Ali and Warren, a husband and wife musical team, lead these amazing and inspiring music classes. It is by far one of the best things I have done for my son and we have been coming for over a year now. My son looks forward to these incredible group sessions and is absolutely in love with music all because of Mini Music. He is 16 months old and he dances and already tries to sing along. He looks at Ali and Warren like they are celebrities and is absolutely enthralled with them. Mini music was such a huge part of our lives when my son was a toddler up until he outgrew the class. Ali and Warren are awesome musicians and people! They created a warm, safe, loving environment for children and parents alike. I remember my son would run to them after every class and give them the biggest hugs. Their music is fun and rockin and listening to the CD's in the car (on repeat) was actually fun for the whole family.....we still sing some of the songs years later! I believe this early exposure to music is part of why Reed, now almost 8 years old, is studying the guitar and in choir at school. We/I still sing Mini Music songs years after taking Mini Music when my daughter was little. I loved their music so much I bought their cd's for each new session when we had to move from the north bay--Ali was nice enough to send them to me. It's a great and unique mix of all kinds of "kid" and "non-kid music" presented in a kid friendly way--but also with excellent musicians. The classes were very fun. My toddler daughter literally cried when the end of class came. So I'd recommend Mini Music, especially with Ali and Warren. I'm sure their other classes are great, if taught by other teachers. But we took the ones in Sebastopol with Ali/Warren and their toddler (at the time) son. read more

Probably my favorite way to hang with my toddler. At first, I was truly nervous to attend a music circle/ class with my kiddo. I was rolling my eyes in advance at the idea of mindlessly singing old nursery rhymes and tapping away at instruments. I was mostly worried because I LOVE music and I wanted to be able to show up to a music class genuinely with my sponge of a kid. I didn't want her to think I was just going through the motions. Especially in a social and learning environment having to do with something we cherish so much as parents, music! I was SOOOO blown away by my first time attending class with Ali and Warren. It's not about just killing an hour or so in the name of "music". They are truly TEACHING music theory to these little ones (and the adults) in a totally sweet, fun and engaging way. I'm all in now. We make sure to sign up each session. I am already sad at the idea of one my almost 2 year old growing out of music class in a couple of years. I really do treasure this class. Mini music is the best. Ali and Warren take music classes for children to a whole new level. My granddaughter and I have enjoyed 3 years of singing, dancing, learning about rhythm, playing instruments and making new friends. She evolved from a shy 1 year old to a 5 year old who sings all day long. We really feel that we scored when we found Ali and Warren and their mini music. They are such great educators and amazing, thoughtful and nurturing mentors. We had been taking the Corte Madera classes but we couldn't resist going to Sebastopol for our last class before Kindergarten begins. Both are outside in beautiful areas. I have watched so many little ones blossom as they recognize songs and begin to understand rhythm. This was just the personalized music class that I was looking for...I feel so fortunate that this amazing musical duo came into our lives at just the right time. When we enrolled to mini music last Spring session, we did not know what to expect but I can confidently say that our toddlers love going there! We listen to their cd almost every time were in the car and they look forward to going to class. It is definitely worth enrolling at. That seems like a simple statement, but these once-a-week-45-minute classes have facilitated an instrumental shift in my boy's development; the gentle introduction to a class-type setting, the chance to move freely amongst other littles to both develop and practice social skills, and the music! My daughter and I started Mini Music over two years ago. She was two then and at four, music is one of her main ways to play (a.k.a. learn). I highly recommend Mini Music to anyone who wants their child to be exposed to music early. Mini Music is a professional, fun and enjoyable experience for both child and parent/caregiver. Each music class is truly like a performance. The songs for the day are all planned and are varied each week to learn all the songs from the session. Also, each song has some action for the children, which engages multiple senses to help them learn. You get a professional CD that is filled with beautiful songs, some new, some old, some original and some classics - all beautiful. Not one makes me want to switch it to the next song, unlike most children's music. Not only has being in this class increased my daughter's confidence and desire to sing, it has also increased my confidence to sing out loud besides my car. It has also helped us bond, in and out of class. It's quite thrilling to hear my four year old make up her own songs, use new words in songs she already knows, or just belt out a tune as easily as she can talk. read more

Great class! We have really enjoyed this session. My LO struggled with class environments and so I was really worried about how this was going to work out. But very soon he adjusted and loves his music class! I think the personalized CD also was a great tool in helping him to get into the routine and feel comfortable.
