Beyond a level 10 pain!!! The pain was like a tight belt and stabbing feeling. I couldnt stand or sit up. I had also started burping a lot of gas (which was not normal for me). I was also getting really sharp lower ab & pelvic pains immediately before having a bowel movement. I saw Dr. Lin, she did a thorough exam including a vaginal probe ultrasound and said she thinks I may have adhesions or endometriosis and suggested laparoscopic surgery & hysteroscopy in a week. She educated me on both possibilities & alternative treatments & left it compIetely up to me. I decided to have to exploratory surgery & possible lysis of adhesions. Here's my health background: I had been having undiagnosed peripheral pains for 2 years..seeing one Neurology & Rheumotology specialists after another at Kaiser. Lots of painful nerve tests and lots of unwanted trial medications with terrible side effects & withdrawal symptoms. I wondered if this was the root cause if all my pains....Dr. Lin was very mindful that I was stable for surgery, she ensured that I was comfortable with the procedure. Post surgery she informed me & my husband that I had extensive adhesions and my organs were now freed. She showed pictures of th adhesions, explained full the possible causes and at my request informed me of alternatives methods of healing & prevention of regrowth of adhesions (ie yoga, pilates, stretching exercises, water fasting...and an inflammatory way if living) It's 8 months post surgery. My 2 years of peripheral nerve pains have ended, my sharp uterine, abdominal, pelvic pains are gone wit only some tenderness during my cycle. I have been doing hot yoga, and am now able to run & do jumping jacks again. Thanks to Dr. Lin's expertise, education, and ability to really listen to me & my symptoms, she gave a quick intial diagnosis which was confirmed when she did the surgery. After a few minutes in her office she felt it and said it felt like a hernia. She set me up for an ultrasound. She was exactly right! The results of the ultrasound showed a hernia. She actually called me herself on my cell phone to let me know the results. Now I can get it taken care of. Rosie is thorough, gentle, and she really cares!!! I give her my highest respect. After being temporarily laid off due to the pandemic, I was approved for Medi-cal and this was the first clinic that popped up when I searched Medi-cal accepted obgyn. They're located right next to a WIC store too. I felt right at home from day one. The staff there makes you feel like family. Even though my Medi-cal wasn't fully processed, Dr. Joy tried her best to get a hold of them and went ahead and saw me anyway. I was given pre-natal vitamins at my very first appointment. I've been there about 3 times now and everyone is great. I've never had to wait more than 15 minutes past my appointment time. They have you in and out. Thank you Doctor Joy and staff! Not with Dr. Sullivan. I've been to her office three times now, once for my annual, once for an ultra sound, and then a follow up. She took the time to listen to my concerns and she answered my questions in a way I could understand. She's thoughtful, friendly, and understanding. At no time did I feel rushed in any way. And her office is so comfortable - big comfy chairs in the lobby (not your standard medical waiting room chairs), her staff is friendly, and I've never waited more than 5 minutes... even when I arrived 20 minutes early. I love that I can check in online, upload my medications, prior labs, anything and everything before the appointment. I appreciate the reminders AND the complimentary valet parking. All in all, a very comfortable, thorough, and informative office and staff. It's not easy finding new physicians. I am truly impressed with, and grateful for, Dr. Sullivan.

He is patient, kind and always explained everything to me in a way that I would understand. He made sure I left each prenatal appointment understanding where I was at in my pregnancy and what I had to look forward to in the coming weeks. He never hesitated to offer an extra visit if I was feeling anxious & made sure my husband was included for the big appointments (during COVID times). He never made me feel rushed or unimportant. During labor, he calmly and consistently reassured me that I was doing great and helped me immensely by talking me through everything going on while I was pushing. The best thing about Dr. Awadalla is that he will advocate for you through everything. He worked with me when submitting my maternity leave for my employer and spoke up for me when I was still feeling pain during my stitches after my delivery in the hospital -even though I had an epidural. I always felt seen and heard by him and knew he would be on my side when I needed him to be. Overall, Dr. Awadalla is absolutely amazing! Please don't be discouraged because he is a male doctor.
