In response to my previous review, an employee, Walter, called me and offered to have all of my booklets reprinted to my desire, free of charge, in less than 48 hours. I, of course, took him him up on the offer. I picked the booklets up just in time for when I needed them and they were perfect! I greatly appreciate the good customer service and I'll definitely be using this place for all my printing needs going forward. He also told me they typically have someone at the shop until 6pm, and in the future if I can't get there by 5 to just let them know. This makes things a helluva lot easier. Started out wanting a large poster for above the couch in my apartment. I had two huge artwork files that I was trying to decide between. Then it struck me: Why choose? Do 'em both! And there's also a big blank wall in the bedroom ... so now I was up to three 60" wide prints...and, ya know, there's this other 60" x 30" artwork that'll fit above the TV... and that side wall would be a great place for this other 36" x 38" image. So, yeah, I got carried away. I'm retired now, but I used to output big stuff like this for my employers back then through FedEx/Kinkos and a couple of different trade show display providers. Pricey stuff, but it wasn't my money. The other big issue is that what looks good colorwise on your monitor may look radically different when output. So doing it with an online service is a bit of a shot in the dark, particularly with a picky guy like me. But I think I had all my files reasonably close in color to where I was expecting them to be. I used my own little inkjet and glossy 8.5x11" photo paper to print proofs after repeated tweaks. So ... let's see what it would be. Two 60x68s, two 60x30s and one 36x38. Good news was costs seem more reasonable nowadays, bad news was it would still be not very reasonable seeing as how this would be coming out of MY pocket. I reckoned my old online go-tos would deliver the best pricing, but decided I should check with the local outputters cuz wouldn't it be nice to NOT have to wait for a nearly 6-foot tube in the mail that may or may not disappear when delivered to my apartment building. Shopped it around locally, and yep, pricier than my old regulars trade show jobbers. And all the ones I checked around Portland would have to send the jobs out anyway. But Minuteman Press Powell was the only shop that I found which could do those sizes in-house. Aaaaannnnnddd their pricing was better than anyone else, and I checked about a dozen different services local and online. So, with fingers crossed that this wasn't a TOO good to be true deal, I chose to give them my nearly one gig's worth of files in person on a thumb drive...and the little color photo proofs that I had printed off. Well I picked up all five jobs today, unfurled them, and everything was absolutely SPECTACULAR! Color depth and accuracy was even better than I had hoped...and I hoped A LOT! Just utterly SUPERB results. They're getting 5 stars from me, but they undeniably deserve at least dozen! read more

They did a good job printing a chart on foam for us. However, they charged us $70. I had it printed again at a different location and they charged me $35. If you want a better deal, go to the minuteman on 114th and Powell. Not sure how it could be so different. Will not go back. Update: the manager reached out to me and realized there was an error. They promptly fixed it and refunded the extra money charged. The product was great and customer service great in recognizing and fixing the error. Thank you so much! read more

Needed some for sale signs in color with graphics and pronto. They delivered and they were perfect.

I combed the internet trying to find the perfect invitations for our upcoming wedding. I searched high and low through many of the popular websites like Mint.com and Vistaprint, until I finally came across an invitation that I wanted to mimic that none of these sites offered. These sites also don't give much options to customize paper sizes so that became a deal breaker for me. Plus these sites charge an arm and a leg and I couldn't justify spending 700+ dollars on invitations alone. RIDICULOUS! After a few frustrating days researching invitation options online, I later decided to just take things into my own hands and design our wedding invitations by myself. After I came up with a design I was pleased with, the next step was to find a nearby print shop that could make my vision come to life. I found Minuteman Press via Yelp and reached out to them through their website and they quickly responded back to me with a quote on how much everything would cost. They also provided me FREE hard copy proofs of my invitation suite with different paper options that I could choose from, and were BEYOND helpful answering any questions I had. I was able to create my 4 set wedding invitation suite (800 total pieces including inserts) for under $200!!! The Minutemen Press staff were so friendly each time I went to visit them. Even when I went to pick up hard copy proofs and pick up my final order, I left each time with a smile on my face - pleased by their customer service. Shanell was absolutely AMAZING throughout my entire invitation planning process and is always so quick to respond. I've used Minuteman Press twice now for promotional materials and they've been fantastic both times. They were very accommodating to a tight schedule and went above and beyond what I was expecting. I needed some cards printed last-minute for an event where my team and I were showcasing one of our video games. They said they were booked up and would have time to print but not cut them, but that I could use their cutting station in the lobby and I was happy with that. I gave myself extra time before the event to cut the cards, but when I went to pick them up they had already cut them! I was so thrilled and had extra time to enjoy the beverages featured in the attached photo. I will use Minuteman Press for all of my printing needs henceforth. read more

