Minus Moonshine is such a special gem. This non-alcoholic liquor store has a huge selection of de-alcoholized wines, bitters, canned cocktails, and more! I was honestly overwhelmed, in the best way. The owner, Aqxyl, explained each section of product in the store to us, and was so lovely to chat with. They have such an inspiring story and were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about every product in the shop. Aqxyl took the time to learn what we were celebrating and helped us pick the perfect non-alcoholic champagne to toast my first day of work, and it was amazing! The shop has such a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and you can tell a lot of care goes into curating the selection. This store is great! I found out about it while looking for mocktails at a liquor store nearby. The lady inside was so nice and educated me on the different types of adaptogens and was very knowledgeable about the selections. I saw this place on a TikTok account I follow and I was surprised I never heard of this place prior. The account owner is focused on sober options and even though that is not my lifestyle. I believe it should be cool to check for the future or just to be a more flexible host in the future. It is not the biggest space but they make do, filling the space with many options. If you go out to restaurants and look at the beverage menu, some of the non alcoholic brands they list are present in the store (Ghia, athletic brewing company, etc.). The variety ranges from dealcoholized wines, low abv beers, mixers, nonalcoholic spirits and similar. The person at the register was super nice and helpful to me and others in finding choices we may like. For the drinks they have tried, they weee descriptive in why you may like it (or not). And they also were knowledgeable in terms of the effects of some (mushrooms, THC, etc.) My one sad point is that at the time there were only a few single can/bottle choices so that you don't have to buy a 4 or 6 pack to taste something new. But they apparently have tastings as shown on the board outside. There is a $10 card minimum and you have to be 21+ to buy beverages since some are just low in alcohol. Overall, this is a place I can recommend to friends who are interested in delving more into the sober lifestyle. read more

Wanna do a dry January but know you may wanna a cocktail after a long day of adulting and you don't want to go outside and spend more of that hard earn adult money? Come here!! I stopped in a few times last year and got alcohol free can drinks that were really great. However, this time I wanted to get an alcohol free gin so I can make my G&T's or a gimlet. The owner of the spot, Aqxyl (Axel) was super cool. They even got my Beverley Hills Cop reference when we spoke...LOL! Anywho, they gave me a tasting of about 4 different brands of alcohol free gin. I loved the customer service. I ended up getting one their favs...Bare Zero Proof. I've already made my 1st G&T and I was definitely thinking that it couldn't be alcohol free. Very happy to make this place my go to for all things alcohol free. read more

I was telling a friend about a drink I tried and how I couldn't find it anywhere and she suggested Minus Moonshine!! We walked over and were greeted with great warm engery and a variety of nonacholoic beverages! If you don't drink or are interested in trying something different I highly suggest here! Neighborhood gem!!! Absolutely nothing that is not stellar about this place - the selection of quality, great-tasting, alcohol-free spirits is unmatched! Wandered into this gorgeous little storefront on a Friday evening and was greeted by the cutest store dog, Ruby, ever! The owner, Apryl, was around to show us some recommendations and we purchased some dry kombucha and IPAs. There are some really interesting mixers here, such as sparkling cactus water and jalapeño and blood orange! There are endless non-alchoholic selections packed into this cozy shop -- wines, beers, spritzes, ciders, spirits, cocktail mixers... Minus Moonshine has it all! I always find something new and surprising everytime I stop in (and I stop in a lot!). The staff are unbelievably welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable and Minus Moonshine has tasting events (and in-store sampling if you ask) so you can try different things out and get to know new products before purchasing. What a weird place!!! Everyone should go here. There really are so many potions that you've never seen before. I'm going to try every non-alcoholic rosé here. We got a gingery minty kombucha-like Moscow mule imitation, and I think it made me funny and cool? Beyond that, it just tasted good. Ruby the dog hangs out inside and is an absolute joy to behold. Had such a fun time shopping here before moving out of NYC. I came in quickly to stock my new bar, and the staff mobilized to help me find what I needed. So happy this store opened up near us! Full disclosure: I enjoy "the drink" but don't enjoy how it makes me feel the day after. This store sells all sorts of beverages that will make your tastebuds sing without the hangover. :) If you've been following NA craft beverages over the past few years, it's likely that you'll find everything you've seen online at this store and then some, which is awesome!
