They towed my car prior to a large snow storm. I realized on Sunday and called, however, they are not open to return cars on weekends. I called at 8am (when they open) on Monday, the gentleman told me they were clearing the lot of snow and to come at 9am. I showed up at 9am to find no one was there and the lot was not cleaned of snow. 45 min later someone showed up, it was one man with a shovel. We had a language barrier but quickly figured he was not going to do anything. He handed me his phone to talk to what I assume is his manager. The manager now had no idea when the lot would be cleaned and gave me two options, to sit and wait until they show up and clean or come back later. I had now been standing in this lot for nearly 2 hours, had cleaned the snow off my car and contemplated shoveling my way out. After much back and forth it was agreed that once the snow was plowed, they who tow my car out of the lot so I could come back whenever, because keep in mind they close at 4pm. I can understand why my car was towed, but Mirage should be fully prepared to return cars to their owner when they arrive with payment in hand. I was parked in New Brunswick in a spot where people are constantly parking without issue--yet within 15 minutes, my car was towed. It felt like I was being targeted, even though I wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary. When I approached the tow truck drivers, I was calm and respectful. They were polite in return and told me it would be $150 to drop the car there or $300 once it went to the yard. I asked if they offered a military discount, and they said I'd need to call the number on the truck, as they couldn't make those decisions. When I called, the man who answered--whose name came up as Marco Lopez when I typed the number into Zelle--sounded like I'd just woken him up. He answered in a rude, dismissive tone, and when I asked about a military discount, he quickly cut me off with, "No, we don't," with zero respect or professionalism. As a veteran, that kind of response was incredibly disappointing. What made it even more frustrating was realizing that the man was Hispanic, like me. In a city like New Brunswick, where so many of us come from immigrant or working-class communities, you'd hope for some level of mutual respect and understanding. Especially in times like these--when so many are dealing with systemic pressure and challenges--being treated with such disregard by someone from your own community feels like a slap in the face. I wasn't being difficult--I was cooperative and respectful the entire time. I simply asked a question. It's disheartening to see that not even that level of decency is met with basic courtesy. I saw cars parked in what used to be TD Bank. It was a rainy night and dark. Parked my car with NY Plates and went to the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center. I did not notice a sign. Took my umbrella out and walked to nearby theatre. After show I intended to drive home. Unfortunately, my car was towed, along with the many others parked at same location. At the premise I stopped a tow truck from Mirage and asked if he could take me to pick up my car. I didn't have any way to get home to Staten Island. He told me to call a number and my car could be picked up on Sunday. Then he drove away. I called 911 to see if they could contact Mirage Towing. The officer I spoke to said they would call a taxi for me to get to Staten Island. But how would I get back on Sunday since I did not have a car? We are SENIORS from Staten Island that were STRANDED in New Brunswick. I was shocked and dismayed that no one showed one inkling for our safety. I should have been able to get my car the same evening they towed it. But we all know why that was not possible. First, this company should loose their license and be put out of business. Absolutely the worse - living in a complex where apparently cars are towed here or there - I'm guessing when they choose to do there rounds- THIS COMPANY IS HORRIBLE- current I'm looking at 4 vehicles wrongfully parked cars- & for more then a week , and still NO ONE HAS COME TO COLLECT ! I'm infuriated , but me being pregnant wrongfully parked - I was hit with a $360 fine - and they only take cash " convenience " .... come collect these cars and do more rounds .... According to the workers its like roulette text with pictures- they so call make there rounds take pictures and wait for confirmation to see if ither yes or no they get picked up - I leave my home for work at 5 am and I don't arrive back till 6:30 pm and it's a hassle especially being pregnant but I manage to find a parking even if I have to walk - if it wasn't a roulette with cars getting picked up - I would definitely park the way these people park - without thinking if I'm getting towed or not- I've called left messages and even text - no responses- read more

This company is the absolute worst they go around watching people so see who car to take I was at my moms house in New Brunswick nj when my brother went outside and saw a black van infront of my car and didn't think much of it then a Neighbor tells me that when the black can pulled off the tow truck pulls up right behind it to take my car... The landlord said when I come to put my mothers name and address on the windshield so that no one takes my car. EVEN with following instructions they still came and took my car and when me my neighbor & my mom catch them the man gave me two different prices to drop the car my friend asked them a question in English then the driver proceeded to say he doesn't understand and the guy was clearly Spanish so my friend talked to him in spanish and he said he didn't understand. my mom called one of the numbers that was on the truck later on & that number wasn't even in service..... On June 23, I visited a friend at The Standard apartment in New Brunswick at 10:03 pm. After parking, I went up to the apartment at 10:13 pm. I took the elevator down at 11:18 pm and discovered that my car had been taken within an hour or less. It seems someone was watching me. The sign indicated a fee of $185 for cars and $40 per day, but they charged me $320 for additional costs and its cash only. These people are scum bags and f*#%ing vouchers!!!! read more

