Min-ah is excellent at her craft and I was so glad to have her do hair and makeup for me and my bridesmaids. Booking with her was super easy and straightforward. We did a trial the week of my wedding and I was so impressed with her work - I had no doubt that I was in good hands (also, the process was fun since I've never had my hair and makeup done professionally before!). When it came time for the wedding day, everything went smoothly and we were even a bit ahead of schedule. Min-ah was flexible and able to fit in an extra up-do for my mother-in-law on the spot. She really has a great understanding of what makeup and hairstyles suit each person - all of my bridesmaids' up-dos were perfection. I was looking for a make-up artist who had experience doing hair and make-up on East Asian features. I am so glad I found Min-Ah through online recommendations! She was super communicative throughout the entire planning process and very flexible with our changing needs. I had a large, diverse bridal party (11 bridesmaids, myself, and 2 moms!). Initially, I only needed hair and make-up for half of us. Closer to the wedding, some of the other bridesmaids decided they wanted full services as well. Min-Ah was very willing to accommodate our changing hair and make-up needs and work with us to find a schedule that would work best for everyone. She was able to match each of our individual styles, while adding a calming and fun presence to the getting ready process. I would definitely recommend Min-Ah to all brides and bridemaids! read more

I am so happy that I chose Min-ah Campos to do my hair and makeup and she truly made me feel beautiful on my wedding day! She is incredibly sweet, professional, and so responsive! She's lightning quick with replying to emails and so accommodating and friendly in her responses. We started out with a trial for one makeup look and one hairstyle at my home (she travels to you for no extra charge if your home is within 50 miles from where she lives in Somerset, MA; the trial itself for both hair and makeup cost $200). It was definitely helpful to do a trial because as someone who doesn't regularly wear makeup and exclusively wears my hair down or in a ponytail, I didn't have a clue about what would look best. The trial helped me to pinpoint specifically what I liked and didn't like--it's definitely different when you see something on Pinterest versus on your own head! Looking back, I would highly recommend doing your trial (any trial--regardless of who it's with) in front of a mirror, or asking Min-ah for her handheld mirror to check the progress as you go and to let her know what you like and don't like. I've found through my experiences with her at the wedding that she's incredibly responsive and patient. She truly wants to make sure you are happy with how you look! However, during the trial, we did everything in the living room without any mirrors. Although I wasn't quite satisfied with how it turned out, I didn't feel bold enough to ask Min-ah to undo or redo anything since it was all done. (Though I'm sure she would have helped me troubleshoot if I'd spoken up because she's so sweet!) Honestly, I felt a little anxious between the trial and the wedding because Min-ah's interpretation of a natural look still felt like too much for me and I didn't feel like myself. However, I consulted family and friends to help me figure out what I wanted to keep or change for the wedding, and I trusted that once these specifics were communicated--less foundation (and not quite as pale), less contouring, more blush, way less eyebrow pencil, shorter/more natural false eyelashes, and a braided half-up-do instead of an up-do--that Min-ah would be able to create the look I wanted. (And she totally did!) On the morning of the wedding, I let Min-ah know what I wanted and as I followed along with the progress using her handheld mirror, I was able to give Min-ah feedback and she always listened intently and worked with me until I was happy. Even when I had a hard time explaining why I didn't like something and when I had no idea what specifically needed to be fixed in order for me to be happy with the look, Min-ah never made me feel rushed and she never showed a hint of impatience. She worked her magic and in the end, I was thrilled with both my hair and makeup and they lasted all night. (The only exception and the one tip I have is I'd recommend bringing your own lip color. The product Min-ah used was very creamy and came off at the slightest touch, so I switched to my own preferred lipstick.) read more

She is a very talented hair/makeup artist especially for wedding based on my experience. On our wedding, she did the hair and makeup for my spouse, our parents, and all of my in-laws. They were all highly satisfied her performance and kindness. Each of us had their own demands, and she was so nice to make them all happened. We started out our makeup and hair 9am and finished up almost a few minutes before our wedding at 4pm, and she never lost a smile on her face in any moments. Min-Ah is talented, warm and wonderful to work with for all my makeup and hairstyling needs for my wedding. Let me preface this by saying that I've had my makeup done several times by other professionals for various events, but I usually ended up feeling like I was wearing a mask of sorts and uncomfortable with so much product on my face, or else felt that the color tones for both the foundation and eyeshadow were a little off. However, Min-Ah did such a Fantastic job for my wedding that I feel I should be taking some lessons from her for future reference! My makeup on my wedding day was natural, brought out the best of my features and made me feel comfortable in my skin, which is a lot to ask for as I have a very basic daily makeup routine. Min-Ah made the call to go with a 'softer' look without my having to request for it (of course after letting me know her recommendation on the day). I liked my trial makeup as I had requested for a natural, Korean-style makeup look, which usually comes with coral tones that generally suits my skin color. However, I LOVED the subtle, soft colors she chose for my wedding makeup and just felt so relieved on my way to my wedding venue it was as if one huge burden had been lifted off my shoulders. She also did a wonderful job with makeup for my mother (who has always been 100% unhappy with every single one of her previous makeup experiences for weddings or formal events but was happy with Min-Ah's application of her makeup), for my bridesmaids who looked stunning on the day (including one who got PLENTY of compliments as she usually doesn't wear makeup but Min-Ah made her look gorgeous :)) and she even covered up the scratch on my little flower girl's face without charging us extra. She was also very accommodating with my last-minute request to change my hairstyle from a full up-do to a half-updo style as I wanted a more subtle look. As we had quite a few people who needed their makeup done, she brought along her assistant to help with the hairstyling and we loved her work too! Min-Ah was fun to talk to, very organized and well-prepared, uses good quality makeup products, very talented, and she's gorgeous herself! I am so happy with my experience with Min Ah Campos! I'd been a bridesmaid in several weddings prior to my own and knew of other lower-budget makeup artists/hair stylists, but every penny was well worth the level of professionalism and artistic skill that Min Ah provided. She is truly the best option for anyone who wants to achieve a naturally glamorous look that suits Asian features, though I am certain that her skills are not limited to only Asian clientele or females. My bridal party included a diverse range of Asian and non-Asian faces and my handsome husband looked as dashing as a movie star thanks to the subtle makeup that Min Ah applied. His skin looked flawless and sculpted in real life and especially in photos on our wedding day. Despite initial trepidation, even my husband is a fan now~ We had a larger bridal party of which initially 6 people were to receive makeup services and 7 were to receive hair services. Min Ah and her friend (who comes to help with hair for larger groups) were super accommodating when several of my bridesmaids and a flower girl asked last minute to get their makeup/hair done after seeing how beautiful other members of the bridal party looked. I appreciated Min Ah's flexibility and ability to create the look that each member of my bridal party and I were going for, with the one one unifying factor being ethereal "lit from within" glowing skin that steered clear of greasy or tacky. Most of all, I loved that she was confident enough in her professional judgment to gracefully steer us away from requests that ultimately wouldn't be the most flattering. This was especially true for my hair, which ended up looking different but much more flattering on me and suited the style of both my wedding gown and hanbok (traditional Korean clothing). Finally, it was a huge bonus that Min Ah is a fluent speaker of Korean and English since it made it easy for my mom, bridesmaids, and myself to communicate our thoughts and hopes for our special day. read more
