I had 2 procedures done with Texas Endoscopy in 2024. There is a complete lack of transparency and an exploitative approach to billing, which may target patients who require urgent medical attention. Despite my repeated attempts--including multiple phone calls--to get a clear, itemized estimate of costs before my procedures, I was never provided with one. It is a blatant disregard for patient rights and potentially a violation of laws. I've also made multiple attempts complaining about the process and was never contacted back by Texas Endoscopy. I've never experienced anything like this with any medical establishments. I've come across numerous complaints online from other patients. SAVE YOURSELF FROM BEING ROBBED! The medical staff is great, but the billing team is a nightmare! I was scheduled for two procedures (both at the same time, precisely to save money). I had to pay $700 prior to my procedures and later I received an invoice for another $500+ They already claimed to my insurance for 2 ambulatory surgeries (both for the exact same amount), I keep asking for a detailed bill with the full breakdown and keep getting the same invoice showing just two ambulatory surgeries. My doctor didn't charge twice for the procedures, the anesthesiologist didn't charge twice for the procedures but this hospital is charging twice and there is just no way to get a solution or at least clarification. So I haven't even had a procedure here and I'm not happy with them. They sent me a preop online form where I essentially had to do all of their work for them, entering data in their format into an EMR that sucks. Secondly, I get a text an email and a voicemail about everything. I'm having a procedure done NEXT week, and I'm already dreading it. I am getting the procedure courtesy of the VA and this company wants my insurance information regardless. I'm about two shakes from just cancelling the whole thing on them. I'll talk to them next week, but obviously this place is NOT about treating the patient nicely. A lot of one star reviews which gives me pause for thought. read more

They are more like scammers to me. Three months of wait time and they never called my insurance to get prior authorization. Four days before my appointment they sent a notification that I have to pay $3000 for my procedure, which is fully covered by my insurance. They have no one answering your call in their billing department. It just straight to voicemail with not return. The medical staff is great, the Billing Dept. is a nightmare. I paid $1346 the day of my procedure. My Insurance covered the bill 100%. They've refused to refund my $1346 for 5 mo. I've left 17 voicemails. Very sad TDDC only uses TX Endoscopy facilities because I like my Gastro Doc. Filing a formal complaint with The Health Facility Compliance Group at TDSHS. Save your sanity. Their billing is an absolute NIGHTMARE!!! You cannot get anyone on the phone or anyone to call you back. Nearly five MONTHS later.....they basically told us they cannot help us. My husband prepped and was prepared for 2 procedures at the same time. Upon arrival, we were told that our insurance requires prior authorization so we will need to reschedule. We agreed to pay cash to get the procedures done with the FULL understanding by myself and my husband and the not one, but TWO ladies at the front desk, that they would still bill our insurance. Fast forward to the next day and I speak to the insurance company who informs us that there was NO prior authorization required. After spending no less than 10 hours of phone time, speaking to people who have no clue what they are doing and are bold face lying to you about what they are going to do with your case, we found a phone number online that was different than we had been calling. We got someone on the phone that told us that she would happily help us and would call us back the next day. She never called back. After back and forth, she finally left a voice mail telling me that the manager, June King, has stated they will not file with insurance because we agreed to cash pay, and that is their policy. They also refused to provide the itemized bill, because that is against their policy too. So now that it is almost the end of the year, we FINALLY fought hard enough to get the itemized bill to file on our own. All the while, my husband still needs to have another procedure done, and by the time this is all worked out we will be looking at next year's deductible. They have a complete lack of concern for anything other than their secret policies and their money. Should have read facility reviews prior to procedure which is why i am writing this review. FACTORY FEELING! Recovery nurses primary goal was to get me out not ensure my comfort, this was evident! Let's face it nobody really wants to go get a colonoscopy done so your anxiety is already probably very elevated. But let me tell you from the minute I walked in the door, staff at at the front desk was very nice very professional very quick very thorough all of the nurses that assisted me had great bedside manners. I was actually seen by Dr. Park, his bedside manners were out of this world outstanding very attentive answered all my questions. I would definitely recommend this facility and Dr. Park. My GI doctor recommended a colonoscopy. This was the first time I have had one, so I didn't know what to expect. This place is VERY organized. As promised, they called me before the procedure to make sure I understood my prep instructions and any billing information. I arrived after a rough night of prep and was greeted by a friendly, professional woman named Tami. After a few signatures, she they got me right in. I was scheduled to get there at 10:30 AM and have the procedure begin by 11:30 AM. The team runs like a well-oiled machine. One nurse, Kathy, had an extremely clean room ready with warm blankets and socks. She ran my IV and explained the process again. Next, the very cool Dr. Bolin, came in to check on me as well as the anesthesiologist, Casey. I woke up in recovery feeling great! Dr. Bolin explained the results and I walked out with a clear head by 11:50 AM. I would recommend Texas Endoscopy and Dr. Bolin to everyone. They made me feel very safe. read more

The nurses at the facility when you are having your procedure are amazing. Very caring and provide excellent care for their patients. However, the service after the procedure are horrible. They made me pay for my procedure upfront and after insurance paid for 100% of the procedure, they refused to answer calls to refund my money. I finally called the nurse line and spoke to a nice nurse who transferred me to Clarissa. She is one of the rudest individuals I have ever spoken with you basically said they listen to message but decide who they want to call back and that they did not think they could help me so they just decided not to call me back. She did not care that they owed me money and provided no help. She was extremely rude and even broke HIPPA be telling me her boss had COVID and was out. They really need to rethink who they hire in their billing department because Clarissa is extremely rude and does not understand basic customer service protocol!! read more

