My husband Matt B. and I rented bikes one day during our brief trip to Copenhagen, and wanted to explore some of the districts outside of the city center. Nørrebro seems to be Copenhagen's trendy, possibly hipster neighborhood, so we decided to get lunch there, choosing Mirabelle as our destination. It was a lovely café on a clean, charming street (though in all fairness, I saw no other kind in this city). The space was open and airy, with bright, cozy decor and tons of natural light. We got there around 2:30 on a Tuesday, so it wasn't especially busy, but the place still felt vibrant. There was a counter set up for a quick coffee/wine/pastry stop, but we opted to sit down and get table service. Our servers were friendly and unobtrusive, and we had a pleasant, casual meal. We started with a couple glasses of Italian wine--a solid Sangiovese for Matt, a funky orange wine for me (to be fair, this was how it was advertised). The lunch menu was short and simple, and we opted to share a Mirabelle antipasti plate and the fresh pasta of the day. The antipasti brought plenty of housemade charcuterie: a selection of cotto, coppa, and classic salted pork salami, along with a potent mound of chitterlings. There was also a side plate of accompaniments--marinated olives and preserved Italian vegetables, artichoke and eggplant and peppers--and some good, rustic bread. The pasta was excellent, a huge bowl of rigatoni with parmesan, prosciutto ragout, oregano, and grilled leeks. The rigatoni was cooked right, and I loved the hearty tomatoey ragout and the tender morsels of leek. It was a warm day, so we finished our lunch with a lemon granita, which was nice, if more sour and less refreshing than expected. We left full but not overstuffed, and were glad we shared everything, as the portions were surprisingly enormous. I liked Mirabelle. It was a cute place to grab an easy sit-down meal with wine. I'd recommend it if you're looking for a place to eat in Nørrebro. read more

Coffee Collective Coffee Housemade Raw Jersey Milk Yogurt with House Granola and Raw Honey Butter Croissant with Blueberry Jam Almond Croissant Chocolate Chip Cookie More than a little impressed by Bæst, Christian Puglisi's nearby ode to Charcuterie, Cheese and Pizza, it was thanks to Leckerbaer being on Summer break that Wednesday Breakfast plans once again saw the Bike pointed towards Nørrebro, a stop at Mirabelle not quite as pleasant as the experience at any of the Chef's other restaurants thanks to severely disinterested service but the food every bit as good as expected. Offering three-meals daily, early hours allowing the kitchen to focus on Sourdough production for Bæst, relæ and Manfred's while also using that same Starter to fashion a handful of Pastries and Loaves, it was just past 09h00 that a seat was taken alongside two visitors from Sweden at the back of the restaurant, the male half of the wait-staff quickly stopping by with a menu while his female counterpart sauntered around the room stonefaced, neither of them appearing to be particularly motivated by a 25% filled dining room and just a trickle of take-away window activity. Taking Puglisi's expected approach to doing things the 'right' way, both the menu and in-store signage reading like his "Book of Ideas" as it described concepts of cool fermentation in the production of Rye Bread and slowly raised Heritage Øland Wheat Flour used to create a collection of Croissants, it was after a lengthy wait as the two clerks chatted that the two most recently seated tables were greeted simultaneously, a few questions related to the "Pastry of the Day" and Oatmeal answered with the eventual order 173DKK for Two Pastries, a bowl of Yogurt, Coffee and a Cookie. Serving items as they are readied, most pre-made or simple in assemblage including a few sous-vide Egg plates, it was with a cup of nicely balanced brew from Coffee Collective in hand that two Croissants were carefully examined, the all-Butter version golden crisp on the exterior with an inside showing evidence of Sourdough bubbles disrupting typical lamination patterns while the one topped in Almond Paste and Confectioner's Sugar was good but not 'great' thanks to a bit too much filling which rendered the bottom a touch soft in texture. Rarely one to order a 'Parfait' at Breakfast, but so impressed by Bæst's Stracciatella that it seemed pertinent to taste Puglisi's stab at fresh Yogurt, it would be a fool's folly for anyone to pass on the sizable 55DKK Bowl served with Housemade Granola full of dried Berries and a jar of Raw Honey, the nearly stick-a-spoon-up-straight texture sour with a pronounced grassiness well met by toasted Grains, Seeds and Brown Sugar while the Chocolate Chip Cookie to follow was not quite as impressive as that at 108, but still quite good with melted discs of Dark Chocolate used in place of the traditional Chips giving it a smooth and balanced texture. read more

Lovely. This restaurant is how I got introduced to the art of Danish breads and pastries. Everything is very fresh, the aesthetic inside is very cozy (like everywhere else in Denmark), and the service is very polite and friendly. The kitchen is exposed, which allowed me to watch the bakers make the bread with much care. There were mostly communal tables which allowed for a sense of community, that I often do not get in the USA. The food is amazing. Its simple, elevated, yet unpretentious. It's the perfect place to grab something that warms the soul. read more

Really enjoy this shop. Same ownership as several other great spots like Baest and Manfreds, this is where the omnipresent sourdough is made - lived off the boulder sized loaf I bought here for a day and a half (solid 32 hours btw). It's pricey, like all of CPH but it's a lovely space with high quality food, music, and coffee (provided by coffee collective). Ownership group as a whole could work on service but it seems to be more of a CPH rather than restaurant group issue. The yogurt is outstanding and incredibly creamy; made from their internally owned farm and jersey cow. --Felt so connected to the area afterward! Haha-- The granola topping and small honey side lends a great contrast of sweetness and crunch to the opulent yogurt. read more

