I never leave bad reviews, but I just had the worst experience with Dr Patel I have ever had with a medical professional. Was initially admitted and discharged after the Dr managed to diagnose me with "gastritis" and offer me Motrin. He failed to mention my pancreatic cyst had doubled in size. When I came back 2 hours later in excruciating pain he told me "I'm not a pharmacist go get your drugs somewhere else" I'm currently admitted across the street at Denton regional with a "horrible case of very obvious acute pancreatitis " The rest of the staff was amazing and the facility is clean. Dr Patel, when he isn't sleeping is not only rude but he's unable to properly treat people with serious sicknesses and accuse you of seeking drugs for an extremely painful injury. DO NOT GO HERE! STOP SENDING ME A BILL! The charge nurse Dawn, is AWFUL. It was the second time I had her. First time she vaccine shamed me. No bed side manners at all. I came in with severe back pain. Everyone was really nice except her. I received a shot of Toradol and she asked me where I wanted it. I pulled down the side of my pants and pointed to my hip. She ignored me and said "It's the right or left arm". I'm in pain, I'm not going to argue (even though I should have) and lifted my sleeve. That shot HURT!!! YOU DONT DO THAT! Just admit you don't know how to give a shot in the hip or admit you're not a good nurse. read more

BEWARE. My daughter was at a concert and got pushed down and hurt her knee so she couldn't walk On it. She went to Surepoint. They X-rayd her knee. It wasn't broken. They also gave her a brace and crutches. She ended up going to the orthopedic doctor the next day and finding out she had a torn ACL. We got the bill from Surepoint and it was $26,941.14! For and xray, crutches and knee brace. This is absolutely disgusting I don't know how any place could ethically charge this much. read more

I am a senior and I am on Medicare and I also have a supplemental insurance I hurt my foot or I couldn't walk on it and I needed care I needed to see a doctor this location was right down the street from my house so I tried here first I waited in the front office for over 20 minutes even knocked on the window and nobody came to ask me any questions or check the in I was forced to get back out to my car and my husband put my wheelchair away and go down the street to the next place I knew I had to pay $90 immediately for urgent care so it says on my insurance card so they lost at least $90 please don't go here if you need any type of care quickly because nobody actually sits in the front office and they will not wait on you. read more

BEWARE. These people are crooks. I will say, the staff was wonderful. I cut my finger badly, required 7 internal and 8 external stitches. Everything went very well, until it came to billing. I went in for the stitches on 10/3/2016. I paid $150 at that time. Once it was processed through insurance, I received a bill on 3/15/17 stating I owed $2585. I made 4 payments between 4/2/17 and 5/9/17, paying the balance in full. Then on 7/4/17, I received a new bill stating I owed $3035 minus a insurance discount of $1947.26, leaving a balance of $1204.74. I called and spoke to a rep and explained the issue. I had already paid a total of $2635.00, and if you apply that amount plus the discount of $1947.26 - then I had overpaid and should be due a refund of $$1547.26. I started making calls on 7/6/17 (two days after receiving the first erroneous bill). I spoke to Demi on 7/6, 7/10, and 7/14 and emailed her copies of all the receipts showing what I paid. A few days later she called back and said I owed nothing. I had to reiterate that with the insurance discount I should be getting a refund. She then said it would take 30 days to review it to see if I was due a refund. I never heard back, so I called back on September 19,2017. Demi was no longer with the company so I had to start all over with Kim. Kim reviewed and agreed I was due a refund, but the board would have to review in order to determine how much. I heard nothing. I called Kim back on 10/18/17, and she said she was working on it right then and would get back with me in 48 hours. It is now November 16, 2017. I called back. Kim is no longer in that department, and I got Crystal. Crystal reviewed the notes and determined that on 9/20/17 all of my payments were posted and that there was a note I was due a refund. She asked what I thought the refund should be. I explained the math and determined it should be $1547.26. She put me on hold for 26 minutes. Then when she got back on the phone she stated that I owed no monies but was also not due a refund. She stated when you have not met your deductible that the insurance company does not honor the negotiated discounts between the insurance provider and the medical provider. So basically they refuse to apply the discount nor will they refund my over payment. I have spoken with several insurance adjusters and a negotiated discount is applied regardless if the patient has met their deductible. Basically, Surepoint billing is stating those of us who do not need medical care all of the time and have not met their deductibles are exempt from pre-negotiated discounts that are agreed upon by the insurance companies and medical providers- I guess only people who are injured or sick all the time and meet their deductibles are the only eligible people to get pre-negotiated discounts. Hmmmmmm, smells like a load of crap to me. You are better off going to a REAL emergency room and not these little emergency clinics who will find a way to screw you financially and not abide by their own negotiated contracts. read more

