A classy setting in an unlikely spot in Woodrow Plaza. There was covid spacing and comfortable seating. Service was prompt and friendly. We had "golden shrimp" of the chef's menu as an appetizer. The favorites: Scallop sashimi with uni on top - served on top of a slice of lemon, this dish had so many levels. Scallop was like buddahhh and the uni was so fresh! Eel dragon roll - with spicy tuna inside. Normally, it's drown in soy sauce but this was very simple and minimalistic approach. Something so bare but it showcased all its flavors at its best. One of the best rolls I've had here. Pleasantly surprised. K-mac sliders - crunchy semi salty waffer acts as the "bun" sandwiching avacodo, spicy tuna, rice and topped with caviar. This was oh so tasty!! And what a creative way of putting everything together. We had three orders and it was gobbled up within minutes. Yeah, we're foodie gangsters like that. A must get. This place is thee best in Staten Island, not only is their food crazy delicious and fresh but they care about their customers! My street was closed for construction and I didn't know about it , the driver walked from 2 huge blocks just yo deliver my food. I love this place because their food is really good. However, the service isn't so great anymore. There's a waitress that works there that clearly hates her job and it shows. She is not polite, does not check to see if we need anything and the restaurant loses money because if she would stop by at least one time, we would order more sake and food. We try to get her attention but her back is turned to the television at the register and we end up finishing our meal without anything else. So because of the service, which I've given several chances for them to fix it by going often, this place lost stars for me Hopefully the owner could talk to the wait staff about being more aware. read more

Local sushi spot located inside of Woodrow plaza. The parking lot is a zoo due to many other stores which makes parking troublesome. The ambiance is colorful and intimate inside; good for a date. We ordered the vegetable fried rice which was delicious and filling with many fresh vegetables inside. There fried rice sauce is also an amazing plus to the rice or sushi rolls. However I do like Genkis' sauce a bit more. Prices are cheap for rolls and the lunch specials are an even better deal. Two rolls and a soup or salad for 6.75$/ three rolls 8.75$. I have also tried the basil chicken entree before which was extremely flavorful. There was a check in offer for free ice cream but we did not take this offer and will save it for next time.
