I called them to ask how come we didn't get a forks or spoons and this lady told me that "she does not put forks or spoons unless the customer asks"! How are we supposed to eat?! Always put utensils in the bag lady! Paid almost $70 for our food with tip and we can't even eat our food cause we don't have no utensils! Ended up buying utensils from gas station so we can eat. The food wasn't even that good and does not look good and too expensive for a fried rice, one burnt spring roll and a little meat. We should have never stopped at this place!

The menu is packed with classic like Hot & Sour Soup, Sweet and Sour Pork, Mongolian Beef, and the crowd favorite Honey Walnut Shrimp. Everything tastes fresh and comes out quickly, which is perfect if you're on a lunch break or just hungry after a long day. The atmosphere is cozy and casual, though the décor could use a little refresh. But honestly, the food makes up for it. Service is friendly and efficient, and prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes (you'll likely have leftovers!). Pro tip: Try the House Special Fried Rice or Cheng's Spicy Chicken. Both are packed with flavor. Parking can be a bit tight, but there's extra space behind the building near the hotel. Overall, Chef Cheng's is a solid choice for Chinese comfort food in Elko. Great for families, takeout, or anyone who loves hearty, flavorful dishes.

If you fancy Asian food flare or if you're craving for Chinese food in a small town or let's say,…read moreyou want to simply try Asian food in Elko, NV, I strongly recommend China Garden. It is located next to Ace Hardware or Khoury, which is now Ridleys. Yes. China Garden is unpretentious. The flavors are really authentic Chinese. I have not tried their orange chicken. However, I always order their veggies and egg foo young (egg omelette) for take-outs. What I like about China Garden is that they never try to impress but to only serve good Asian food. The restaurant is not fancy but very clean and simple. Most of their business comes from take-outs orders. Before I discovered China Garden, I heard from a friend that he did not have a good experience when he tried eating in at the restaurant. He told me that the Asian lady was so unfriendly and unpleasant. That did not stop me from trying out this restaurant. By this time, the Asian lady warms up to me and actually pleasant once she sees you more often. She gets familiarize with you as patrons of her restaurant. Service is always fast. Food is satisfying. To top it all, China Garden is better than Chef Cheng, another Chinese restaurant in Elko. China Garden serves authentic flavors of Chinese cuisine. They're fresh and real authentic. It stays true to Asian cuisine. I hope, the owners read this coz they deserve a good review for all their handwork. I don't know the owners. I just thought of sharing my food experience so everyone can enjoy having an awesome meal.

My boyfriend and I came in for lunch after running out to the greenhouse in Lamoille. I really wanted Won Ton soup and their prices just made sense. Upon entering there were no other customers in sight and we were able to sit at one of only four tables in the whole dining room. I ordered Wor Wonton soup, egg rolls, hot tea, and my boyfriend ordered the Beef and veggie lunch plate with egg drop soup. Food came out VERY fast, we didn't have to wait long at all. Both egg drop and the wonton soups were very peppery. Like black pepper. Though I didn't see any pepper in the soup so maybe it's white pepper. Either way. It was to the point of being spicy. The broth was super bland other than the pepper almost like just water. It's only redemption was the won tons themselves which were flavorful and well made. It was loaded with veggies though I was sad it didn't have any bok choy. It had chicken beef and shrimp which was great! The egg rolls were actually spring rolls, and I don't believe they had any meat in them. Just veggie spring rolls. My boyfriend enjoyed his beef and veggies, though it was served on a paper plate which I found odd for a restaurant. All said and done it wasn't terrible food, and how cheap it is makes it worth it. But if you're looking for amazing Chinese food...you'll want to head on into Elko and hit up Chengs.

You walk up to the counter and they have prepared food that you can pick out like at Panda Express!! Seeing as how Elko doesn't have a Panda Express, this is an awesome option for us. If you plan on getting potstickers, let them know first because they have to make them fresh. We usually order two boxes because they are that good. This night I got Mayonnaise Shrimp, Beef and Broccoli, Half Chow Mein and Half Fried Rice and of course the Pot Stickers. One thing I really love about this place is they don't charge you extra for shrimp entrées like panda does. The food is always so good and really hits the spot for a greasy late night Chinese food plate. But the potstickers keep me coming back coming back time! after time. If you're looking for quick but delicious Chinese food in Elko, Great Wall is definitely the place to go!