I do not recommend them, if you are going to spend money just go to the ER at a hospital. or at least wait until another urgent care is open if possible. I went in with severe pain, the front desk woman would barely respond to me talking to her, I was seen by a doctor who wouldn't listen to what I was saying, and gave me a wrong diagnosis. He even went as far as to tell me I for sure didn't have a condition which ended up being exactly what I had. They made me feel like I was making a big deal out of something small, when actually it was a pretty big thing. I had to pay hundreds of dollars for basically nothing, and spend an extra 24 hours in pain than what was necessary. I just went to the hospital ER the next day, and they were so much nicer, and gave me my correct diagnosis because they actually listened. read more

Presented with chest pain and shortness of breath and, for some reason, was unable to locate my insurance card in my purse. I was told by front desk that I would need to drive home and get my card or pay cash before I could be seen. She then told me that, "it doesn't seem like true chest pain and wasn't an emergency". After telling her that I was a nurse and it was an emergency, which is why I came to the emergency room, I got my DL back and stormed out the door. read more

I highly recommend this stand alone emergency center. There was no wait to be seen. They got me right back! The staff was very nice and the doctor wasn't rushed to treat me. The location is convenient and the office is so nice. The atmosphere is much more comforting in an emergent situation that a regular ER. I would definitely bring my children here in an emergency situation before taking them to a regular hospital ER. It would be a much more comforting environment for children. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!! I was charged over 2000.00 for an infected toe from Luxor Nails and Spa in Denton! The charge for a doctor to walk in the room and look at my toe and write RX was 525.00. To sit in a chair in the room 1261.00. The price for a nurse to administer a tetanus 213.00. Cost of vaccine was 157.00. Seriously, I'm a nurse and I will give tetanus shots a freaking day for 213.00!!! AND, I paid a 300.00 co-pay to walk in! This is so crazy!!!! No wonder there isn't any cars in the parking lot! This place is a scam!!!! Oh, the only reason I went there at 2 in the morning was because I was in such pain, had only moved to Denton a few weeks prior and wasn't familiar with the area (Only grocery and nasty nail place that gave me the infection). I have learned my lesson! I hope someone in the area investigates this company's practices! Company is based out of Oklahoma City. The billing company people are nasty!!!! Trash pit. The only person who was semi professional and kind was the lady who checked me in. The nurse was rude af, didn't even greet me or ask how I was feeling. The place was literally empty but after I explained to them my issue which apparently wasnt emergent enough for them, they told me to just go see my PCP. I told them my PCP office advised I go to the ER in the first place because they didn't have any available appointments for weeks and my symptoms were potentially dangerous and only getting worse. Then they tried to charge me almost $200 for a simple prescription, instead of charging my insurance and charging me a copay like everywhere else does. I was so pissed when I left. They were literally standing around on their phones, not doing anything but couldn't assist me with even a simple prescription because it wasn't "emergent". They claimed that I didn't need any blood work done but when I went to another ER later that day they said my red blood cell count was so low they were surprised I hadn't passed out already. Highly dissatisfied with this place, not only for the terrible service but also for the complete lack of medical accountability or responsibility. I mean seriously I could have died smh. Doctors are supposed to help ppl, if your only interested in lazing around and scamming ppl out of there hard earned money, find a different profession. read more