We enjoyed a nice little breakfast at Mirabelle one morning during our visit to Copenhagen. My boyfriend got the french toast, and I had the yogurt with granola. Everything was quite good! It's a little bit pricey, but I think it's worth stopping by if you have time. The seating is open concept, so we shared a table with another group, but the venue is bright and airy. They opened the front area to the street, since the weather was so nice. Definitely recommend. read more

The best egg breakfast in Copenhagen! Along with the best bread and pastries. It is clear the bakery values quality of food. The French toast is also very good, but the portion is small. So if you are hungry I recommend going for the egg breakfast. read more

I live right by Mirabelle and therefor rarely go there. However, today my caffeine-hungered friend convinced me to take a coffee break at the quaint cafe. The coffee had a lovely rounded flavor that I have to admit is better than my home-brew (read: the cheapest instant coffee), it was also a lot more photogenic. I do think the place is a little overpriced, but I guess that's just Copenhagen for you in general. The four stars are for the coffee and the atmosphere. read more

A completely new cafe near sankt Hans torv and in front of the empire bio. Not many cafés in Copenhagen have large windows with plenty of daylight pouring in like this one. I also like the concept of being a bakery / cafe. Who doesn't like coffee and baked goodies in one! There are also glass walls that separate the bakery work shop from the cafe. In this way one can watch into the bakery side and see the whole creation process. Quite cool! The interior was quite hip and clean looking. I love this scandinavian style blending a lot of white, light wood and bricks on the wall. The cappuccino was very good, but we didn't try any of their baked products. Maybe next time. There were lots of people coming and going even though it's pretty new so people already know about it. I definitely recommend it for a coffee on daytime. The service was a bit slow. I don't know if it was due to the large amount of people that day or because they are a new cafe. Something they could work on a bit. Generally a good experience and a cafe I would go back to! read more

Mirabelle - The bar - Bakeries Near Me - København N, 84

I've only been in this area to visit BRUS in the afternoon or evening so I'm not usually in the mood for sitting in a cafe at that point. At breakfast they have decent coffee and great croissants, as well as an interesting take on Eggs Benedict (135 DKK). Normally it would consist of eggs on English muffins and some blanched spinach; this one was on a bed of fresh spinach, perfectly cooked leek, and apple slices hiding a couple generous slices of rugbrød. It was fresh and delicious but don't expect its classic form. Service was a little off and they charge 25 DKK for a carafe of tap water, so they didn't get the full five stars. But I'm glad that I finally got to try it! read more

Nice place, and pretty good food, but overpriced and not very good service. I had the Mirabelle brunch with the Hindsholm. It consisted of two slices of bread, a modest amount of cheese and ham, a sausage, two strips of bacon, an egg, and a glass of apple juice. It cost 170 kroner. Tea or coffee was not included, so the total came to 200 kroner. I think that is a little steep for a fairly ordinary breakfast. I asked if I could get my egg scrambled instead of sunny side up. That was apparently completely unthinkable and impossible. Waiters/waitresses were not particularly attentive in general. read more

A perfect place for a beer and pastry after visiting Kierkegaard's grave! This gets a 5 for atmosphere! It is so hyggeligt and delightful. The place was hopping on a Saturday, but I still felt comfortable and there was plenty of space for everyone. I had a fastelavnsboller with raspberry filling and chocolate on top, which was the best fastelavensboller I've ever had! I also ordered a nice beer. My friend ordered a latte and she also seemed to like it! I would definitely recommend coming here, especially because it has so much seating, and huge windows to let the light in! The customer service was wonderful as well, the waitress wasn't a native Danish speaker either, so we practiced our Danish together! I would come here again in a heartbeat! read more

In all honesty. Great food, sincerely well produced and everything. But the service? It's so horrible that I question how they even manage to continue their business. Good and clear-cut example. Recently I entered the café, wanting to buy bread. The waitress at the counter barely notices me. She's apparently very much involved with another friend/customer who has already has been serviced, but was oh so keen to hear about their mutual holiday plans. I believe I stod there for about 15 minutes, before they said their goodbyes and I could order. To my surprise, the waitress does not even have the decency to apologize. Such a cute cafe on a fun street in Nørrebro. Get off Sankt Hans Torv and roll down towards the Empire signed building down Guldbergsgade. Mirabelle is charming as all get out - I'm in love with that tiled floor. When you open the door, just breathe in first. Smell. Fresh baked bread - baked RIGHT THERE tempts you immediately. The chokolade bolle (chocolate bun) is delicious - chewy with perfect texture, not just dough. Just enough chocolate, but not too sweet. Perfect with a large cappuccino to stay. Seriously - you have to stay, especially on a chilly day, but with light streaming through the large front windows. You can get more than just bread here too - lots of options for light frokost (lunch) or breakfast. I am charmed by the shelves and shelves and shelves full of beautiful preserves and pickled goods. Highly recommend this hyggelit cafe for a break with a friend while in Copenhagen. read more

Charming spot, easy corner location with available take away window but my experience was...only okay. Ordered apple juice, cappuccino, yogurt and almond croissant, they were out of almond so i chose sweet pastry instead. The "sweet pastry" was a croissant, topped with poppy seeds, and thin layer of some type of filing (date, fruit??...not sure). In my opinion, uninspired. The yogurt came topped with a layer of homemade granola, and a serving of honey which was quite good. The service was friendly but very slow, in spite of the fact that there were only about 4 other tables seated and 3-4 girls working. Even the table next to me was visibly annoyed at the lengthy of time it took to take their order. I will say that the take away window was steady, and it seemed like a friendly neighborhood place. Maybe I just got them on a bad day. The thing is we've had so many wonderful meals here in Copenhagen that I think you can do better than "just okay". read more
