I like to think of myself as a fruit loop in a world of cheerios! Unfortunately for me my beautiful hair is stubborn and very dark (thank you my indigenous roots) and for me the color process is exactly that A PROCESS! I was very lucky to find Jovi on social media and saw her incredible work. She has a station at Mirror Mirror Hair Studio & SPA. I originally came in for a hair cut and to low key interview her -I needed to make sure she was comfortable working with dark hair. I immediately felt comfortable with her. She maybe young but she is very knowledgeable and right away came with a plan to lighten my hair so I could continue my hair-adventures. Her prices are great, her work is amazing and personally I wouldn't trust my hair with just anyone other than Jovi. My hair despite the bleaching and coloring stays healthy and full which form me is important. The salon itself is located in a strip mall adjacent to the Rivergate Mall. Plenty of parking in the area. They have a great COVID safety plan, yes you do wear a mask but so do the stylist. They are consistently sanitizing and keeping the stations clean. The salon has a variety of stylist and they are keeping up to a modern decor, but do keep in mind it seems the clientele is primary much older (retired). Aside from just interacting with Jovi the majority of the stylist are very kind and talented. I can not recommend Jovi enough if you want to start a hair-adventure. I just moved to the area and was looking for a new hair salon and decided to give Mirror Mirror a try. I went online and booked an appointment with Jovi. My appointment was for noon on Friday so I arranged my work schedule so I could go during my lunch break. I showed up five minutes early but there was no one at the front desk to check me in and I stood around for a few minutes before another stylist asked who I had an appointment with, and then told me to have a seat. Once I had a seat, I could see Jovi still working on a client and it looked like she was about halfway through curling her hair to wrap up the appt. I was a little worried as it was now past our appointment time but I figured she would come over and let me know if she was going to be running late. I sat there until it was 10 minutes past my appointment time, and it seemed as if Jovi was in no hurry. I let the Front Desk know that I would be leaving and I ended up leaving without getting my haircut. It was an offputting experience to be within eye sight of my hairdresser and her not acknowledge me or even let me know she was gonna be running a few minutes late. It's also worth noting that the Salon is a very large and there were multiple hairdressers cutting hair for several people, but there were several people that just seemed to be hanging out in the salon as well (including a child running around). The prices posted are very reasonable so I guess you get what you pay for but I am willing to spend a little more money to have a relaxing and personable experience. read more

From the first friendly and chatty phone call (with Kathy) for an appointment and having all my questions answered to the most wonderful shampoo/scalp & neck massage (with Mary). The first (highlighted photo) is what I asked for, and specifically said which colors. The second (me) is what I left with, all dirty blonde hair with zero chocolate brown or even highlights. She (Jovi) was even showed multiple photos and I told her I wanted the base to be dark chocolate brown with caramel and ash blonde highlights with equal parts. I have never left a salon so disappointed in my life, and definitely will never be returning. If all salons closed on the planet and Mirror Mirror was the only one left, I still wouldn't even come back. read more

My boyfriend and I had our hair done today by Jovi. First of all, I hate going to hair salons... I am a raging introvert and the ungenuine stylist-client banter stresses me tf out. Jovi had an honest and down to earth personality (not overwhelming or over-chatty) and I felt like I could communicate with her honestly. I went in without example pictures and she cut my hair exactly how I explained. I have lifeless/fine hair and she somehow made it appear voluminous (no stylist has ever accomplished this feat).