Went to this location for a colonoscopy. The young lady at the desk was very friendly. Explained all forms for me to complete. Went to the waiting room. Very clean. On to the back. The nursing Staff was very friendly as well. IV in without a hitch! Dr. Choi came by to talk. On to the colonoscopy room. Nurses there were also very professional and friendly. Woke to a nurse giving me water. The GI- Dr. Choi came by again with great news. My husband was now in my area/room. Sent home. A little groggy but was glad I was going home. Nice place and staff. What a wonderfully staffed center! Right when you walk in, you meet friendly Tammy at check in. Then Crystal, the nurse with the amazing touch, takes you back and takes care of you. Mark, the great nurse anesthesiologist, makes sure you're nice and comfortable during the procedure. When you wake, Carrie is there to take care of you until you leave. Now give her the old 1000 yard stare and say -- I'm fixin to!! If you need endoscopic services you should ask your primary care physician about Texas Endoscopy. I just came from there today for a follow-up on a procedure 5 years ago. The last time, my insurance was bilked (I meant billed) $4,500 and guess who paid the deductible? Today, I had Dr. Donachie (a highly skilled, highly educated and affable physician) do the follow-up. I asked about the billing - only because I'm a libertarian and eagle-screaming dollar snatcher. It was under $1,000 (depends on your insurance plan, of course.) This is all these folks do. Leo their office admin called 2x to ensure I was on schedule with prep, and that I understood all the instructions. The nursing staff were like a dream from some good old days feel good movie. I woke up not knowing I'd ever went under, spent a few minutes with my Doctor and was on my way (of course, with a driver.) We can always find something we don't like every day. I took the time to write this because: a) we all need to something about health care costs in this country, b) these folks are unquestionably top shelf. They shoulder compassion and business savvy at once with equal attention to both. If we don't all get involved in our health care options .... well you know - someone else will make those decisions for you and they won't be best. I am very thankful to my Primary Care Physician Joel Maust at MCNT for referring me to Texas Endoscopy and I'm extremely pleased there are providers out there doing something about costs. read more

This center was wonderful! I had both a colonoscopy and an endoscopy done yesterday and the staff was beyond caring. Even though they were very busy, they stayed on time, and I never once felt rushed. Each staff memeber took time to explain things to me, thier process and answered all of my questions immeidatley. Mark, the nurse anesthesiologist and Dr. Bolin, and the entire nursing staff were amazing. They have already called to follow up with me to see how I am doing, and to ensure that I did not have any additional questions. If you have to have a procedure, I cannot reccomend this place enough! read more

If I could give a zero I would.... I have gone round and round with this establishment over a charge related to a procedure. They have submitted my insurance claim differently than what is listed on both the report generated after my procedure AND my doctor's order prior to the procedure. My doctor's office is telling me that they aren't including all the information, yet this office will not act on that information or make attempts to correct it. The billing department (and specifically one individual) is the most combative and compassionless human I've encountered in a medical practice/facility - saying things like "if they code the way the doctor specified, it would be insurance fraud" and "doctors don't always know the medical codes like we do to file correctly" (WOW??). It's frustrating as a consumer as both my insurance and the doctor's office seem to be on the same page and no one else in my string of care has submitted in the way they have which is making this not a covered procedure, yet they can't understand why I'm confused. I've asked for documentation to warrant why they submitted differently than my doctor's office order specifies, yet they say they have no records that are different than my doctor's office and refer me back to my doctor's records (which actually is IN my favor). Never been more frustrated.... and I strongly recommend you not deal with this facility. Go somewhere else. read more

This was by far and away the best surgery experience I have ever had. I have lots of anxiety before surgery and every person I dealt with (nurses, doctors, anesthesiologist) were soooooo caring, gentle and compassionate, way beyond what i would've expected. If you are a woman under the age of 50 change doctors before you submit to a procedure here. I have always had a problem urinating when asked to, this has been a constant problem in seeking medical attention. When I got to Texas Endoscopy I was dehydrated (take bowel prep at 11, liquid diarrhea for 1.5-2 hours, can't drink water after 12, you do the math) and didn't need to. When I told the nurse this it seemed inconceviable that I would have trouble taking the pregnancy test. She berated me for 30 minutes about it until she started my IV, so that I would rehydrate and take the test. When I could finally take the test she loudly announced it to the entire room and making applauding motions before taking my specimine. I was beyond mortified, being in the middle of the pre/post op room, bare-ass open-back gown, struggling to hold up my IV bag and hand the nurse the container. Every eye in the room was on me and half the nurses were applauding for her. Then, she made me carry my IV bag and hang it up myself (that I was clearly having trouble holding above my shoulder). What I REALLY can't understand is coming back in after the pregnancy test was negative (I have an IUD, I haven't had a period in over 2 years, a doctor had to insert and will have to remove it) and locking eyes with me, getting up in my face, and asking "what would happen if we gave you *anastetic* and you could get pregnant". She continued to guilt-trip and berate me until her "job" was done. I spent the rest of the time waiting for my procedure crying or on the verge of it. During this time another nurse comes and tells me I'm their favorite patient of the day. I'm incredibly confused by this until she explains that I'm the last patient. The pre/post op room is an open room just seperated by curtains, so the doctors and other nurses (who participated in humiliating me) could all hear her, and not a one did anything. I had to call her manager to find out what her name (Donna) was because she wrote it so sloppy that me, and anyone I asked could not decipher it. If you are a woman under the age of 50 change doctors before you submit to a procedure here, this is not an environment friendly to women. read more
