Great local library, computers available with scanning & printing! Very helpful staff!read more

This location is in a shopping plaza (dollar tree nearby) next to a police station. Staff was not super helpful. When asking how we got cards were directed to a computer, then given cards. Kidlet was mad they go the kiddie card (person did not ask) and so they didn't get a little library card also. This location is not very big and is a kind of hodge podge. It is one big open room that they tried to section off but it is mostly just grouped. They had a decent area for teens and the one really cool feature this library had that I had not seen anywhere else is on the spines of the books (in the kids section at least) they had a sticker that gave you a clue as to the genre of book. So a ghost for spooky, a unicorn for fantasy, a looking glass for mystery. Kidlet wanted help finding "spooky" books and it was easy to do a quick scan of the shelves to help figure that out. Restrooms are locked and need a key. Like many libraries there is a security guard in there. The one here was not in the front but was siting near a screen where you could look up books and was very intrusive. Overall not my favorite experience and will try and head to the main library for Oceanside which is closer to the freeway.

Nobody puts baby in a corner - the Learning Center is the lesser known Carlsbad library that's born…read moreto be a star! I'm embarrassed to say that I didn't even know that this library existed until recently. Big sisters Cole Library & Dove Library get all the shine, but the runt of the bunch is a 5-star facility in itself. I'm on the road a lot, so audiobooks keep me pleasantly distracted from the hours I spend in traffic. The Learning Center is such an untapped audiobook resource in the city - so many great titles just waiting to be checked out. In addition to their diverse (and bilingual) book collection, the Learning Center offers some very cool free programs for adults & students. Literacy services, volunteer tutoring, story-time, live musical performances, a small exhibit on loan from the Natural History Museum.... the list goes on, and it's all amazing. Staff is super friendly, upbeat, and helpful. It's pretty quiet during the day before school lets out, so it's a great peaceful alternative to the Cole & Dove.

For the most part, this place is great. Big rooms to study in and white boards if you want to use…read moreone of their three private rooms. The reason why I didn't give them 5 stars is because their front office staff double booked my room, making me wait an extra 20 minutes which was understandable I suppose, but when I asked to put my cell phone out by the front desk to send an important video on my phone as their rooms sometimes block the signal. I was told "i cannot watch your device". SMH. Bad enough you double booked my room, the least you could do is let me put my device down for 2 minutes to send an important video! wow. Learn to think outside the box! Color outside the lines--it makes more money and more innovation. Be flexible folks. Especially when you inconvenienced me.

They remodeled the reference desk and moved it to a different spot. It looks so modern now! I think the rest of the project was behind the scenes because everything else looks the same. I'm a big fan of this library. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Looking for something to do? Their calendar is full of activities for all age groups. Cheers to 2026!