These guys towed my daughter's vehicle on a Saturday night from the Rutgers area in New Brunswick. She ran into the tow truck operator later that evening and he told her she would not be able to pick her car up until Monday because they are closed on Sunday. That didn't sound correct to me, so we continued to call Police and they eventually told us we could pick the car up on Sunday. They tried scamming us for another day of storage at their facility. Literal criminals, I mean these dudes are literally like the hyenas from The Lion King with how insane they are. The fact that I made an account just to post this says a lot. My friend's car got towed from The Standard (also a blunder on the building's part due to them not clearly outlining guidelines for future resident parking and for contracting such a garbage company). Their listed business hours say they close at noon on Saturday, but they can still run around New Brunswick and tow cars well into the night. I cannot see how it's legal to engage in business activities (scurrying around New Brunswick towing cars) well outside business hours, especially when the inability to engage with people during business hours directly impacts how much people are paying to get their cars back (I.e. - that stupid daily fee). read more

this company towed my car. i paid close to 400 to get my car back. two front tires of my suv were damaged during towing. tires were scuffed/feathered because of negligence on their towing part. it cost me 650 dollars to get two new tires and get them aligned. they stopped accepting my calls when I asked for compensation for the damage to my car. i am working on officially filing complaint against this company. read more

It was so bad I had to grab my phone download this app, make an account just because the need to let the world know how BAD and money hungry these people is insane. My vehicle was legally parked and it's the only one of its kind in my apartment complex and they towed my vehicle and I have video proof of my pass being inside my vehicle. This company removed my vehicle from the parking lot at my complex over the weekend during the night...stating my vehicle did not have a property sticker on the windshield. Told me they are closed and I will need to pick up my vehicle from impound on Monday ... clearing I was being scammed because the sticker to my vehicle was on the windshield...I made numerous calls to management,the super and whomever else would listen. They are complete scammers, I experienced everything the people in the previous reviews have stated. The guy was so rude and hung up on me. When I I called back the next minute he claimed the call was disconnected. He pretends not to understand what you are saying whenever it is convenient to him. The driver and owner are the same people, he just claims it's not him and when I asked to speak to the owner he said no. He sent me a text message of the cost and would not disclose the location until then either. He charged me $440 cash, the place he towed my car from was less than 15 min away! BEWARE! This "business" is a scam. The "driver" Alex who I believe goes by Marko Lopez is close to the one in charge or is the one in charge. There's another individual by the name of John who is also involved but not sure to what extent. It looks like they run a similar "business". Marko Lopez aka "Mirage Towing" does NOT have an exact address for their business online. The one that does come up is a random house and another that comes up is an auto body shop. "Mirage Towing" are NOT registered with the BBB, they do NOT tell you where your car was located only where to pick it up. They offer to drop it off but of course you have to pay them $260 which is how they make their money because you either have to let them drop your car off to you or pick it up at some random location that they did not want tell me. . The people or person you speak with act like they don't understand you. They only accept CASH and do not tell you that beforehand. I paid $260 to a fake company to get my car back. My car was also taken illegally as I was in fact parked in a visitors parking lot per my friends contract at the apartment complex she lives at. I paid $260 to a guy who could barely understand me and who I could barely understand. I paid $260 to hear that "I'm just the driver, I don't know anything." Company towed a LEGALLY parked car: Car was towed from an apartment parking complex, and they did not notify the apartment complex of the incident. The parking tag, given by the apartment complex, was in fact correctly located on mirror according to management instructions and the company failed to take a detailed look at the tag. The car was taken to a lot for an entire weekend, and the apartment complex was never notified of the incident. Poor customer service: After getting in contact with the towing company, we were told we had 45 minutes to arrive at the lot and pay almost $400 in cash with no explanation for the charges prior to pick up, even after explaining that the car tow was a mistake. The representative on the phone blamed us for the missing tag (which was in fact there). Upon arriving at the lot, the tag was clearly hanging on the mirror.
