John restored two really old shotguns for me and did a beautiful job. The first gun was an LC Smith that was nearly 100 years old. He refinished the stock, case colored the receiver, re-blued the barrels and thoroughly cleaned it inside. It looks like the day it was born at the factory.
The second gun was a Simson Suhl and it was a difficult project. It had a dozen tiny screws in the receiver that all had to be timed so they were facing the same way when the gun was re-assembled. This took nearly and entire day but John wouldn't take any additional money when I offered. He refastened the rib that was loose near the muzzle, case colored the receiver, and refinished the stock. It turned out beautifully and I was happy as a little kid at Christmas.
John is an artist and a perfectionist. He does great work at really affordable prices. I highly recommend him for all your gunsmithing needs.
