My friends and I wanted to try out an escape room, and we ended up doing all 3 in one day! It's also awesome that it's 20% off to make another reservation after completing an escape room. What kept bringing us back was not only the exciting rooms but also the amazing and fun staff! Shout out to Olivia for being our game master for all 3 sessions! She is so helpful, positive, and encouraging, and such a good sport. She made the escape room experience that much better! Now onto each escape room. Jack the Ripper - definitely great for those who like thriller themes. The puzzles needed a lot of thinking and creativity. Definitely good for detective-minded. I would recommend for smaller-sized groups (3-6). Escape Thai Prison - it's fun to think like a criminal for an hour, haha! The puzzles needed a lot of observational skills. Good for criminal-minded. I would recommend for at least 4 participants. Alice in Wonderland - my personal favorite. The puzzles were extremely creative and required lots of teamwork. Good for attentive and detail-oriented people. I would recommend for larger-sized groups of at least 6 participants. If you have a small group and end up getting added to another group, don't sweat it! My group of 3 was added to another group of 3 for Alice in Wonderland, and it was such a blessing to have so many brains and hands working together to solve the puzzles. The Workshop School is a Philly public high school, and this quarter my seniors are creating their own Escape Rooms in our class. As the students learn about puzzles, codes, and the requirements for an amazing escape room, we reached out to Vee at MindEscape so that the students could experience a professional quality escape room. Vee was super helpful, and worked very hard to get the logistics for our visit perfect. Together we hammered out 3 mornings for our 80 seniors to come and experience their rooms. When we arrived, both game masters were awesome, had great energy, and got our group of students excited and motivated to head in to the rooms(not an easy task). Both Jack the Ripper, and Escape from a Thai Prison were amazing. The students were super challenged but were also able to be successful, had a blast, and nearly every student wanted to return and complete the other room that they didn't experience. Most importantly, the students were able to see and experience a whole series of amazing puzzles, scenarios, and rooms, that jogged their creativity and directed their thinking as to how we would create our own escape room in our classroom. Overall, I can't say enough about how helpful the staff was, and also at how fun and creative the rooms were. An easy 5 stars! read more

I had two out of town guests and took them to the Thai Prison Escape room. I purchased the tickets a month or so in advance and I was so excited to surprise them as I knew neither had ever been to an escape room experience. I was looking for a team-building/bonding experience, however, when we arrived there were 4 other people that were going to share the time slot with us (which is customary if you do not have a large group). That is fine, but two of the four were eight-year old boys. Needless to say, without going into detail, the experience was not the best. I am giving 5 stars for the concept, difficulty, originality and the excellent management. My friends and I wanted to book the next time slot for Jack the Ripper alone if it was available so that we could have a truer experience, however, within 30 minutes five people booked and we did not want to do it with strangers. The manager felt bad about our experience and offered a partial refund. I definitely did not expect that as she did not have to do that. I was extremely grateful for her kindness. I will definitely be back for Jack the Ripper, but will bring more friends so that we can be alone :) read more

My boyfriend and I decided to do this because we wanted to do a different kind of date and I was interested in trying an escape room. We chose the Thai Prison escape because its difficulty rating was moderate. Our game master changed into a military uniform, handcuffed us, and led us into two adjacent prison cells. No other people had signed up, so it was just us. We then had one hour to get free. At first, it seemed impossible, because the cell door were locked magnetically and electronically and the cells were so bare. But we scrambled about (you're going to have to be able to crawl if you want to this challenge) and started finding things. Our game master dropped us hints from time to time when we got frustrated, but he mostly let us work things out on our own. When we finally burst out of jail, it was quite exhilarating. We took slightly over an hour to solve it (conveniently, the prison bus broke down on its way to cart us off forever, so we got an extra ten minutes--so nice of them!), and we learned a lot about each other and how we work together. This experience, from start to finish, was an absolute blast! Seriously, I have only wonderful things to say about MindEscape's Thai Prison Room. YOU HAVE TO TRY IT (THAI IT?!?) RIGHT AWAY! We didn't get out (and having done a few escape rooms around Philly, I can be a pretty sore loser when I don't cross the finish line), but that didn't matter at all in this case. Our game-master (and arresting officer) Vee explained that we were so close to solving the final puzzle. More importantly, she was there for us with useful clues every time we got stuck, and the way she delivered our clues fit the theme perfectly. All of the puzzles were cleverly done. Some were very intuitive, and others required more creative outside-the-box thinking, but in the end they all made perfect sense and each felt so original against the previous puzzles we'd done. If you want an hour filled with thrills and chills, plus a lot of laughs along the way, this is the place for you. Book your spot ASAP!!! read more

Our MindEscape visit was superb, from start to finish. We had 10 teenagers and one teacher in our group, so we had the whole Thai prison to ourselves. Booking the room online was easy, and our game master, Isabella, was friendly, enthusiastic, and got our teens and teacher in game mode right from the start. The Thai prison decor, scenery, and props are realistic and appealing -- they really set the mood. This game reflects a lot of thought, planning, care, and a real love of escape room gaming by the MindEscape staff. It's sufficiently challenging without being frustrating. The suspense and excitement of solving individual challenges that build up to the great escape are exhilarating! Only two of us -- one student and the teacher -- had ever done an escape room adventure before (at other venues), so we had an eager group that got more and more into the experience with every minute. We made it out with 4 minutes to spare and will be back soon for "Jack The Ripper"! read more

