Dr. Tran - Hard Skills…read moreSeemed knowledgeable and did everything I thought a doctor should do. Appeared to take a scientific, evidence based approach. Listened to my description of the issue, inspected by sight and touch, told me potential causes, prescribed an x-ray in order to gather more information and narrow the potential causes, prescribed medication to help with pain/inflammation, discussed next steps and long-term steps, discussed rehab/strengthening options. Soft Skills Great communication and explanation. Was patient with me and took time to answer my questions and make sure I understood. Nice, courteous, and respectful. Office - Staff was nice, helpful, and organized. There were some data entry issues with misspelling my name, email, etc. but it was cleared up. My recommendation is to push patients to the online system and have the patient enter their information, this could be beforehand or while in the office. Facility - I believe this was building 2. There was plenty of parking in front and the facility was nice. Wait Time I was moved to the back room on time. It took a little while to see the Dr, but that is normal for most Dr's. I'm sure I caused the Dr to run behind schedule for their next patient so I can't fault the Dr. Plus do you really want a Dr that rushes from patient to patient just to be timely? I don't. I would rather a Dr give quality time and service with each patient even if that means I have to wait a bit. I can always stream a movie on my phone while I wait. Billing - So far so good. No issues.

I scheduled the appointment for March 6th originally @ 2:30 PM. Mind you, I was shocked that I could schedule an appointment so quickly for just a couple of days out. But when I received a call from the office stating that although 2:30 PM wasn't an available time slot and I needed to change my appointment time to 1:15 PM on the same day without a confirmation, I knew something was a bit off. I went with it. That same person advised me that they would send me a link either via email or text to fill out the patient forms prior to my appointment, but I never received either. I drove to the location and was immediately flabbergasted with the lack of English text on the glass exterior to direct patients to the receptionist area. I literally had to ask if I was at the right location (not that English should be the default, but translations from Arabic would be nice for non speakers). I asked the first person I saw if I was at the right location, and once she confirmed I was supposed to be there, I advised her that I had an appointment @ 1:15 PM, and I gave her my name. She asked me for my drivers' license and my insurance card & I was prompted to have a seat. In about 5 min, the same young lady I spoke with walked up to me (in front of several other guests around) and said, " Sir, I don't have you on the list for today..." I was so shocked that she misgendered me to my face and acted as if there was no need for any privacy - as if she were entitled to tell me and announce loudly who she thought I was! I stated that I'm not a sir (since my drivers' license has an F), but she stated I needed to speak up since she couldn't hear me. (Conveniently, in front of others, which could jeopardize my safety. She was now standing right in front of me and the other patients!) She was obviously trying to embarrass me. I simply asked her if she would like to hear the phone call I'd had with the person that rescheduled me at 1:15 PM on March 6th, but she said that she had me on the schedule for March 10th. Once again, I offered to play her the recording of my conversation, according to which I was scheduled for March 6th, but she stated that she did not have me in the system for today. So I just asked her to cancel any appointments and told her I would go somewhere else. Awesome Care Clinic is listed as LGBT friendly on the following site: {https://www.pride214.com/gay-friendly-doctors}. This is indeed a lie! If you are a part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, please don't bother utilizing this location as a resource, as you may be putting your safety at risk! (Audio available upon request)

They are all competent and I wouldn't hesitate to see any of them. My favorite is Dr. Sheryl Cowan. I enjoy her the best because she is a woman around my age group and she is very understanding and caring and she gets what I am saying. She's down to earth and I never feel rushed. I always feel listened to. Her nurse, Tony is awesome as well! He's straightforward, yet you can joke around with him. COVID safety protocols are strictly observed. I called yesterday afternoon and was able to get an appointment first thing this morning! Eileen is the scheduler and she is always pleasant to talk to on the phone when making your appointment and in person when you are checking out afterwards. I was joking with Eileen yesterday that I needed to see Dr Cowan so I could get my prescriptions refilled. She said, "oh she's holding your prescriptions hostage, huh!" Sweet, friendly humor that I appreciate so much! If you're looking for a great team of family doctors, you can't go wrong!

