Lots of Chineese places seem to have forgotten in recent years that mongolian beef is served with crunchies, and very lightly "breaded" and fried. Theirs was aces. Really liked this place. It is the quintessential American Chinese restaurant you know the foods going to be good at. Like the decorations, music playing, everything reminded me of the Chinese places back in SF, plus the prices are sooooo fair. Like you get good food for a decent price. Got something simple for first time: Wor Wonton soup and fried wontons (had hour drive home so needed a snacky). Super good. Fried wontons were fired perfect, sweet and sour sauce was normal, made ride home awesome. Wor Wonton soup was best version I've had so far here in Georgia. Wish had some more shrimp, a lil beef woulda been good, and a couple more wontons. But flavor was there (had to add white pepper and soy for my own tastes) but veggies were good, velvet chicken in it was awesome, pork was good too. Will get again for sure. Lady at counter was super nice, was taking orders, ringing people up, and made sure order was right. She is a gem and I'm sure it's why they do good business. Peking Garden is a must have for my family and always has been. I've been eating here since I was a child and have always loved it. We eat it at least once a month or more if we are able. They have the BEST noodles around! The sesame chicken and Mongolian chicken is our favorite, but the Happy Family is delicious too. All depends on what you are in the mood for. Moved here shortly and ordered for pick up egg drop soup and wonton soup. Got home and gave everyone their orders, looked at the wonton soup, there was not "folded up" noodle with meat in it! This is the first time in my life I've ordered wonton soup and didn't have pork in it - and the soup itself wasn't golden brown or brown and had hardly any taste - the price is rather high considering there isn't any meat The noodles were just flat pieces and not even folded up. The food was good HOWEVER WHAT A HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!! the Asian lady was absolutely rude when we first asked something about the menu we didn't know. She laughed at us and talked to us like we were stupid and was saying "you know you just ordered three meals right" i asked what do the meals come with (bc it doesn't say in the menu) and that's when she said "fried rice only" I said "okay you could of said that instead of talking to us that way". Then we asked for "hot sauce or siracha" she replied "no just hot sauce and said this is a Chinese restaurant okay we don't have that". It seems like every time I crave for Chinese food, it's always raining. But anyway, my husband and I came here on a rainy night an hour before they closed. The place was nicely decorated although most of the seats were worn out. We were the only customers then, so we didn't wait at all to get served. We ordered what was on their menu but requested a minimal variation and was very surprised they didn't have green onions! What Chinese restaurant doesn't have green onions? Anyway, our orders came and the Mongolian Chicken I ordered was almost inedible! The sauce was soooo salty it tasted like sea water! Thankfully, my husband's meal was decent. I probably wouldn't go back to this place. There is another Chinese restaurant close by which I haven't tried. Maybe that'll be my next stop. read more

Amazing value on their lunch menu, with plenty of meat in the dish and well balanced sides. Service is prompt and food comes out quickly. Plenty of seating and nice decor round out the place. We have been coming here for many years when we travel to our home in Blairsville. Their food has always been consistently delicious for both dine in and carry out service. Last night, however, was not good. We ordered egg foo young, hot and sour soup, and garlic chicken. We ordered take out and brought it with us to Blairsville about an hour away. Once there we unboxed, warmed, and served it, and it was nothing how we remembered it before except the names. The egg foo young had little flavor and except for the occasional onion piece or broccoli particle, it had very little vegetable. The hot and sour soup had an over powering vinegar flavor but lacked a depth of flavor. The garlic chicken also lacked the variety and quantity of vegetables in addition to the lack of garlic flavor. Overall this evenings food missed the mark completely where this restaurant has always scored perfect scores in the past! We hope this was just an odd experience. If this is however an adaptation to post Covid food prices and staffing, then please look for a different solution. read more

Attentive staff, clean environment, quick service, DELICIOUS food (Dragon + Phoenix and General Zao's chicken - including soups, egg roll + choice of fried or white rice). Portions were generous (had to take 1/2 of mine home) and prices reasonable. We ordered from lunch menu and it was $19. for 2 of us. This is the best chinese food restaurant we have found in the N. Ga. mountains since moving here 4 years ago. We will definitely go back. Go ahead and give Peking Garden a try! read more

We went for lunch. Included is your choice of soup and also a pot of hot tea for the table. I got the tofu and vegetables which was cooked with the veggies still crisp. The hot and sour soup was so good I could eat just a big bowl of that. Enough food is served that you have leftovers to enjoy at home. The server especially was super nice and on the ball. He even put our leftovers in the container for us! Prices are reasonable. Happy to come back soon! Felt very welcome here. read more

Stopped in after the apple festival, was the only couple for about 20 minutes then started filling up. Excellent service , quick, hot and fresh. We ate out here for family dinner for the 1st time last week after living in Jasper since 2021. The food was amazing. The only confusing item was the crab Rangoon just wasn't like any I'd ever had before but was still very tasty. Service was good and they have a beautiful fish tank set up, we could see it from our table and enjoyed the fish a lot. read more

This is the best Chinese food I've had in many years. You are greeted with hot tea and water. Their food is prepared fresh and the sauces are so delicious. Unlike most places that fill their dishes with mostly green peppers and onions Peking actually still uses bamboo shoots and water chestnuts along with peppers onions broccoli and snow peas. None of the vegetables are soggy like the dish was pre-made. Their chicken dishes are made with beautiful white meat chicken. The service is always friendly and warm. Even though it's in a small strip mall the atmosphere is perfect for family or date night. I live an hour away but look for any excuse to go through Jasper to eat here. read more

Traditional Chinese menu and service... this little gem of a restaurant is tucked away in a strip shopping mall backed up to the 4 lane so it's hard to find but well worth the search It was a great to have a hot pot of tea set down in front of us without even asking on a chilly day. Perfect and attentive service is hard to find but it was nice to be treated to a relaxing meal while being checked on and having our tea cups constantly refilled. We had the triple Mongolian dinner and the king pao shrimp- so good. Both were well flavored and served hot. Can't wait to go back!!! read more

We placed a to go order for our first time here. We had Shrimp fried rice, egg rolls, and Kung Pao Chicken. It was just okay. Not gross but not great either. It just didn't have any flavor to it. My family and I dined in Friday night 11/25/22. We each ordered a combo. I did not receive much fried rice with my meal. At the end of the meal I asked for a to go box for the rest of the chicken and some extra fried rice. mind you, im not asking for FREE fried rice. I was more than willing to pay for the extra. I was told NO because I ordered the combo. plus the fact they had already run the ticket WITHOUT even asking if we needed anything else before closing out the ticket. please tell me what is so difficult in providing me with another order of fried rice and rerunning the ticket with the addition. It was completely unreasonable on their part. Again, I wasn't asking for anything free. Not sure I will be back to this restaurant. read more