***Absolutely recomend trying their rooms!!!*** My group went for their Alice room and we had an absolute blast. The room was incredible, all the puzzles were fun and very hands on, and there was plenty to keep us all busy the entire time. Our GM Kate was awesome in keeping things flowing smoothly and making sure we stayed on track. We came back a week later to do their Jack room, and we had yet another awesome time. My group found the Jack room to be more time consuming, but the puzzles were fun and took some out of the box thinking. The room itself had some super interesting decorations and props, and the atmosphere was indeed pretty creepy. Our GM Dill was incredible in keeping the mood light, and giving us helpful and guided hints. We escaped both rooms, and are looking forward to trying their Prison room!! read more

My family and i did the jack the ripper room for my sister's 13th birthday. Believe that they are telling the truth about the difficulty level for this themed room.... DIFFICULT for sure but soooooooo fun! We had a really good time. Our escape master was definitely helpful and fun and informative the entire time. I'm drawing a blank on his name, but has a beard. Anyways, he was great. I 10000% recommend MindEscape to anyone who asked what's a good escape room to do in philly. I'm absolutely coming back to do the Escape from Thai Prison themed room. It's a less difficult room so this time I'm hoping we won't need as many clues hahaha. Oh and we escaped with exactly 12 SECONDS left!!! How insane was that. We have done escape rooms all over the country so wasn't expecting much when we spotted this place while having lunch across the street. We looked it up and The reviews sounded good so gave it a try. The people who ran our rooms, Nat and Olivia were great. We booked one room and decided to do another room right after because it was so fun and they made it very entertaining! The puzzles were fun but still challenging and overall I would highly recommend this place. And to the owners of this place I would like to state that Nat and Olivia interaction made this experience a 5 star. We have done well over 70 escape rooms across country and only in 3 other escape rooms did the staff compare to these two. Thanks again for giving our group a great time. We went as a group of 3 in June 2022 to do the Alice in Wonderland challenge. Speaking only to that challenge, a group of 3 was adequate to complete it but we barely finished it within the timeframe. It had a good variety of challenges and it is a bit difficult without some teamwork. 4-5 might be the sweet spot, over that I think there is not enough activities for people to all work on. Our host Olivia was very friendly, kept us updated on time, and gave us hints when we had trouble. We came from out of town and found the experience very enjoyable. Would definitely come again. First time going to an escape room and can I tell you it was mind blowing. My family and I attempted to escape from the Thai Prison. I guess I am still locked up since we didnt make it out. Lol! The room set up was amazing and just when we thought we made it out there was another challenge to keep us guessing. The game master, Alex was the best! He maintained his role throughout our whole game. I will definitely be going back to tackle the other games. This Escape Room is AMAZING!!! The theme of all three escape rooms (Jack the Ripper, Thai prison, and Alice in Wonderland) are very well-thought, creative, unique, and thrilling. Had a great time with our group of friends solving the Jack the Ripper room. It was challenging without being impossible. Great, tense atmosphere, good narrative, and a need for teamwork. Our game master Dill was friendly, helpful, accommodating. I have been to many escape rooms and this is one of the best! One suggestion I'd like is to maybe give groups a sign that says if we escaped or not in pictures with the time taken to solve! Because it would be fun to know the success rate of rooms. We look forward to solving Thai Prison and Alice in Wonderland next!!!! read more

We were already super excited by the theme of the room (Jack the Ripper) and our experience was brought to a new level by our Game Master, Nat! She was incredible and was super helpful while also just leading us to what we were already figuring out. She was super personable and the room was tricky as we were only 3 people but I would absolutely give our experience more than a 5 star rating if I could. My group walked in, looking for something to do on a Friday night. We were told the Alice in Wonderland room was available, so we tried it out. Everyone working there was following Covid guidelines and the rooms were all disinfected prior to us challenging it. The Alice in Wonderland escape was fairly challenging and fun, my group was able to clear it with about 5 minutes to spare. Our Game Master, Olivia, was amazing. She was attentive and quick to help us if we had any issues or questions. Definitely going to come back to try other rooms in the future! read more

It was amazing! I have always been interested in escape rooms but didn't think wheelchair-accessible rooms existed. Mind Escape's Thai Prison is wheelchair friendly and does not feel and the storyline is still challenging. Olivia, our game master, was wonderful and I felt like she was rooting for us. A big plus for me is that service dogs in training are welcome, though some aspects may be overwhelming for them, just something to keep in mind. Please consider making the other stories accessible because I want to come back and play some more. read more

I brought a team of our company's leaders and they had an amazing time! it was not only fun but also challenging. they worked together, stimulating their thought process and making them think outside the box. it provided me a rare opportunity to observe the way they work together and I am sure it will benefit us moving forward. couldn't believe the level of thought and creativity that was put into this room. definitely a WOW!!! can't wait to see the second room!!! read more
