He came out and gave us an estimate on what it would take to pack up and move our things to storage as we're getting ready to sell our house. After the move was all over it was actually double what he quoted us. Now I understand it was just an estimate, and estimates can be off a little bit but his estimate was off by $3000. It wouldn't be so bad except for he sent, I believe, five or six workers. Only two of them worked the entire time they were there. I wish I had gotten the names of the two workers, because they were very hard-working and did not stop the entire time. Whereas the other guys had to be told numerous times to go do something. One was even sitting in the den in a chair on his phone for quite some time. Once we are ready to move into our new home, we will have to get our stuff out of storage. I will have to think long and hard as to whether I will use them again.

Then they gave me a quote. I scheduled a date and time for the move. The guys showed up with a big truck on the day of the move. They were friendly and assured me that the items will be loaded and moved safely. They handled the statues with care and carried them to the backyard and placed them where I wanted. The whole process was smooth and the movers were genuinely willing to help. Their moving costs were pretty reasonable. I am glad that I found reliable help with my moving needs. My BIL was finally moving out of my MIL's house. (It's killing me, but I'm keeping my snarkiness to myself though I will offer that he's 60). Since he has never done anything for himself, I researched and hired the movers for him. The prices for most of the movers that I contacted were pretty similar. What set Moving Hearts apart was that they are veteran owned. On moving day, one of the movers was on time, the other was quite a bit late, but true their word, they didn't charge until both were on the job. Some started charging the moment the truck left their facility. While we had already moved what we could fit into our van, for a two bedroom house, there was still quite a bit of stuff. The movers didn't anticipate the amount and they really should have sent a bigger truck. The move was local - 3.5 miles - one end of Old Monrovia Road to the other. It still took 2 1/2 hours, though some of the time was trying to fit everything into the too small truck. It was hot yet the movers didn't take a break - they worked their butts off. There was absolutely no damage on either end of the move - I've never experienced that, even with the most careful movers. They did a fantastic job. I would hire Moving Hearts again in a heartbeat.
