Let me be real with you - After reading the most recent Yelp reviews of the Florham Park location,…read moreI walked in this morning a bit nervous about my CAC scan at Summit Medical Group. I'd been scheduled for this scan by my primary care physician during my annual checkup exam, so I didn't see what Yelp had to say about Florham Park beforehand. Boy was I surprised when I looked online and saw all the 1-Stars and testimonials (!!!) Because of the timing, there was no backing out or way for me to schedule somewhere else. So I went in this morning with some trepidation. Fortunately I had a good patient experience overall. For imaging, I would definitely come back to the Florham Park location again (140 Park Ave Building). Pros: ** Easy to drive there off of Columbia Turnpike. It's close to FDU -Florham. ** Nice campus. It's huge with more than ample parking and even covered parking structures for bad weather ** Imaging department is located as soon as you enter the main entrance doors of 140. It will be to your left. ** The waiting room is nice and they had HGTV playing on the TV ** The woman at Registration was polite, friendly, and informative ** The technician who performed my scan was professional, knowledgeable, and patient with explaining to me what would happen (which I really appreciate) ** The facilities once you enter past the registration area, equipment, and rooms looked good to me. There's a hallway with blue flowers painted on the walls, and on the ceiling above the machine there are images of the sky and flowers (so you can focus on those and relax while you are being x-rayed). Cons: ** So far, none... It's too early for the results and billing didn't happen yet. Hopefully the results will be uploaded to the portal in a timely fashion (in contrast to a fellow Yelper's review from last month). I don't know if that's a Summit Health computer system thing or human error though. We'll see what happens. Again, I would definitely come back to the Florham Park location (140 Park Ave) in the future for imaging services.

BUT I would never go back as I STILL haven't received ALL of The results and it's been 10 days. The girl/ woman who answered the phone in imaging apparently shouldn't be as she was quite curt. I eventually called my Dr. and he called back to give me results. PS. I still see nothing in my "portal" and the girl said it will be uploaded . LOLOLOL. Sad that people who have jobs can't handle them. Thank goodness I go for most of my care at RWJ Barnabas as they know what they're doing . Sad sad sad world we live in today. If you don't advocate for yourself , you're basically well you know.......

I called multiple times for my meds and was told several times it was sent the pharmacy but the pharmacy never received it. And when I called back to check they said " oh we don't have anything on record for meds" even though they confirmed they sent it before, then I was given the run around between this location and the aftercare to get my prescription, transfer back and forth daily calls after my visit and I still didn't get my meds. And on top of that I was given the wrong diagnosis. When I followed up with the specialist I found out I had a fracture in my toe and that they said there was nothing wrong. Never going back to this place again. Very unprofessional

I must say that during this experience with Overlook my mom was treated with the highest level of professionalism, respect, dignity, and compassion. From the ER to the standard in patient rooms to the CCU she was fortunate to have been treated by amazing individuals including Doctors, nurses, aides, meal providers, maintenance, etc. I do have to reference several professionals that had a major impact during my mom's stays which were: Dr Jessie Wilt, one of the best professionals that i ever met in my life, with unlimited knowledge, respect, compassion and really just an amazing human being who truly cares! Nurses; Sidneia, Olivia CCU, Justin CCU, Megan CCU, Rae Mauro, Emily C., Sheryl, Jamell Quiles, Erika and Faith. To these individuals especially and to the entire staff and organization of the Hospital I would like to thank them for everything that they did to make my mom's last days the most comforting possible! In addition to three tests (Flu, Covid, and Strep), which all came out negative, she checked my lungs, my lymph nodes, etc. etc. She took the time to explain (and print out) what things I had been doing that I should continue, what I should change (and why). She also wrote out a scrip for an anti-biotic, for me to use just in case the new treatments do not have any effect after two more days. She even sent a scrip to my regular pharmacy for some things that are available over the counter, in case that would help me to get them with prescription coverage. So, overall: a great experience while I was feeling pretty crummy. She was professional and empathic. Much more than at urgent care locations, such as Carbon Health. My new go to plan will be to avoid "urgent care" places and go to CVS minute clinics instead.

As for the phlebotomists (people who draw blood) - most are so nice and gentle. 1 in particular was rude and incredibly arrogant last week. I've gotten blood taken maybe 6x here (I'm pregnant) and only recently experienced such unprofessional demeanor. Just a heads up to those with small veins / young children.
