I arrived already 10 cm dilated, and the doctor came in while things were pretty chaotic but handled everything very calmly. I wasn't able to get an epidural in time, but she still advocated for me and supported my request to try, which meant a lot. She also guided me through different positions to help me push more effectively, which made a big difference. I especially appreciated her communication when our daughter's heart rate was dipping during contractions. She kept us informed and gave us a thoughtful heads-up about possible next steps without making us feel rushed or pressured. Very grateful to have a healthy baby and such a smooth recovery so far!

After being unsatisfied by my previous primary care providers due to always feeling rushed and dismissed, I am really glad to have found Dr. Livingston. The appointment did not feel rushed, she asked many questions and also listened to my concerns seriously. She is very knowledgeable and gave feedback on what could be done / tested on my concerns & what wouldn't be helpful, and she also help set up any follow up tests necessary. My only wish is that it's easier to find appointment availability as I had to book months ahead, but I think that speaks to how great she is! Although it was just my first appointment, I'm looking forward to working with Dr. Livingston as I feel like she genuinely cares and will take care of her patients! Also front desk is efficient & friendly even though they were very busy. It was easy to book other appointments with the front desk.

Patient care is her top priority. During my visits, she spent the time to listen and answer my questions. Her answers were thorough, thoughtful, and based in science. If she was ever unsure, she would research it and then get back to me. I always felt secure in knowing that I was in great hands. She is absolutely the best and am lucky to have her as my OBGYN. She also has a group of incredible nurses who are efficient and kind. Every time I have messaged them (either via the Memorialcare portal or over the phone), they have responded back within minutes to at most a couple hours even to questions that are not time sensitive. When I have an appointment, rarely do I have to wait. The nurses get me in and take my vitals and information. Dr. Karm is usually close behind. Overall, she is the best at what she does and has a great team of nurses. If you are lucky to have her as your OBGYN or even get to have an appointment with her, you've hit the jackpot!

I wanted to share my experience being a patient of Dr. Karm. In my opinion, Dr. Karm performed two…read morecervical biopsies on me without appropriate pain management. The first time she performed this procedure on me, she said told me to take an aspirin before I arrived. Then prior to taking the biopsy she told me it might "Pinch" or there might be some "Pressure." I didn't know what to expect since I had never had this procedure done outside of a surgical room under anesthesia with a previous doctor. After the experiencing this procedure with Dr. Karm, I found this procedure to be incredibly painful - and was really shocked that all I was provided was advice to take an aspirin prior to arriving. The second time Dr. Karm needed to perform a cervical biopsy on me, I asked her if I could have something for pain management and she said no because, "It's too quick of a procedure to justify needing pain management." She went on to explain that the pain management she could provide would take longer than the procedure itself, so she said she would not be providing pain management for my cervical biopsy for that reason. Taking an aspirin prior to having someone perform a biopsy that felt like having your cervix hole punched repeatedly was not proper pain management as far as my needs were concerned. In my experience, Dermatologists perform skin biopsies and Dentists pull teeth quickly, but both do so with appropriate pain management. I feel the amount of time it takes to perform a procedure does not equate to the level of pain management needed.

For example, I consider myself to be a pretty holistic person and I opted out of the anatomy ultra sound testing, I opted out of the diabetes test, Dr.Kizner respected my wishes which looking back I really appreciate. I also remember my contractions were killing me (3 days before my due date) and I'm so happy he told the hospital to take me in and get the process going. He was also spot on about the weight of my daughter when I went in for my appointments. Overall I had a wonderful experience, thank you Dr.Kizner

I am not antivax however need to know whats going on.  I was scheduled I think incorectly but the girls up front fixed it as a well woman visit which is fine.  Once with Dr Kizner, was immediately dismissed of concerns regarding the shot, so I shut down.  Went ahead with the exam and was told to undress like normal from waist down.  I have never been in the room with a Dr doing a pap for any legnth of time so thought that was odd, but a nurse finally joined us. Wasnt very gentle but figured it was due to this being my first in 3 years. Then Dr Kizner gets up and next thing I know hes pulling my shirt and bra up over my breast like we were in a car making out or something. 45 years old that has never happened.  The nurse saw the shock on my face and explained as hes doing the breast exam. He finally jumps in and mutters something. Sent for testing was not prepared for at all.  I knew it was a pelvic ultrasound but didnt find out until half way through that there is another part where they are actually putting something in you to take images. And what are you going to say? No. Your right in the middle of the exam.  The center I had the ultrasound done at called to check on me after and apparently Dr. Kizner is who was supposed to explain that?  Fast forward to today, I finally had a moment to set up an account with Dr. Kizners office, and find out that I have a cysts that he never mentioned when he called to go over the results? Thats scary. How do you miss that? Im not a doctor but I can read as Im sure by now he can.  I can understand Dr Kizner is a bit quirky but that is no excuse not to do your job.  Especially if you do your part. I sat through that awful exam that was very uncomfortable to have information witheld? This makes no sense and this is not ok.  This experience is recent and in trying to figure out why I was treated this way, I realized the why doesnt matter. As women, being dismissed is normal, especially women of color. But to specialize in the field of women and be dismissed, demeaned and have important information about your health withheld is not ok.

I chose Dr. Chao for my first OBGYN appt & I regret it so much. My appt was January 6 and I showed up to their old address. When I called the front desk to confirm I was at the correct location, the receptionist was very rude and abrupt when explaining I was at their old location. When I arrived at the right office, their demeanor wasn't any better in person. When I handed my filled out initial paperwork to the front, they took my forms without a word. They were so dismissive of me. When I went in to be seen by Dr. Chao, she only made conversation on the questions that were on my initial paperwork that I filled out for the front desk. Totally understand she might not have been a very social mood, but it just seemed she was uninterested in making me comfortable. She also made a few very rude & offensive comments: She asked me if my family had any history of illnesses or diseases and I let her know they don't. She responded with, "Really? None?" I said no and she asked me again which of course my response did not change. She then responded with, "Wow, lucky" very sarcastically as if I were lying to her. She also asked me about my husbands work & I let her know he is a Sr. Analyst for Optum Health & she asked me, "What does he analyze?" I had also mentioned he works from home and she immediately asked me, "Well why isn't he here with you?" & I responded that he needed to work. She made such a confused face and said nothing which was absolutely so condescending. She also asked my husbands ethnicity and I said he is white. She responds, "I don't know what that means." I said his family is German/European & she repeats that she doesn't know what that means....While doing my ultrasound, I had asked her if she happened to see twins since my husband and his dad are twins and & have twins in my family. She does the rudest thing and answers my question with questions: "Do you see two in there? Well didn't you already have an ultrasound? What did they say to you?" Her entire demeanor towards me was so offensive and off-putting & I really just wanted the appt to be over. At the time, I had thought I was 10 weeks but she said I was probably closer to 12 weeks. I later find out she never even bothered to confirm that or make any note or report of her estimation of my due date. When she wasn't doing my ultrasound, she spoke with her back to me. When I was finally done with her, I had to deal with the front desk girls again whos attitude had not changed. They handed me some paperwork and some kind of kit and let me know I could go home. I had to ask them what these forms and kit were that they gave me & one of them explained they were forms that had addresses and info to do blood and genetic work. They just expected for me to know what to do with them without explaining anything to me. I fortunately had found a midwife I LOVE but I come to find out they didn't have an ultrasound report from Dr. Chao because SHE NEVER WROTE ONE UP. This is my first child & I couldn't believe how poorly I was treated at this office. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone expecting & I would rate them negative 5 if I could. HORRIBLE.