I took my son in for an ingrown toe nail that had gotten out of control. The entire staff gave us excellent service. Everyone was super friendly and very comforting. I couldn't stop bragging to my co-workers about the services and since we all have the same insurance they all pretty much thanked me for letting them know about this place that takes our insurance and is open 24 hours. I was so happy to find this place when I was so sick. They got me right in and took excellent care of me. Dr. Fagan was very caring and took the time to sit down and talk to me and my mom about my illness and my after care. When I first went to Surepoint I was really impressed. Dr. Wingate the medical director was the best. However after my visit with her I would go back occasionally and I was so disappointed. Last month I went there and I was having chest congestion, the doctor I just remember his last name started with a B not only did he not performance X-ray to see what was going on he told me to take Claritin-D which I didn't know was not good for me because I have high blood which was noted in my records & he wrote a prescription for it even though it's over the counter. That was maybe 3 of 4 bad experiences at Surepoint but that is one of two that stick out. The worst one was 1 week ago when I went for tingling in hands & feet & headaches & chest discomfort. The nurse could not find a vein & after trying 3 or 4 times she hit a nerve in my arm to the point that my finger involuntarily jumped because she hit a nerve. She apologized but that was it for me. I will never , ever go there again. If I knew I could see Dr. Wingate I would go but then I really don't know how competent some of the nurses are. By the way the lady who performed the scan on my head because of the headaches, she was great. read more

Went to surepoint because after having a very wet cough for about a week I knew I would probably need to be seen by doctor and have a chest X-ray. I had flu b a month prior. Doctor Edwards came in listened to my chest and walked out. A few minutes later the front desk guy came in and said I needed an iv, breathing treatment and a complete blood work up as well as an X-ray and cash price would be 2700. I asked why I could not have an X-ray first to determine if I even have pneumonia. They said it wasn't protocol. That you had to have all or nothing. I said I knew that wasn't protocol and that the doctor didn't even tell me what he suspected. I would like to speak to him. So next comes the nurse who basically says the same thing. I said no thank you. I will go where they aren't just trying to price gouge me. She said if I did t take the treatment there would be no charge....that's kinda suspicious in itself I would think. Went to minor emergency of denton where I should have gone to begin with. Saw Dr. Blankenau who listened to my chest, did another flu test and get this....did a chest X-ray! I do not have pneumonia! I do t have the flu...I do have Bronchitis. He prescribed an antibiotic and a cough syrup. It cost 280 total. Shame on you Surepoint! I will report you to the board of health and will make sure you get the worse rating possible! What happened to your Hippocratic oath? Do no harm! read more

I cut my finger while cooking, and they took my information and had me in an examining room in less than 10 minutes and stitched up and gone in about an hour, which was about the time I had expected to wait just to be treated. DO NOT GO HERE. after billing my insurance company almost $7,000 for my visit I was told I had 2 broken toes which they "buddy taped" together. a subsequent visit to my regular orthopedist revealed a seriously broken bone in my foot. my Ortho said "I don't know why they taped your toes together, they are not broken." more x-rays, months in a boot and my foot is still not healed. why, you ask? because every step I took with those taped toes re-broke the bone. I talked to Surepoint and they were oh, so concerned. I asked for (1) my 3 co-pays back, (2) the balance I owed my Ortho and (3) the cost of Ortho shoes. they sent me $30!!!! I guess they were only concerned about this review. BTW, they pestered me DAILY to leave a good review after my initial visit. good luck Surepoint. the next letter you get will be from my attorney. why they could not read a simple x-ray is beyond me. I could clearly see the broken bone myself at my ortho's office. I would not have revisited this review had they not screwed me AGAIN! But everyone needs to see this. read more
