The sauce reminds me of the sauce that a neighbor's mom (she's Italian and a great cook!) used to use in her lasagna when I was growing up. I'm dying to try theirs to see if it's as good as hers! Unfortunately, I never know when they have it on the menu for takeout. What I don't like about them is that the only menu they have is the catering one. Each time I go, I never know how much I'm spending or what they have on their menu for take out orders (when is there lasagna?). I've also heard their eggplant parm and chicken parm heros are good. I'll try them the next time I'm in the mood for a parm hero. As it is, I only go there when I'm in the mood for a meatball hero. If there was a takeout menu, I'd probably go more often. They're a mom and pop (or poss. nonna i nonno) place and have imported foods there for sale, and really good fresh mozz. I was going to pick up one of their imported Panattone when I was there today but forgot! Yum!

I like to support all of the ethnic establishment on Long Island, since there aren't enough of them; especially if they're family-owned! First, the Cafe: Their menu (see my photos) is extensive: Fresh pulp juices, Brazilian snacks, burgers sandwiches, Tapas, sweets and fresh breads! There is so much to explore here! I wasn't particularly hungry on the day I went, so opted to try two of their snacks; while my friend tried a burger and cheese breads: -- Frango com Catupiry (chicken w.cheese) ($6.23): this is a traditional Brazilian snack item filled with shredded chicken and cheese. This was mildly seasoned (maybe too mild) but packed with chicken and cheese. Very rich and heavy. Don't forget to ask for their green sauce and hot sauce to go with this. -- Carne e Queijo Pastel (beef & cheese) ($6.23): this snack item was made to order and freshly fried to perfection. The beef and cheese were mildly spiced (again, maybe too mild for me) but went well with the tomato relish they served with it. Ask for their green and hot sauces! -- X-Pichanha ($18): The person who had this Pichanha burger loved it! It's a rather large burger, and came with fries. Half was taken home. They said they would order this again! -- Pão de queijo (Brazilian Cheese Bread) (.70¢ each): the person who had this loved it so much, they ordered more to take home! The Market: Right next door to the Cafe is a small market, packed with Brazilian treasures! Their shelves, fridge and freezer are filled with Brazilian goodness! They even have a butcher shop full of different meats and sausages! Bonus items: bathing suits and flip flops!!! lol Take your time to peruse the market and you'll be amazed at what unique things you come across! I must add that customer service & hospitality in both the Cafe and the Market, were outstanding!! So friendly, welcoming, accommodating, and helpful! Welcome to the neighborhood!! I look forward to many return visits!

The place is on Maple Ave and close to the Westbury LIRR. When you walk in you see a bunch of different hot foods chilling there looking tasty. I got a large container ($7) and asked for yellow rice, plantains, and pork (I think it's pernil, but I could be wrong - see the pictures). With tax it came out to $7.60. I paid with credit card and left. I got home and started eating. Wow, it was amazing. First off, they packed a dump load of food in the container, which I really appreciated. The pork wasn't ultra soft, but felt apart decently well. It tasted so good and had some sort of crazy glaze to it that was so tasty. The pork is just crazy good; end of story. The rice and plantains were also ultra satisfying too. Nothing much to really describe but it complimented the pork about as well as possible.
