I visited the buffet on 6/26 and I am sad to say that the food was dry and lacking in flavor. Overall, the service was mediocre - I got rang up at the front upon entry and had no contact with the waitstaff after that. The price (I believe I paid $8.98) was not bad for a buffet, but the selection was limited. There was a small salad bar, about 8 plates of sushi rolls (at least 3 of which were empty while I was there) and, to my memory, 2 hot bars. I tried the sweet and sour chicken, which was dry and tough. I also had chicken with broccoli, which didn't have any discernible flavor. I tried a couple of California rolls but stopped after just two - they were flavorless and gummy and not worth eating. Overall, this was disappointing and I won't return. read more

Very, very reasonably priced. The egg drop soup was actually quite good; possibly the best part of the meal. The food overall was average, but certainly not the worst I've ever had. We weren't impressed by the fried rice, but the Moo goo Gai Pan was really good and the chicken seems to be higher quality than most Chinese places. It was ok though a bit high priced for what you get. They have a wider selection of sushi on the buffet than other places but key items like sesame chicken seem a bit watered down. For the price, ($8.50 for all you can eat lunch buffet!) this place is awesome! The selection is vast, and they keep the self serve buffet tables well stocked. Their sushi rolls are pretty fancy for this type of establishment, and choices include a lot of variety. During the lunch hour, this place seems pretty busy, so I'm assuming that I'm not the only person in town who loves this place! Service was non-existent - even unfriendly. The food was so-so. Nothing to write home about. We walked in and we were not greeted. The man behind the counter (in chef's garb) was busy with take-out orders. We were left standing. There was a multitude of staff working. Nonetheless, we were left standing. There were no signs posted to indicate whether we were to wait or seat ourselves. The person I was with had disabilities, and standing was painful for her. After a few minutes we decided to seat ourselves - or at least try to get her off her feet. That is when the counterman decided to speak to me - ordered me to return - in a tone which was not at all pleasant. He seemed aggravated that I would not wait for him to take my money when HE was ready for me. He was not friendly. In fact, he was surly. When he took my money, he was not pleasant at all. No "thank you." Usually, as a customer, when I have money in my hand I am offended by a surly attitude. The food was OK. Average. Nothing outstanding. Much of it was cold. I ate what was left of the salmon and green beans. They were not replaced. I guess that is all I was allowed to have. The salad bar had very few items with which to make a salad. The lettuce was torn "palm sized." I dislike having to cut my salad to such a degree in order to consume it. Our used plates stayed at our table until they were stacked 5 high. They were finally picked up, but the soup bowl was left. The staff was sitting at the front tables, 4 to 6 at a time talking. I guess that gave them little time for checking our table. We were treated by staff as though we were invisible. I passed a staff member in the isle, smiled, and she looked right through me. I do not like that!! Half-way through our meal, the family of the owner and staff, about 8 to 10 people with children, decided that it was time for their dinner. They chose tables in our isle, two or three tables down. The huge restaurant was empty. It was not pleasant. What set in motion this bad experience was the ill treatment that we received at the beginning of our dining experience from the man in the chef's uniform. It just got worse from there. When I pay for a meal, I do not expect to be treated as though I am a pain in the ass by the owner or that I do not exist by his staff. Maybe it appeared to them as though I was just a local rube wearing jeans and a Harley tee. Sometimes people wearing jeans and a Harley tee hold Master's degrees and don't appreciate boorish, indifferent service and cold food. Sometimes they write internet reviews. Sometimes they have restaurant blogs! SKIP THIS PLACE UNTIL THEY REALIZE THAT THEIR CUSTOMERS ARE IMPORTANT. I usually eat at Hong Kong for a quick, inexpensive meal. We live near Jasper and have no problem driving 40-50 mins for their food...I think they are just amazing...food is always hot and my belly is full and satisfied when we leave....so not sure why anyone would have an issue with this place...thx read more

Although we hadn't eaten here before, we took a chance and walked in. I don't think we will return. It is very reasonably priced and looked well maintained, clean and orderly. The food was on the downside when we came in apparently, because a lot of it was cool/cold. Fried rice had hard pieces and I actually cracked a tooth. The fried fish was hard. The meat that my husband excitedly took a bite of was nothing but gristle and bone covered in sauce. Horrible. I enjoyed my meal (before the cracked tooth) as I am a Vegetarian, but it's just not worth going back for my husband to be so disappointed. He did enjoy the Sesame Chicken. I know that a lot of what went wrong was bad timing, but if there is food on a buffet, it should be edible. Had we come earlier perhaps it would have been hotter, but you can't make a rib bone vanish nor can the gristle disappear. Been eating here for years. Price can't be beat. No extra beverage charge scamming, it's all included. Beats the pants off other buffets in the area.
