Since he is growing up so fast, we asked a library worker, whose name was Iris, to help us find age appropriate books for him. Iris was so thoughtful, kind and attentive to our praticular needs so we could get the correct books. She really went out of her way, and we were so grateful!. When we went to check out the books we had chosen, Briana was ready to serve us in that capacity as well, and made checking out the books a breeze! In this day and age of poor to terrible service at more and more businesses, it is always doublely wonderful to know that there are service people who actually like their jobs, and the clientele they serve, as well!! Please convey our sentiments to these wonderful librarians and let them know that their workers such as these two, are doing an excellent job!

I do wish they had more funding though because they don't have a lot of books. More often than not the book I want isn't offered there so I just keep settling on others. I love that there's a full fledged cafe downstairs with yummy food and bevs. Not to mention the plethora of outdoor seating in the courtyard to enjoy your bites and sips. As for the puzzle exchange, I'll be back to do a swap very soon :)

I'm embarrassed to say that I didn't even know that this library existed until recently. Big sisters Cole Library & Dove Library get all the shine, but the runt of the bunch is a 5-star facility in itself. I'm on the road a lot, so audiobooks keep me pleasantly distracted from the hours I spend in traffic. The Learning Center is such an untapped audiobook resource in the city - so many great titles just waiting to be checked out. In addition to their diverse (and bilingual) book collection, the Learning Center offers some very cool free programs for adults & students. Literacy services, volunteer tutoring, story-time, live musical performances, a small exhibit on loan from the Natural History Museum.... the list goes on, and it's all amazing. Staff is super friendly, upbeat, and helpful. It's pretty quiet during the day before school lets out, so it's a great peaceful alternative to the Cole & Dove.

The reason why I didn't give them 5 stars is because their front office staff double booked my room, making me wait an extra 20 minutes which was understandable I suppose, but when I asked to put my cell phone out by the front desk to send an important video on my phone as their rooms sometimes block the signal. I was told "i cannot watch your device". SMH. Bad enough you double booked my room, the least you could do is let me put my device down for 2 minutes to send an important video! wow.
