I recently purchased a new truck from Southtown Dodge (Do not buy a vehicle from them unless you like being treated like an idiot) and brought it to Ming shine to have it covered in 3m and undercoated instead of paying the Southtown stealership twice as much to do the same job. I would recommend Ming for sure, they gave me the quote broken down by the section that would be 3M'd and I chose which sections I wanted done. Easy. It was also recommended to keep the truck parked inside their shop for an extra day in the warmth so they could make sure the undercoating adhered properly. That made me feel like they actually care and take pride in their work. They also noticed a small chip in the windshield and repaired it free of charge and when I was paying I asked if they did window tinting and he said yes we do and then handed me a $100 coupon for tinting! Check your HVAC system before you leave this shop! Missed posting Feb 2/18 update to this site; sent letter to Ming with these details: Dec. 29 Picked car up from mechanical shop after ignition repair (car had been stolen Dec 6). It was -30ºC that day; car had been "cleaned" (150.00 charge) immediately prior to my picking it up; windows all frosted up. HVAC working. (drove 9.5 km to home). Mechanical Report from shows HVAC working when car taken in; odometer reading 163035. Cleaning solution used extremely offensive; caused nausea, vomiting, vertigo. Drove car very little, hoped odor would dissipate in time but it didn't. Got OK from insurance to take it elsewhere to have odor removed. Jan.18 Did research online re ozone treatment; saw great reviews for Ming, took car in for treatment. It didn't help, so no charge - was impressed with honesty. (Assumed, as per info online venting and circulation would have been turned on during ozone treatment). Jan. 24 Got another OK from insurance company for professional interior detailing (299.00); left car overnight to make sure upholstery/rugs would be dry. Picked car up next day (-22ºC) and within a few blocks found out no defog, no heater fan - nothing. Phoned Ming enroute to home: response was : "Are you sure it was working when you brought it in?" and "I don't think it's anything we could have done". No further communication with Ming until negative review posted; insurance company advised I would have to prove Ming negligent. I've been driving this car since 2002, NEVER a problem with anything mechanical, NEVER a problem with HVAC. (good year for Hondas it seems!!) Feb. 2 Odometer reading today: 163143. Since Dec. 29 I have driven 108 km; this includes 9.5 km return trip from mechanical shop and 2 trips to MIng and back, 36 km (in -7ºC). I don't think too many Edmontonians drive around with no heat or defrost in the winter. I certainly don't. (Direct quote from letter to Ming): How exactly would you propose that I "prove" to you my HVAC system was working before your "cleaning" process? Further, how do you propose that I find a reliable place to have an estimate/repair work done? My car is sitting here all frozen up and undriveable because 2 shops with stellar ratings have already screwed up; ask me how confident I feel picking a 3rd place to fix the problems caused by 2 other shops. Because you apparently haven't had this particular problem before, the insinuation is that my integrity, or judgment is in question. I've been reminded that older cars are more vulnerable to damage than new cars; damage from what? cleaning? Is your shop not able to clean older vehicles without resultant damage? Why is the onus on me to try to guess how you fried my HVAC? I'd guess water was shot onto the front mats to clean them; is that a good guess? Old car, who cares? Would you like to have me post pictures of the interior "cleaning" job, along with the Mechanical Report (not all 16 pages - only 2), and the odometer reading as shown on the Repair Warranty? (End of direct quote) I'm not the one at fault here. UPDATE - March 18th The odor from Shop#1 is finally almost gone today, 2-1/2 months after your "interior cleaning/detailing". Odors from your cleaning lingers on. As per a Honda mechanic there is no way to "prove" how the heater/climate control module was fried; all I know is it worked when it went into your shop and didn't work when it came out. read more

I'd give them 5 stars if they did not forget to install rear bumper strip luggage strip) on my car. I brought my car in for high way package which includes: fenders, front bumper, mirrors, hood and rear bumper strip. I picked up the car and I realized the rear bumper strip was not install. The tech missed it even though it was listed on the paper work. This company opens 8 to 4:30 sharp on weekdays. Closed on weekends. I cannot miss work to bring the car in to get the missing piece installed. I had to arrange my friend to drive me to work and bring the car in with an appointment to get it installed. The is troublesome and very inconvenient for me. Other than that, everything else looks good on the vehicle so far. read more

Having purchased a new Volkswagen I wanted to have both the interior and exterior protected. We took our Audi to Ming so that they could complete a polish, some of the vehicle was freshly painted. Instead they over polished in areas....a series of small areas right through to the primer and decided to polish the rubber trim too...great idea right? Not a big deal at first..they admitted fault and said they would fix it. Instead they completed a crappy repaint....runs, dust and overspray. They have tried and failed and all we want is to be reimbursed for the initial paint job they screwed up but they just want to keep trying to fix it until they hope to get it right. The definition of insanity is to keep trying expecting different results! If you care about your vehicle....take it somewhere else! read more
