We arrived early and were only the second guests, so we had our choice of seating. I started with a cup of coffee, and he had a birch beer. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed. I ordered the egg bowl, which was very tasty, along with a side of French toast. He had the steak tips with eggs and really enjoyed his meal. My only small suggestion would be to serve the syrup warm. The French toast was good, but the syrup was a little chilly, and warm syrup would have made it even better. It took at least 30 minutes to get drinks - and the margarita was unfortunately salty (they did remake it when I finally gave in and asked for an extra splash of sour mix) - and the food took even longer. There were kids in our party who are usually well behaved but after being forced to wait over an hour for food became understandably restless. I got up at one point to ask for a status update and the other server so pointedly avoided eye contact with me that everyone at the table commented on it when I got back. Every other table was done long before we got our food, including those who arrived after us, purely because the other server never even looked towards us so we had to wait for the bartender to have spare time to come out to us. This had nothing to do with the size of our party. This was just the one server choosing to ignore us while still addressing the others around us. The orders were wrong when they finally came out - beef instead of beans for the vegetarian and the chicken taco was missing chicken, we got flour tortillas instead of corn tortillas, and to top it off the food was cold. He did comp our meal, but that was the least that could have been done for us after everything else. It's a beautiful location and the live music was great, but atmosphere isn't enough to convince me to ever return. We left hungry and cranky due to missed bedtimes and inedible food. Sounded perfect! I paired it with a bowl of queso and a water, because I'm still on the clock, otherwise it would have been a cold Modelo or swirl margarita. What was brought out to me was not lunch, but a time machine...taking me back to my college days and a meal that I've been chasing for over 20 years. The beef was stewed and tender, and paired with the cheese enchiladas it reminded me of hitting up Taco Cabana after the bars, ordering a carne guisada and a side of queso, mixing it all up together and diving in with chips. I wasn't planning on inhaling the whole plate (and queso too) but I did and even though I am in gastric pain, I do not regret my decision. Even though I'm sure I looked the fool, I closed my eyes while eating it and I was back there in College Station at 2:30am, listening to Cross Canadian Ragweed and having my whole life ahead of me. The food was THAT good...it actually took me back in time. The service was also excellent and attentive, and I wish I had the bravery to go back into the kitchen and shake everyone's hands. In total, we paid $45.97 for two small tostadas, three pupusas, and one carne asada taco. For the portions we received, the price was shocking. When I called to ask about the discrepancies, the employee told me, "Then don't order food here," and then hung up on me. If you decide to eat here anyway, don't use the restaurant's preferred online ordering site. DoorDash pickup prices appeared to match the advertised menu, while the restaurant's own online ordering site did not. The food tasted good, but the misleading online menu and rude customer service completely ruined the experience.
