This was for my husband's first hearing aids and he has many concerns about how they would feel, if they would be noticeable, and how much they cost. I was concerned if we could watch television together without the volume up so high it hurt my ears. Previously, my husband had a hearing test with our insurer and he told me the hearing test and explanations were more extensive and concise with Julie at New Leaf Hearing. And he told me that Julie's explanations of the tests and the results were much more informative. Months later now, he is very happy with his hearing aids and glad he chose New Leaf Hearing. If he has any questions, all he has to do is call. Sometimes, I have to ask him if he has his hearing aids in because I cannot see them. She said that she recommended them highly and advised me to get a baseline hearing test. I called to see if they accepted my insurance and found out that the hearing test was no-charge. I can't tell you how impressed I was with Dr. Cory Tickle. He was truly focused and concerned about my issue and took the time to explain everything thoroughly and answer my questions. He is an extremely knowledgeable doctor. He is calm and reassuring, making the experience stress-free. He zeroed in on the problem and I walked out of there better than when I went in. While scheduling an appointment with a DIFFERENT audiologist this morning, I realized that I have not shared my HORRIBLE experience with the Hear USA Arvada location from 2023. Here goes: While I was surprised to learn when I needed help with my hearing aids in July 2023 that the practice was no longer a Hearing Rehab Center, I thought why not, I need help from and AuD? Bad decision. Dr. Jillian Anderson was initially helpful, but misdiagnosed a different dome for my aids that kept getting stuck in my right ear canal, which is slightly narrower than normal due to the shape of my skull. About a month later in mid-August 2023, the new dome prescribed by Dr. Anderson got painfully stuck in my right ear canal, and she saw me at once and removed it. But she did not change her prescription/recommendation for the hearing aid domes. About six weeks later in on Monday 10/6/2023, my right dome got painfully stuck again, and when I called the Arvada Hear USA location the receptionist (I believe Megan McPhillips) told me that Dr. Anderson was out of the office and offered an appointment to resolve my painful condition four days later on 10/13/2024. When I asked the receptionist for a referral to another audiologist, she was snippy with me, then accused ME of being snippy because I was asking for urgent audiology care, and eventually HUNG UP ON ME. On Monday 10/9/2023, I called around and eventually found another audiologist willing to see me the same day to help with my urgent, painful problem which was the result of Hear USA Dr. Anderson's misdiagnosis of my hearing issue and accompanying mis-prescription/recommendation of a hearing aid dome incompatible with my right ear. This AuD cared, unlike Hear USA, removed the painful dome, and recommended that I return to my former dome style that never caused any problems. I decided to NEVER visit any Hear USA locations again. When I requested a copy of my hearing medical records from Arvada Hear USA, the still-snippy receptionist delayed the production of these records on 10/10/2023 (which they are legally required to produce), and when I called back on 10/16/2023 to inquire about the production of my hearing medical records the snippy receptionist LIED and claimed that they had left multiple voicemail messages regarding those records -- which I never received on my phone number which has been my primary number since January 1993. About a week later, my hearing medical records finally arrived in the mail. I filed a complaint with Hear USA's national office regarding this situation on 10/16/2023, which went unanswered even to today. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. OTHER AUDIOLOGISTS CARE MORE. BE WARNED.
