This studio is the best. The instructors are so motivating and emphasize form. It's such a fun studio. Stefanny and Megan are so amazing.

If I didn't have Melody teaching from the start, I'm not sure that I would be as hooked on yoga as I am now! I love many sports, but try to find time for yoga as it helps my flexibility, agility, and my mood! With abellaYoga, the focus isn't only on the practice itself - it's what you can take from the practice into your daily life. Melody has taught me to try to live all moments to the fullest, and to really appreciate day to day presence of mind. I "avoided" yoga for many years - I always thought it was an "easy" workout. I didn't think I would be as satisfied as I am after a good weights session, or a nice run. Boy, I couldn't have been more mistaken. I get a great workout each time I see Melody, and I know her teachings are carrying over into my other fitness activities!

After one private class in my home with Melody, I am hooked! I've taken a few of her public classes before, but found a one-on-one session so much more beneficial. Her teaching style is tailored to each client, and she offers guidance and encouragement to make the most of your session. Melody's attention to detail and focus on form are spot on. The slightest adjustment can take each pose or exercise to the next level. Melody's knowledge of yoga and her excitement in sharing her skills make each session a true workout... physically, mentally and spiritually. I am excited to learn more!

Oh what do I say about EYD and Erin…read more... Anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE beer. I also love yoga. So when I'm able to combine the two, well, it's pretty awesome for me. I had followed EYD's Facebook page for a while, but was never able to make it to a class. Finally the stars aligned (all 5 of them) and I took my very 1st EYD class at Fair Winds. Not to lay on the puns, but I was hooked (line and sinker). Since then I've been to Erin's classes at Sehkraft (RIP), Mister Days, Tysons Biergarten (RIP?), Courthaus Social, New District, and even DC Brau when she covered for another teacher. Erin's classes are truly all level. Some instructors will say they are, but then never give you variations on certain positions or chide you for sticking to your particular practice. Erin is not one of those teachers. She has this innate ability to make you feel comfortable and welcome. But my favorite thing about her classes is the cheese factor. She makes jokes and silly comments...example at the Spookasana class (that's Halloween themed yoga) the position known as "cat/cow" became "Screeching cat/Howling werewolf". IT IS ok not to take yourself too seriously sometimes. I personally believe that true balance is equal parts focus and cheese. I recommend EYD's classes to everyone. And hey, if you end up trying one out and see me there be sure to say hi! As Erin always says, "Namaste and cheers!"

I would highly suggest Eat Yoga Drink events for those who are new to the DC Metro. It is an amazing way to do something that is good for your mind, body, and soul while having just enough fun! I have met the nicest people at these events and discovered some pretty amazing venues. Eventbrite makes signing up and schedule announcements a breeze. These classes often include a tasty beverage included in the price, making it a great value!

Terrible experience, honestly the worst I've ever had with a gym. Stay away from this place…read more I have never experienced such rude, unprofessional customer service in my life. I've been a member for about 6 months and actually enjoyed the classes and instructors, but the management completely ruined it. About two weeks ago, I got very sick and called the studio to ask if they could cancel my class as a courtesy and return the credit. I was clearly told yes over the phone. Two days later, nothing had been done. When I followed up, the manager, Marley, didn't even try to look into it, no apology, no effort to check. She immediately said that's "not what was notated," claimed I had been told no, and even accused me of being disrespectful, which is completely untrue. She wasn't even part of the original call. After pushing back, they eventually returned that credit, but the way it was handled was already unacceptable. Two days ago, I went in for a class. After the class, I calmly told the staff I want to cancel my membership because of how this was handled. I did not yell, I simply said I'm done with the studio. Yesterday, during a follow-up call, Marley escalated things further and claimed she had "seen footage" of me coming into the studio and yelling at staff. This is completely untrue, and no proof was provided for this claim. Then came the cancellation process. They brought up strict policies and additional fees, even though the only reason I'm leaving is how I was treated. After another few minutes of complete unprofessionalism from the so called studio manager, I was told my membership would be canceled and that I cannot come back to the studio again. The biggest issue is that they refused to let me use a class I had already paid for. I had a class already scheduled in the app, and I've attached screenshots showing both the scheduled class and how the app blocks bookings when you don't have credits. Marley told me that was "a credit for the next cycle," and since I'm not renewing, I have no credits left. That makes no sense. The app does not allow you to schedule a class unless you already have credits, which clearly shows this was a class I had already paid for. At this point, I don't even want to argue anymore or step into that place again. The most frustrating part is that at no point did the manager try to handle this professionally. There was no "let me look into this," no attempt to resolve the issue, just immediate defensiveness, interruptions, and accusations. Also, for a studio that charges a premium per class, there is zero flexibility or understanding. When I was sick, I did the responsible thing by not showing up, yet I was expected to lose a ~$40 class for something completely out of my control. What is the expectation, come in sick and risk everyone else? Between the lack of accountability, the way customers are spoken to, and the rigid policies with no consideration for real life situations, this experience has been extremely disappointing. If you read other reviews, you will see ongoing complaints about management. Based on my experience, I fully expect any response to this review to deflect responsibility rather than address what actually happened, just as it did when I tried to resolve this directly.

They hold these events on a few weekends throughout the month. There's also kitten and puppy yoga, and the animals are all available for adoption! I'm hoping to join one soon. These events sell out quickly, so make sure to follow them for updates. The event took place at Faith Lutheran Church, which has plenty of parking. The goats are absolutely adorable and so entertaining, making their funny noises while running around. Everyone gets a chance to take a picture with a goat on their back, and we even got to hold the goats (you can even request certain poses, if they're doable, of course!) You can feed the goats as well. My friends and I snapped a ton of photos and videos - it was so wholesome and funny. Make sure to bring your own yoga mat, water, and athletic clothes you don't mind getting dirty. Keep in mind that the goats aren't potty trained, so they might have a little accident, but they clean it up right away. All the goats were super friendly, which made it perfect for a fun birthday event for me. The event lasted about an hour for $40, and I even made a reel to capture the fun!
