Yeah.... Think it's safe to say my family and I are done with this place. Too many chances we've given them and their food is always terrible and it's very disappointing. Especially when they're our closest and we try to support small local businesses. But it's not worth it. So stay away. The fish isn't fresh and their rolls just taste bad.

Mango roll #55. Mango's Paradise

Minori is tucked away just off Pico Blvd, in a small storefront, but the food is anything but obscure. Don't be discouraged by the outside--there are booths, tables, and a sushi bar inside. Service is handled well by someone who may be related to the owners. She is attentive and gets food to the table promptly. I've never been disappointed by the freshness of the seafood. Usually I order sashimi and a roll, but this time my friend and I ordered 2 rolls. Unfortunately, I didn't get a photo of the shrimp roll. Parking is scarce, but there are spots behind the business.

2.5 stars I rounded it to 3 ....was very disappointed to pay $16 for a Lunch Box with salmon teriyaki and to get a very tiny portion of salmon and rice. The service was very slow, there was one server and one sushi chef despite only two tables being served. It took us over 20 minutes to get a glass of water as I had to flag down the server to place an order. It made me sad the ambiance felt like what once was a vibrant place lost its pizzaz. Free parking in the back. The server was friendly and it made me upset to give them this rating but there are other sushi places that are much more generous with their portions so I was disappointed.

Shrimp and Vege Combination Tempura

Just north of Pico on Robertson, Minori sits quietly in a corner to an alley where you can find parking at the back. There is not much to the restaurant- it' actually feels a bit run down and old but it's clean and is open all day, so that makes it convenient. They have a big menu - from classic simple sushi/sashimi to fancy combination rolls. Not cheap but as good sushi goes, well priced. Their specialty rolls are good too and they've got ramens and tempura. Pretty much everything you can think of. We ordered a lot - what stood out most for me was the Spicy Tuna Crackers - very good. The Mango paradise roll was creative and unique. Their classic fatty yellow tail sushi was the best, generously cut and with just the amount of rice - loved it. Everything else was fine.....though with everything on their menu, next time, I'd skip the shrimp/vegetable tempura appetizer - they may have better things. Service was friendly, quick and attentive. All in all, a really good Robertson neighborhood find.

#63. Dynamite #28. Jessica, crispy rice & tuna.

Minori sushi is a must try for sushi lovers! We arrived at the restaurant at around 5:30-5:45 pm there was only one small group of people when we arrived, we were promptly greeted by a sweet woman & sat down with our menus, we spent about 15 minutes viewing the menus before anyone came back to us. (Honestly I think for this broad menu this was a good amount of time for someone who is indecisive & loves all types of food & likes to try new things). Everything tasted amazing. The calamari was so yummy & the rings were huge! The panko breading was a hit for me. The dynamite roll was insanely flavorful, with the scallops cooked to perfection. The Jessica roll was fresh & super tasty but it was missing something, I'm big on cream cheese in my sushi (don't hate me) but I would have added some to that roll if I had remembered. Last but not least the crispy rice & tuna, it was the star of the show, unexplainable just try it. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the attentiveness but honestly still worth the wait.

Chicken Teriyaki - comes with soup, salad, rice, veggies and an egg roll!

First time trying Minori and it won't be my last! I'm glad their chicken in the chicken teriyaki is white meat (I've found that so many other places with dark meat chicken is less meat and more fat). Was pleasantly surprised to find the chicken teriyaki came with an egg roll and veggies too! Wanted a simple roll since the chicken teriyaki was going to be filling - enjoyed the tuna roll. Can't wait to try their many special sushi rolls and other menu items! Pricing is very reasonable

Sushi special and spicy garlic edamame

This is my favorite sushi place! I have been many times. Everything is consistently delicious and the service is friendly and attentive. Try it out!

What a serious hidden gem. If you pass by Minori, you wouldn't bat an eye. It's a quaint little mom and pop shop, that is nothing extravagant, but the food is top notch! You won't find prices on good quality sushi like this anywhere else. I highly recommend anything from their lunch/dinner menu. That's where you'll get the most bang for your buck. I ordered the chirashi bowl and it came with miso soup/salad and around 10-12 thick pieces of fish. I also liked that they topped the bowl with some seaweed salad and red ginger.

Spyder Roll

I used to walk by here alot in the 90s and finally tried it out. I had an Asahi beer, Poke bowl, spyder roll and saba(mackerel)sushi costing me $50 total. It was very tasty and filling. The spyder roll was larger than at most sushi restaurants. Service was also fast but a negative is the Owner lady was rushing me to leave. There were only a few other customers and I wasn't there long. The other major negative was for an expensive sushi restaurant(bordering Beverly Hills)the interior and furniture is very drab and rundown. The place needs a major overhaul and interior update. Recommended sushi restaurant with the above qualifications.

First timer here! And I really enjoyed my dinner. My date and I walked in on a weekday around 8pm. Interior is unassuming and giving hole in the wall type of vibes- I like that. Servers were very kind and did not rush us to leave when they closed- I appreciate that. Beers were cold, sushi was fresh, service was fast- I will definitely come back!

One of the best sushi spots I've had a in a while actually. We didn't really do any appetizers and went straight in for the fish. Started off with a couple of hand rolls, we did the crab hand roll and O toro hand roll. Crab hand roll wasn't as impressive, I've had better to be honest. I didn't let that experience ruin it for me because the toro hand roll was delicious. I think they add a piece of mint and it complimented the hand roll. Very crunchy nori wrapper and good rice to fish ratio. For our sushi we started with chu toro tuna, salmon belly, and halibut. Super fresh melt in your mouth quality. Halibut was interesting with the truffle, first time definitely won't be the last. We ended it with red snapper and black snapper. Absolutely amazing, I think the black snapper or the red snapper was slightly charred. It was so good. To say the least, this restaurant was worth it!

When I made reservations on the phone I asked about the latest reservation and confirmed 10 pm - however I asked if I could sit at the bar and they said not at that time since they closed at 11. When we arrived, there was a couple coming in at 10 and sat at bar...maybe just miscommunication but tha could have prevented us from consuming our food quick and skipping on alcohol since the table we got was not the best. Sushi felt very fresh and there's something about the way they make the rolls that feels different about other places (not sure if in a good way) Great staff and sushi chefs- they were super fast moving from one course to the next one.

While the fish quality here is great, you will get more bites that seem a lot more experimental with flavors and garnishes. I didn't like every single bite but I expected that. A lot more focus on creative cocktails and drink pairings instead of just sake or wine. This is a great place to try Japanese whiskey, they even have little lockers where regular patrons can store their expensive bottles they've bought for when they return, and you are welcome to grab an additional drink and chill in the space afterwards if you'd like. The chefs here were a lot more personable and fun with more of a bar vibe than a traditional omakase. Service was great, dedicated bartender was great, and though it's not the best sushi I've ever tasted, I would still bring someone back here for a unique experience. Brought my friend here for her bday and we left full and happy and a little drunk so I'd say it was a successful night!

Such a shame because otherwise it would have been a great experience. But I cannot excuse them for allowing these other guys to just behave so rudely, like Neanderthal, and not say a thing.

It's the kind of place where you can slow down, enjoy your meal, and have a good conversation. The food was consistently good. Fresh ingredients, well-balanced flavors, and a few signature rolls that felt thoughtfully done without trying too hard. Service was another highlight--easygoing, attentive in a subtle way, and never intrusive. If I had to point out one thing, it would be that a few dishes didn't quite have that "wow" factor. But sometimes, I appreciate a place that simply gets everything right without overcomplicating it. Definitely somewhere I'd return to--and perhaps bring the right company next time.
