I have one difficult, thick nail that some places refuse to cut. They did not mention it here at all on both occasions that I went, they just cut it. On this occasion, I asked the male manicurist not to cut the cuticles, but to just push them back.. He did not listen to me and continued to cut the cuticles. He drew blood three times on my toes. Since I am on blood thinners, the bleeding did not stop immediately, but took swiping and cleaning several times. I did not carry on or repeat my requirements, but I do have autoimmune diseases, and I am hyper vigilant about not wanting to get infections. Also, on the manicure, there was no rubbing lotion or anything on my hands or arms, all he really did was put the polish on. I asked that he did not cut my nails, as I had already done that, and he did follow my request of not cutting the cuticles. I like this salon because there is not a heavy odor of acrylics and polish. They do use good-quality and sanitary products. I will continue to go to the salon, and make my requirements more thorough, and insist that "no cutting the cuticles" be adhered to. The pedicure is very relaxing, but be prepared for it to take a long time. The entire processes of a Manicure, Pedicure took two hours. It was the same in time for the friend who accompanied me..

I've been a loyal client of Polished for years and have always had great experiences, which is why…read morethis recent visit was so disappointing. Until now, I had never had a single issue and trusted the salon because their technicians consistently did a solid job. During my most recent visit for a manicure and pedicure, a newer technician was assigned to my pedicure. I didn't think much of it, as I've always had confidence in the staff. Unfortunately, while working on my cuticles, she cut my toe quite badly. She seemed unsure of how to handle the situation and repeatedly dunked my foot into the soapy water, which was painful and uncomfortable. At the same time, another technician was doing my manicure, and the combination of pain, confusion, and stimulation made what should have been a relaxing experience extremely stressful. The technician continued by applying nick powder repeatedly until the bleeding stopped, but the remainder of the pedicure felt rushed and incomplete. Very little care or attention was given afterward to make the experience better. To make matters worse, she then brought out hot stones and placed one directly on my leg without checking the temperature first, resulting in a burn. At that point, I was overwhelmed and began to cry. The owner came over and said he would "take care of me." Since the service was already halfway done, I chose to finish simply so I could leave. I was shocked when I was then asked to pay for the services, with only a 10% discount off the pedicure. Given that I was cut and burned during the same appointment, it felt careless and extremely unprofessional to even suggest payment for such a poor experience. Ultimately, I did not pay for the pedicure. Days later, my toe is still sore, and I'm genuinely concerned about the possibility of an infection. This was, without question, the worst pedicure I've ever had. I never expected to write a review like this about a salon I've supported for so long, but this experience felt unsafe and poorly handled. Accidents happen, but how they're addressed matters. I hope Polished takes this seriously, improves training for new technicians, and reevaluates how situations like this are managed. Unfortunately, I don't feel comfortable returning.
