keep your wits about you. If you want a puzzle room that isn't a "gimme" with a smaller team to play with this is definitely for you! read more

My experience at the Missing Pieces Escape Room was one of the most exquisite experiences I've had in a while. My group and I were warmfully welcomed and had a good few minutes of small talk and banter where we warmed up our brains and prepared to stretch our craniums and contemplate complex clues to decipher the mystery we were about to uncover. When we entered our mansion themed escape endeavor, we were introduced to the task by a fun, entertaining video that set the unsettling scene. After 45 minutes of puzzling though this exciting, thrilling venture of uncovering a diamond. I cannot describe a more satisfying feeling than uncovering a clue and successfully connecting the dots to move onto the next. After 45 minutes of an excruciating brain workout, my group and I successful escaped. We took a photo in front of the stores logo and laughed as we recalled our exhilarating experience. I will make sure to return to this fine establishment when more rooms have opened. read more

We went to Missing Pieces for a fun family holiday event while the college age kids were home from school. Our group was a grandma, a grandpa, mom, dad, two twenty somethings and, just for fun, an ex-wife. We did the Ruin Raiders puzzle. It was very well set up with clues that ranged from fairly easy to complex head scratchers which triggered several well timed clues. All players were involved and felt like they contributed to reaching the solution. We had fun, laughed a lot, screwed up a few times which created some excitement and still got it solved with about 10 minutes to spare. Great way to spend a few hours and well worth the cost. By the way, the staff was wonderful from the first call to the last goodbye as we left for home. Thanks! read more

This was my group of friends third escape room, and it was wonderful. We chose the most difficult room, Cuckoo's Clock, and we finished it with over 2 minutes to spare, having only had 2 clues given to us. Speaking of which, I loved the way the clues were given. They came over a television screen, thus not breaking the mood of the room. They also only gave a hint when they could see that we were stuck on a particular puzzle. The clues were great, as well, only pushing you in the right direction, not just telling you what to do. So many different puzzles in the same room, the group could split up and work on different ones at the same time, and getting fresh eyes from one another when needed. Definitely check this place out! read more

Our group was a family celebrating a 14-year-old's birthday. Everyone had a great time and the room was a challenge. We didn't solve the mystery in the allotted hour, but we're permitted to keep trying a little longer and finally got it. Our guide was friendly and helpful. Bring tip money! We didn't have much cash on us, but staff do accept tips! I would give a 5 star rating, but don't want to mislead anyone. The location is in an office building, so that takes away a little from the ambiance. This did not bother us at all, but it might for someone expecting different. Would definitely go again! Good clean family fun! read more

Our family came here for my daughter's graduation (June 2021), ranging from teens to a senior. The decor wasn't cheap looking and there were multiple rooms so we weren't claustrophobic and Grandpa could sit and observe or participate as he wanted. The decorations were intricately woven into the puzzles and the puzzles weren't just "here's a puzzle." Much more movie intricate in design and we had to work hard to figure things out and get them to work. The time pressure was there and made it realistic. We liked it so much we booked another right away and came back to work another room. A lot of fun. read more

Our team was looking for something different as an outing when we all were in town, and I found Missing Pieces online. The staff was so professional and pleasant to work with from start to end. Very accommodating to our team's needs and answered all questions. The night of our event was so much fun...even those that were skeptics were drawn into the fun. We solved the puzzles and escaped with minutes to spare! It was an amazing evening and we would love to do it again. Highly recommend this establishment for teams, groups, families and anyone looking for a fun challenging time out. read more

One of the best puzzle rooms in Minnesota!! We have done 2 rooms now, and the best one in my opinion is Cuckoo's Clock (we got the second best score all-time in this room). The tasks require everyone to split up and do the tasks, so no one is left standing around. The puzzles were challenging and so much fun! We loved how the puzzles are not a bunch of locks, and rather these puzzles are creative and well crafted. The best thing about this place is the owners. They talk to you before and after as if you're long-time friends. Best run escape room in Minnesota!! read more

Having played at least ten different escape rooms, Missing Pieces is by far the best at what they do. I've gone through both Ruin Raiders as well as Diamond Dilemma, and had an absolute blast in both rooms. Their rooms are challenging and engaging, but are not impossible to solve with some clues. The rooms are extremely detailed-oriented and realistic, and all of the staff is incredibly kind. I would highly recommend Missing Pieces to first-timers as well as experienced escapers alike! Thank you to Missing Pieces to an A+ experience every time! read more

My husband and I are avid escape room players. We have played a TON of them all over the state and in other states. This one is seriously one of the BEST ones we have ever been to, hands down. Locally owned, family run business that really goes all out for the true escape room experience. Great special effects, super cool puzzles/riddles to solve, and the staff were super friendly and accommodating. Had a blast. Will definitely be coming back when they switch out rooms next. read more

I took my high school aged girl scout troop there. We had a fantastic, all around experience at this puzzle room. We were greeted warmly and we loved hearing about how the business began! We have done puzzle rooms before, but this one was still so much fun and challenging! We are looking forward to returning later for another experience in a different room. The facility is very clean.. The staff is gracious. The Diamond Dilemma is a lot of fun to play! We recommend it! read more

Had a great time this weekend at Missing Pieces. We had various age ranges participating in our group, teens up to 50 yrs old and all of us had a good time. We were all busy the entire time and even though it was a little bigger group, 9 people, it was pretty easy to communicate. I did like that they gave us a couple of suttle clues along the way to keep us moving forward. It was fun to see what happened next. Would highly recommend this escape room. read more

First time participating in an escape room adventure...and I loved it! Our group consisted of my Two adult daughters, son-in-law and me. Two in our group had done this before and helped us navigate. So much fun! We were successful, making the experience even better. The staff here is terrific, helpful and the facility is awesome! If you like puzzles, want to have a group/team activity and like having fun that lasts beyond the event, go to Missing Pieces! read more

Our family of five have been to just about every escape room in the twin cities. This is one of the best. The rooms are innovative, interesting and well done. We have done all of the rooms at Missing Pieces and each room has its own unique character, style and difficulty. The staff is so friendly and helpful, they will direct you to the room that is best for your group. If you want to try an Escape Room or love them like we do, this is the place!! read more

We've completed 3 of their rooms with various groups of different sizes, and they've always impressed. The attention to detail and quality of puzzles is quite high. These aren't just rooms with word puzzles to solve, but fully-featured experiences with lots of hidden compartments and mechanical solutions. You can tell the owners and employees all love what they do, and love sharing their work. Would go back in a heartbeat! read more

This was a gift to my mom and dad for Christmas and it was a huge hit. This was a first time experience for everyone in our group of 6. We had such a fun time in the Ruin Raiders escape room! It was challenging and we finished with minutes to spare. The owners were so welcoming and provided a one of a kind experience for us. We can't stop talking about the fun time we had together and are already planning our next visit! read more

I went there with my two sons because we love escape rooms and had not been to Missing Pieces Escape Games. We were not disappointed in the least. The rooms they have are challenging and fun. The assistance we received from the staff was spot on, they gave us just the right amount of clues when we started spinning our wheels. I would strongly recommend Missing Pieces for friends, family or company outings. Ron Hansen read more

Our family went to this Escape room for some fun over the holidays. We completed the Diamond Dilema with 8 people and would highly recommend! This was our first puzzle room but finished within the hour. We had so much fun together and the family who owns and built the puzzles were so kind and accommodating. We had some great family fun with all ages and had a blast talking about it for days after! read more
