a donut with sprinkles on a napkin
    Vanessa F.

I came home one day to find a mysterious white bag on the kitchen counter. I eyed it. Circled it. Could this be what I think it is? Donuts? I peeked inside and said "yesssss!" in a hushed whisper. My mom bought a few donuts! I immediately gobbled down the half of twist donut she'd left inside. And by gobbled I mean demolished. 'Twas finger licking good. Fast forward to the next morning and I eat my favorite, regular cake donut with the white frosting and colored sprinkles. I pull it out of the bag and the thing is COVERED with sprinkles. So jam packed you couldn't even see the frosting underneath. The donut was moist and delicious. And I made sure to eat every last sprinkle. 20 minutes ago, time for an afternoon snack.... I eat another twist donut. I eye it and notice the thing is COVERED in glaze. Not a spot was missed. This place does not go lightly on the toppings. There's still 1 more donut in the bag... not sure how long it's gonna last. OINK. OINK.

Anywaaaay - I tried the trio tostadas, a tamal and a Mayan iced latte. The tostadas were great. They were very fresh. They're very simple. One is black bean, one is avacado and one is chicken salad. My favorite was the chicken salad. I used their green salsa and it was delicious. The tamales was good. Today I learned I don't really like the flavor of banana leaf that gets absorbed into the tamal. Also, it was primarily made of rice. It had a piece of bell pepper, a little chicken and I think a plum. Aside from the banana leaf I liked the tamale. The latte was delicious. Nice coffee flavor and sweetened perfectly. Definite recommend and I will for sure be back.

The tamal Chapin was a bit bland overall and had very little chicken inside. The chuchito had a nice salsa with good flavor, but the masa itself felt a little dry with each bite, even though it was bathed in sauce. The coffee alone makes this place worth a visit.

Smooth, balanced, not overly sweet, just really well done. Beyond the drinks, the vibe is what really sets Roam & Brew apart. It's always busy for a reason. Friendly staff, welcoming energy, and a place that genuinely feels like it was built for the community. You never feel rushed or like just another order. Consistency, quality, and care are everything in a coffee shop, and Roam & Brew nailed all three. It's obvious how much thought goes into what they serve and how they show up for customers. My order was ready when I arrived, and the girl who greeted me was genuinely sweet and welcoming. On my way out, their pastry display caught my eye and I went back to grab a Matcha Pistachio Croissant ($7.50). A different person took my order and she seemed a little bothered when I came back to order, which was a bit off-putting. The croissant itself was disappointing -- it didn't taste fresh, and this was only about 30 minutes after opening. For $7.50, I expected a lot more, especially compared to other spots serving matcha pistachio croissants that are both tastier and more affordable. The shop was nice and clean and it has plenty of seating. That said, their matcha is still easily in my top 3 -- that part never disappoints.
