Mark has been my son's tutor, a junior at Analy, for math and chemistry for this whole school year…read more He has been an excellent tutor/teacher to my son, as well as a mentor. He is always available to discuss concerns I have and my son's progress with me. He even met with his math teacher, early in the year to better understand his teaching philosophy and how he conducts his class. My son is an athlete who has a difficult schedule to work around, but Mark worked hard to accommodate him. Mark has the option of in-person or virtual sessions, which were great for my son and he used both about equally. Amazingly enough, Mark also encouraged my son, to call him with any additional questions after sessions. I can't rave enough about Mark's skill as a tutor and the relationship he has fostered with my son. Lisa P.

So in addition to great local food and beverages, we went camping on the North coast, hiked the redwoods, tok a scenic flight to the coast and back, and wandered through the city. All the great things this place has to offer. In addition he wanted to learn how to play guitar and surf. I helped him with the surfing part and Mark gave him lessons for the month that he was here. They had sessions twice a week and after the second week he was playing a few basic songs. When asked why he was doing so well with this he replied. "Mark is an excellent instructor. He is passionate about his job and loves what he is doing. He is also a vey kind and patient teacher. He takes his time with me and makes me feel relaxed and comfortable. No pressure, just a positive learning environment." Not only did he learn how to play the guitar, he had a fun time doing it! Couldn't ask for more!

December 30, 2021: I have literally been researching, auditioning and shopping for a digital piano…read moresince September 2020. Most musical instrument retailers have floor samples of the big three: Roland, Yamaha, Casio. All of those I tried didn't satisfy for various and personally important reasons. Mostly like the keyboard didn't feel like an acoustic piano or the simulated piano sounds were too fake electronic. Was motivated to visit as Stanroy is a Kawai digital piano authorized seller which no other local sellers carry. I've been an occasional Stanroy customer since 1973. In the dark distant past I have purchased guitars, amplifiers, percussion instruments, even a few real German made pear wood recorders. But it's been decades since my last purchase. Was always satisfied with the shopping and purchasing process. Today, played the Kawai KDP-120 digital piano. Keyboard action feels like a "real" piano. The sound models are remarkably pleasing. Close your eyes and you'd be hard pressed to hear that it's digital. The construction is solid. Industry reputation for reliability is excellent. MSRP for the piano is $1599. Stanroy price = $1199. Sold! Nice folks. Stanroy is a real musical instrument store in that they sell and service orchestral instruments. Only place in Sonoma County you can buy a trombone, trumpet, piccolo or French horn. All the other shops (which I also love) are basically electric guitar stores with amps, a few synthesizer keyboards , DJ tables, PA systems, one drum set, and the panoply of electronic gizmos for rock n' rollers. Stanroy, it's been too long since my previous visit until today. I promise not to stay away too long again. Highest recommendation.

Nobody mentioned a fee for a trial…read morelesson when I made the appointment and looking through my emails you didn't mention the $45 fee for anything until after we missed the appointment. I would have driven all the way to you just to turn around and leave because of your fee that wasn't disclosed upfront. Most local studios and private teachers I have found to offer an initial lesson for free to see if it is a good fit. If that's is not the case with you it would be a much better business practice to be a little more upfront in the future. It feels incredibly dishonest.