Why oh why have I always just settled for the FedEx joint for printing?! Not only is this location close to my school/workplace, but they are loads better than that chain place. Ugh! Every summer, I get loads of items printed in color because my inkjet can't print papers that can stand up to the wringer my students put them through. I always hate bringing my digital files in since it will cost me so much. The two guys that worked with me at Minuteman a couple days ago were helpful, kind, and speedy. I was in and out of there within 10 minutes (if that) versus the 30 I spend in FedEx to print the same exact stash I did last summer. That and it cost me $10 instead of $15...and that was with a teacher discount at Fed Ex. I'll be hitting Minuteman up anytime I need some laserjet printing done with no questions asked. I went with Minuteman Press bc wanted to support a local business. This was the 2nd 1/2 of the project I had printed with them. Communication is terrible at this location. I entered my order and sent over files on a Wednesday. Those PDF files were initially accepted. Then 24 hours later, Thursday, I was told to send over different files that were in excel form because they wanted to create the PDF themselves. I updated the excel forms because I realized the # of letters counted one more than the # of envelopes. I was told I would get a quote and mock by Friday or Monday at the latest. Then not Friday, not Monday but Tuesday, I hear from them. Not with a quote but instead saying they're just going to use the original PDF's I sent the 6 days earlier, the previous Wednesday. And my order is still going to take another 5 days (the following Wednesday because of the memeorial day weekend). That is 2 weeks after I gave them the PDF files they ended up using! When I pointed that out, they said they would "rush it". Rush it?! My order was in there for 6 days already. Skip ahead to when I pick up, the order seemed small so I asked "Is this everything?" They confirmed it was everything. I got home Friday evening and went to stuff the envelopes. 1/4 of the printed envelopes were not there! The first 1/2 of the project I went with Fed Ex; they took the file, confirmed it all with me and and printed it. I picked up 2 days later. No hassle.No excessive back and forth. The printing with Minuteman was such a hassle. So much unnecessary back and forth. So many requests for files to be sent. Seemingly, it feels like the lack of communication between all the "departments" gums up the process of anything getting done. And no one seems to want to share with the client the real process of whats going on. And they don't show any care to their failings, no acknowledgement that they waited 6 days to supply a mock and quote. I should have just given my business to Fed Ex again, the girls there are so nice and so competent. read more

I am writing this review from my personal account, though my exceptional experiences with Powell MMP have been through our small business dealings. We have been engaging their services for 4 years or so.. I felt motivated to write this note to express our gratitude to this office and staff for not only for their consistent quality of their products, but also their friendliness...I'm not speaking of the lifeless, robotic pleasantries of customer service norms...it's been next level smiles, outgoing "how are you", and cheery emails from day one! Our owner likes the details to be finely tuned (as great bosses do) regarding our promotional products, and we put that amazing design team through the ringer with more edits and tweaks than I care to mention *cringe* lol...they were never annoyed and always sweet and positive with their responses. The one time there was a printing machine issue that resulted in a slight misprint, it was so graciously and promptly fixed it wasn't even a thing. Which I do think is really a telltale sign of a business as everyone is bound to make a mistake sometime, but how you handle it speaks volumes. My printer choose to stop working on me in the middle of printing my resume. *jaw drop* wth. I have an interview in an hour. I needed a resume and I needed it fast. I drove up, ran in, and I wish I had gotten her name, but was in such a rush to make this interview time I didn't get it. I handed her my flash drive, and she had copies made for me in under 10mins! Out the door, back in traffic and singing to Pandora. Great quality paper. Great service! Super fast! Oh, and I got the job! :) Then, a few months later, I needed their services again when I wanted to surprise my friend with a birthday cake in the shape of her favorite game. They again over at Minuteman Press were amazing. They took my flash, and helped me scale and get the perfect angles and measurements for me and my cake mission. I'd be able to carve & design the cake TO SCALE with COLOR for under $7 ! OH. and yeah, that was also for 4 color copies! I walked away with these prototypes in the perfect protective sleeve. I was impressed. Maybe because it was such a special occasion with a cake (its what I do) for someone special to me, or that the customer service gal was really taking the time to get a feel for what I was making so she could make the correct adjustments and stuff. I want to say Katie was who helped me, but really don't know for sure. I've been in a few times for 'odds & ends'. You can make your own copies with no assistance with ease at front. Its pretty simple. Everyone there is always helpful when I stop by. I like getting my fancy pants bond printer paper there and pens. Support local for sure. After having a not so awesome experience getting our save the dates online we decided to have our wedding invitations printed locally. This was one of the closest places to our house and after reading the reviews we thought we would give it a try. Sam was very helpful! He assisted us with picking out a good paper and they had lots of choices. We had concerns about a color printing right and it turned out beautifully. The test print was ready for our approval in just over a day and the actual printing job was finished so quick! The invitations turned out beautifully and we got them so quick plus the price that we got them for was more than awesome and I felt like we were really valued there. As a long time customer, I have to say, these guys are top notch. Several years ago my graphic designer recommended them for a project I was working on and I wasn't totally pleased with my last printer so I gave them the job. They impressed me from day one with their follow-up, attention to detail and an absolutely fair price. Once, when setting up a re-design for my new business cards, Walt suggested I put different photos on the back of the cards indicative of the many different genres of photography I participate in. We started with a series of ten and it became a popular "collect 'em all" with my better clients and gave me much greater exposure. Their customer service is second to none, you can call up with PMS color numbers and they don't have to put you on hold, they understand your language. Speedy, quality, affordable! What's not to like? I've gone to them for small jobs with some regularity and have always been pleased with their service. After a frustrating experience with a graphic designer who blew through two deadlines and was more than six weeks late with my wedding invitations, I insisted on using Minuteman figuring that I'd have them sooner even if I had to pay more. The designer was offering a quote from a cheap place they liked to use, but I'd have to wait for printing and shipping. Minuteman unwittingly swooped in and saved the day with surprise same day service and better pricing than the quote from the other "cheap" place! I say unwittingly because I didn't give them my sob story and didn't beg for speed, they were just that fast. I approved my proof at lunch and had my invites by 3:00! Lori Sofko, who owns the business with her husband Walter, saw it was a letter that would go into an envelope, so she pointed out their folding services.