Several recommended Dr. Lin at Arapaho Clinic. I'm happy to have found him and would recommend him to anyone. He's knowledgeable, explains his intent and choices (if you want him to) and is contentious of your health and healthcare costs. The one thing that could use some help would be the wait times. If your appointment is for 2:45, which mine is right now (I'm in the waiting room right now as I type), it's currently 3:16 and I have yet to be called in, then, you will wait more in the examination room. It's not that big of a deal for me, but I know others may be on a time schedule and my not have time to dilly-dally. If you know what to expect, you can plan accordingly.

For starters, the tech and/or MA team...I'm not even sure how to go about our experience with them. Without disclosing personal information about my family member, they were not treated with the dignity and respect that you deserve when visiting a doctor's office. The MA that called us in (I can only guess they were an MA) didn't quite know what they were doing. Simple tasks like taking vitals were not done properly and the MA didn't even speak proper English. They didn't know how to work the blood pressure cuff which was such a huge red flag. They have multiple people in the registration room without introducing themselves, asking redudant personal questions, it was just a mess. No one explains why there is more than one staff member in the room with the patient. In fact, communication within the staff was unprofessional with arguing and giggles. Just ridiculous. Now comes the exam room with Dr. Favroth. When I asked if this was some sort of teaching clinic (again, due to the extra staff members in the room with us), I was met with an attitude from the doctor that went into who she was, her credentials, what universities she taught at, etc., instead of actually answering my question about WHY THERE WERE SO MANY PEOPLE IN THE ROOM DURING AN EXAM. It was like I annoyed her instantly. Fine, let's get on with the exam and meds that are needed. We asked to have labs taken to confirm that a previous infection was cleared. We were charged $73 for the labs. Okay, cool I paid it. An entire week passed without hearing the results. When we FINALLY got someone on the phone after numerous follow up phone calls and messages, we were told by the front desk that they had ACCIDENTALLY DISCARDED the sample my family member provided during our visit. They literally threw it away. I'm honestly appalled just writing this. When I demanded we get our money back, I was met with resistance. I had to arrive in person to get a handwritten check back from their team instead of just refunding my card on the phone. So upsetting. Overall, I highly discourage anyone bringing their loved ones here. They are not equipped to take care of people and they create incredible obstacles when you need to contact them. I honestly feel sorry for the front desk staff that work there.

Told me i have to come in asap for slightly off number by one or two without telling me the risk of the off number. I have to set another appt for her to explain? Hah. I could rewrite the same review for every visit I've had with her. She has a way of making you feel like a trusted friend whose well-being is her top priority. Each appointment with her is warm, efficient, compassionate, and remarkably attentive. From the moment she walked into the room, she made me feel like I was her only concern for the entire day. Her bedside manner is exceptional--warm, caring, and genuine. She took the time to truly listen to my concerns, not just rush through symptoms or diagnoses. It's rare to find a provider who values listening as much as giving medical advice, but she does both beautifully. What stood out most was how thorough and efficient she was. She asked about all aspects of my health, not just the physical symptoms that brought me in, but also my mental well-being and any other challenges I might be facing. She clearly cares about the whole picture, treating me as a complete individual rather than just a set of symptoms. I was also impressed that she had reviewed my medical records from other specialists before even stepping into the room. Being up to date with my past visits and current care plan made the appointment feel seamless, personalized, and truly collaborative. She is the kind of doctor who makes you feel safe, heard, respected, and supported. Her compassion, professionalism, and attention to detail are unmatched. Providers like her are rare, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have her as part of my healthcare team. I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking a knowledgeable, caring, and truly exceptional doctor. Thanks for being a Wonderfull caregiver Dr. Kwon. S. Copenhaver
