When we arrived at 6 AM, there was no one with whom we could speak and they refused to admit us for the scheduled surgery unless we paid up front. We learned that this is a long standing problem that has never been corrected by management. Having to deal with this while also undergoing surgery was very stressful.

We were able to visit the day we called. Ask for Carrie! She spent over 2 hours with us. She's not about a hard sell, absolutely no pressure -- she really wants your family to be happy there. She truly understands what you are going through. This location was built in the late 1990s and I believe they are in the final stages of remodeling it. The drive up still feels outdated, BUT don't let that fool you. The apartments we saw were newly painted, updated bathroom, updated kitchenette and new hard wood floors. The main building is peaceful, spacious, and full of energy. A grand piano sits in the entry. There are all types of seating areas, for example there was a breakfast area, outside patio, small cozy chairs nestled around a tv (the news was on) and a full service dining room. Many residents stopped to say hello and expressed how much they enjoy living there (that was a huge plus for us!). TIP: They are pet friendly! In fact, they just built a beautiful new enclosed court yard. Bright green grass. Sitting areas too! So what does it cost? That's what you really want to know. When we visited they were running a special: 1 bedroom/ 1 bath, 3 meals a day, all utilities plus internet is included, all activities (no hidden fees), access to a washer and dryer (free), once a week light housekeeping/ trash pick up, 24/7 nurse on hand for evaluations, transportation services within a reasonable radius, concierge desk for miscellaneous requests and 24 hour security. We were quoted 1k. They also had larger apartments 2 bedroom/ 2 bath that were $1,700 a month. This community is called "Independent Living Plus" meaning you come and go independently but it includes amenities you get from an assisted living facilities. It's a pretty darn good deal!

I also want to personally recognize Nurse Dusty, Nurse Casey, Dr. Grimm, and Registrar Rachael. Every one of you played a part in making a stressful situation much easier for me and my son. The care and compassion you showed truly meant a lot to us. Two weeks later, I had to bring my son back to have his stitches removed, and I had the pleasure of meeting Manager Jennifer Gilson. She was so kind and sweet! She had seen the TikTok review I posted about her staff and actually came out to thank me and shake my hand. That meant so much to me because it showed how much she appreciates her team and the patients they serve. I then had the pleasure of being seen by Dr. Coppola who was very understanding, explained everything clearly, and made sure I understood what was going on. While I may have only been for a simple dog bite analysis and check up, I felt like every person had MY best interests in mind. I received a brief treatment as well as prescription and explanation of next steps; however, I felt very confident and informed when leaving. I think everyone did a great job! The place had an immaculate waiting room and I received expedited treatment and services which was a pleasant surprise that left me with a feeling of having a great overall experience! An Exceptional Rehabilitation Experience at Encompass Rehabilitation Hospital in Prosper, TX…read more After having my second hip replacement within two months, I knew I needed more than I had received after my first hip replacement. After my first surgery, I was sent home and was basically alone much of the day. I was afraid to move, and although I had home health, I didn't feel like I was getting the support I truly needed. This time, I insisted on going to inpatient rehabilitation, and I chose Encompass Rehabilitation Hospital in Prosper because of its proximity to my home. I initially assumed I would be there primarily for physical therapy for my hip. Boy, was I mistaken--and I am SO grateful I was! After my initial assessment, the team took the time to look at my entire medical history and understand what I was dealing with--not just my hip replacement. Because I have a history of strokes that has affected my memory and cognition, chronic pain, and several other medical challenges, they developed a comprehensive plan specifically for ME. My days included one hour each of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Group Therapy, and Mental Health Counseling. I was absolutely blown away! They didn't simply see a patient who needed to learn how to walk again. They saw a whole person who needed to regain strength, confidence, independence, cognitive skills, and emotional well-being. And the timing of my rehabilitation made their compassion mean even more to me. My mom passed away just two weeks before I arrived at Encompass, in another state. My dad has postponed my mom's memorial services because he wants me to be well enough to travel home and be there with my family. I was dealing with grief, recovery, pain, and so many emotions all at once. The care and encouragement I received during this difficult season meant more than I can adequately put into words. Every therapist I worked with was amazing. There are so many people I could name, but a few who left a special impression on me were Jill (aka "The Dancing Therapy Girl" ), Sahi, Jamie, Jeffery, Ravina, and so many others. Each one brought something different, but they all shared the same genuine compassion and commitment to helping me get better. The nurses and techs were equally incredible. Elizabeth, Jeremy, Neil, Krista, Tonesha, Alizabeth, and the many others who cared for me made me feel seen, supported, and safe. Honestly, I cannot think of one staff member who provided anything less than exceptional care. You can tell that the people who work at Encompass genuinely love what they do--and, more importantly, they genuinely care about the people entrusted to them. I came to Encompass thinking I was going there to rehab my hip. I left feeling like they helped me rebuild much more than that. They helped me regain confidence in my body, reminded me that I was capable of more than I thought, and gave me hope during a very difficult chapter of my life. Everyone we encountered was friendly and caring with the patients and visitors. The kitchen staff treated my family like special guests; they made an exception on a Sunday and made meals for us to enjoy with my dad during his lunch time, since we were visiting out of state. They made sure we were well taken care of and were so caring with my dad. All of the nurses we encountered were amazing and patient. My dad's speech therapist was reviewed by my stepmom as the BEST therapist that my dad has had in the 15 months that he has been in a hospital environment. You can tell the staff here really cares about the patients, at least the ones I encountered. Walking down the hall with my dad, he was stopped by doctors and nurses that treated him like a celebrity. It was heartwarming to see. I feel like he was really taken care of here.
