Beautiful presentation

Hands down the best sushi in Lees Summit! Presentation, flavor and service are top notch and the atmosphere is calm with good vibes. We always try different rolls but always get edamame and crab Rangoon because they are consistently our favorites, they just do it right. If you customize your roll, they have no problem doing that as well. Very nice staff. This is our weekly go-to:)

Blaze roll is spicy and yummy

Really good sushi! I loved the Blaze roll, Daikon roll, and my mackerel nigiri. The service was wonderful, and the atmosphere is a good blend of cheery and calm. I would love to go back and try more dishes!

Kani Mix Salad

Small sushi place. Busy so that's a good sign. I tried the Kani Mix, Tempura Red Snapper, Fall in Love Roll, and the Narita Roll. The Kani Mix was your standard Krab salad was nicely decorated plate with sauces drizzled around the plate. The Tempura Red Snapper was flavorful with the sauces, batter was a little thin. Both sushi rolls were quality ingredients and tasty.

This is probably the best sushi restaurant I've ever been to. The restaurant was quaint and almost empty so I wasn't sure what to expect. There was a bit of a language barrier, but my order came out perfectly. All the food I had was amazing!!! I had a lobster roll, a shrimp tempura roll, and a combo fried rice. My wife's food was excellent as well. She had the crab rangoon and the spider roll. She also had the plum wine. It was also delicious and I had the Bahama Mama. If I had any criticism it would be to add more alcohol to the Bahama Mama. Everything else was absolutely perfect!!! We'll definitely be back!!!

Sushi and Sashimi Combo

The sushi was very good and the presentation artful. The atmosphere is very plain, but every table was full which to me means that they focus all of their attention on serving good food. Our server was excellent. He was kind, prompt, unobtrusive, and got the orders exactly right. They can skip the complimentary fried dough dessert...it was not great. Just a minor detail.

Not pictured - volcano roll, which was amazing! Finally sushi, after 8 long pregnant months, I was finally able to eat sushi! Haven't gone to Mint Sushi. So my MIL decided for us to try it & it sure didn't fail! Safe to say, I'll be asking for more sushi tomorrow. Only thing my MIL noted was she tried to order for pick up & they stated there would be a pick up charge. So she went in to order in person. All of the 4 rolls were amazing, but I could have been good without the blaze roll. Add a side of ponzu sauce and it took care of business.

Sushi Pizza (No Rice) (8 pcs) Shrimp Tempura Roll (8 pcs) Cheryl Roll (Deep Fried) (Soy Paper)(8-10 pcs) Lobster Roll (Soy Paper) (8-10 pcs)

Very consistent food and service. Haven't been let down yet. Fairly quiet and calm environment, kind employees. Not a huge building, and they don't ever seem to be super packed. Which is nice as a guest. Not sure how much business they get, but I definitely think they deserve more! I've tried a handful of Sushi places in town and this is hands down mine and my family's favorite!

Black Dragon Roll and Daikon Maki

Great little hole-in-the-wall that does a rip roaring take out business. Friendly, attentive staff. Food comes out quickly. I had the Black Dragon Roll, Daikon Maki which both were a beautifully presented and extremely fresh and delight to the taste buds. My partner is not a sushi lover and enjoy the red curry chicken. The appetizers, which are pretty much standard (good) crab rangoon and gyoza (pan fried) arrived at the table hot. The ambiance was fun. Pictures lining the walls of folks celebrating all kinds of occasions. Cute little strip mall favorite.

Deep Fried Crab and Deep Fried California Roll

Mint Sushi has considerable competition in the area in the way of sushi-hibachi style restaurants - for Sushi and Sushi Rolls and Sashimi I would choose Mint Sushi. Super White Tuna Sashimi was cold and tasty! Super White Tuna Sushi excellent! I decided on some deep fried Rice Rolls that I enjoyed very much. A California Roll and a Crab Roll. Service and Food Presentation were Good. The Ambiance is simple and unassuming. I see your carry out business is good as well! Thank You Mint Sushi!

Always delicious. Always clean…read more Always very welcoming. Great selection. No MSG All my family likes this place.

TLDR: 2 stars bc the food was ok, but still won't go back…read more I have ordered takeout and off the menu. I used to do the buffet, but got sick the last 2 times I tried it, so no more. This is one of the only places I can get honey sesame chicken though, so I continued to go here to order that from the menu. I hadn't been for quite a while due to a medical issue, and it turns out, I should have stayed away. From the moment I parked, it was a hot mess express. There were not enough handicapped spots for the # of businesses in the strip mall for starters, but that isn't really the restaurant's fault. On the plus side, they have redone the seating since I was last here and it was decently comfortable, but that's where the positive comments will end. The smell that hit me when I walked inside was horrendous, not a great start. I asked for a menu and the young women appeared VERY put out that I wanted to order from the menu; she kept saying "buffet" over and over, and I kept saying, "no, I need the menu please." I wanted to see if there was a combo for the honey sesame chicken. She finally brought over the menu and there was in fact a combo for the HSC, but all of the prices had been marked out with a sharpie. I pointed to the combo I wanted and asked how much and she gave me an odd look and raised her shoulders like she didn't understand me. I figure I was getting it anyway so I went ahead and ordered a coke and the HSC with fried rice; they have also always switched out the crab rangoon for an extra scoop of rice so I asked for that. The young lady took my order and left. A few minutes later, a young man brought me my drink and said. "no fried rice." I asked if he meant I could not sub it and he said "no fried rice, only white in combo." Me: "So let me get this straight, if I order the combo, I can't get fried rice?" Him: "no fried rice, only white rice. No 2 scoop." Me: "So I can't get rice instead of crab rangoon either?" Him: "no no no. No change, no fried rice." At this point I was super annoyed and just said fine, whatever. Just bring me the HSC for as cheap as you can. I'm hungry. The waitress came back with a gigantic plate, overflowing with HSC, and a teeny tiny little bowl of steamed rice, Not even enough for me to get full while sitting there in the restaurant, let alone enough to take home with the 2+ portions of HSC that were left over when I ran out of rice. You can't tell me it is less expensive to give a ridiculously large portion of chicken and minimal rice! I ate until I ran out of rice, never got a refill on my coke (they all ignored our table after dropping off the food), and left (still hungry) with 3/4 of the chicken in a take-out box, knowing I wouldn't eat it unless I bought rice to make. All of this, for the bargain price of almost $30, just for ONE PERSON! Never again.
