I hate to leave a one star because my son has received services from this agency before for PT. I…read moredecided to bring him back because our experience was great with a different therapist. We met with Dennis. My son is a 5 year (almost 6 year old child) primarily none speaking boy who has Autism. Dennis probably has seen my son about 5-6 sessions and sometimes, (not always) my son has difficulty in engaging, however does at least one exercise. He is only there for 25mins with authorization, and I informed Dennis I will get another authorization but provide effective treatment and meet my son where he is at. Biggest problem are the toys that are visible and out. My son also has low muscle tone and gets easily tired, which has been told to me by other professionals. Today during Leo's session in the new office (third time in the Woodland Hills office/initial assessment and two sessions including today) Dennis was unprofessional and unethical. He laughed at my face in front of at least 3 people. Instead of focusing on my child's needs he was more focused on what I'm doing for my child and how I don't discipline him. My son sees about over 7 other external therapists for different services during the week and each provides effective and ethical service/sessions. In the Sherman Oaks office we have always arrived early and he had a client and had us wait 2X when it was my son's time, and I never said anything. Today I left the office having anxiety and shaking. I told the front desk girl to have the office manager call me and another staff was able to reduce my anxiety so I can safely drive myself and my son to his next therapy. I contacted the licensing board too because I don't ever want another child with Autism to be treated in such a way. I will be waiting to hear back from the management to understand what steps will be taken. All of my son's therapists are supporting, caring, loving, respectful, ethical, and have good therapeutic boundaries, and those are the only people I want on my son's team. Again this is not about the agency. Even the lady who completed my son's initial assessment was so respectful and caring towards my son. His previous therapist Trisha was amazing too. This review is for Dennis. I hope in the future he will do a better job in consulting with his supervisor , asking for guidance in how to work well with a client he is struggling with, hold strong therapeutic boundaries, and practice ethically.

So…read morewe considered ourselves very lucky to find this truly first rate OT practice so close by. We originally chose TIA because its founder, Mary Jane, worked directly with Jean Ayres, considered the founder of Sensory Integration. Now TIA has truly become a happy place for our family - both for OT and for camp. Our children are growing, acquiring important new skills, and having the best time. Our son has developed a close and special bond with his therapist Jenny, who is not only very skilled at her job but also genuinely cares. We feel we're in the best hands here and highly recommend. Not incentivized to write this in any way, just spreading the word to other families looking for a wonderful OT.

We've been on this journey for years. Our pediatrician and two specialists recommended TiA. We had tried feeding therapy through other clinics over the years with very little progress. They mostly focused on food play and comfort sitting at the table near food. Great, but not enough for our situation. I love TiA's unique approach. The assessment is very thorough and comprehensive. They examined LO's eating mechanics and habits, oral anatomy and skills, speech, and physical strength (even though our "diagnosis" is just about poor appetite). They look at the whole child. We come weekly for an hour. LO loves coming here. The first half of the session is "heavy work" in the gym. LO is running, climbing, flipping, jumping to LO's delight. Then, it's time to go for a "snack" in the kitchen. There is no power struggle. It feels normal and nature to eat something after all of that activity. Ms Sivan (and Ms Jenny, Ms Paula, Ms Gabby) has such an easy, chill aura. No pressure to eat. No lecturing. No nagging. LO spends the time just talking casually about the food, playing a game at the table, helping to prep the meal, etc. I have seen LO try things at TiA that have failed miserably as home. I learn something every single session that I try to apply at home. I am so grateful to Ms Sivan for giving me hope for the first time in years. Feeding struggles suck. They are really, really hard. TiA is the best!!

She corrects him when he needs to adjust for his one shoulder, so he can continue to still workout without pain. My dad had had shoulder pain for awhile and with the exercise program she has given us is helping dad with his strength and how to do things with his arm, By adjusting how to position his arm to not irritate his shoulder condition, and teaching tools of how to Put on and off his clothes without pain I would highly recommend Andrea Bitar And definitely use her again !!!!
