My 54 y/o wife was admitted and told staff would work with her in groups but also promised individualized treatment. Just about 3 hours per week of individual treatment out of 70 is all she got. While it is promoted as an adult treatment center, 90+% of the patients are 18-24. Day one the nutritionist prescribed her meal plan without ANY questions, discussion or evaluation. It included a high percentage of empty calories... bowls of Skittles, Croissants and Nutella, store bought cookies and cake. They don't allow ANY exercise or even standing (yes, you are forced to sit). I suggested things like peanut butter and an apple, yogurt and berries...same calories and fat content, but protein and nutrient dense, completely ignored. The therapists do try, but are not giving the patients enough care to truly make a difference. Again, nothing extra or individualized. Total focus seems to be weight gain to free up beds, and bring in another insurance payment, rather than truly caring for them as individuals. May work as a business model, but relapse is almost certain. She was a College athlete and always in great shape. Her ED did cause muscle atrophy and weight loss, but they have no concern with rebuilding in a balanced form, only fat. She gained 25lbs on an athletic frame of total fat. They try to sell it as the refeeding process, but the promised professionally managed program completely failed. She was bloated and was completely disgusted with herself, which led to total relapse after following their programs through iop and op with great family and friends support. Please evaluate and make sure its good fit for you, it definitely was not for us.

I found out about the program and had a hard time grasping the concept of allowing my daughter to go away to this place for a minimum of 6 weeks. That would mean I'd have to face the reality of failing her. I could not fix my baby. I could not help my baby and turn things around for her. Neither myself, her dad or my daughter wanted to believe that. It was devastating to us all. She did not want to go. This made me again feel like a horrible parent. But I knew at the point we were at there was not much else for us to do but send her for treatment. By the time we arrived at the center, my daughter was not talking to me. She cried, I cried and I saw my 15 year old daughter who tried to bury her emotions ask me for a hug. I saw her 3 year old self reaching for her momma (Ok, I'm in full out tears right now). And that was in some sense confirmation that she will be alright. She ended up falling in love with the staff and they appeared to fall in love with her. While there she completed all sorts of therapy and we participated in family therapy. Found so much out about our daughter that we had no idea of. Our relationship has grown leaps and bounds. She is now on the other side of her eating disorder. And I have The Center for Discover to thank. I don't know what we would have done with out this program. I could go on and on. But IF you are remotely close to doubtful (I can relate) but in the words of Nike...JUST DO IT! You will not regret it!

I never got any receipts of payment or an bill or receipt of any kind showing what he actually administered to me, how strong the dosage, not even a schedule of my appointments. Even though services were not rendered, we understand they have a cancellation policy, but we at least wanted to resolve the situation and hoped for flexibility to bill our insurance. Instead of being reasonable, responsive, and assisting us, the receptionist was difficult to get ahold of and rude on more than one occasion. When she finally got back to us she told my wife she could have just had a telehealth appointment, except the appointment was already over, so it would of been impossible to attend. Insurance has yet to be billed as of this review. We feel it is very unprofessional way to go about this, while we are already going through a difficult situation. This has left a bad taste in our mouth regarding The Montfort Group, which is unfortunate because we really liked the therapist.
