If you're looking for one of the best dinner views in St. Thomas, Mims Seaside Bistro definitely delivers. The ambiance is hard to beat--dining right by the water with the ocean breeze and a beautiful sunset feels like a postcard moment. The menu was decent but definitely on the pricey side. I had my heart set on the crab legs, but unfortunately, they were out. I ended up going with the lobster instead. I chose the small size, but was surprised to be charged the highest price point, which felt more in line with a medium. The lobster itself was decent--not bad, but nothing to rave about either. We did enjoy the garlic bread though! When the bill came, we couldn't help but feel like the overall value didn't quite match the price point. Food and service were both average--nothing that stood out in a big way. That said, if you're here for the scenic evening experience and not necessarily wowed by the food, this might be the spot for you.

View from table

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE BEATS DECENT FOOD I tripped and fell down the stairs while trying to be kind and make conversation with the staff who was sitting at a table at the bar on a slow night. I had no clue there was stairs down to the bathroom, so I stepped down and almost broke my ankle when I tripped and fell. I continually asked for ice from the server and was never asked why when icing my ankle because they clearly didn't care. And then while leaving I suggested to the hostess (whom was a woman who looked about 60 years old) that people be told there are steps to the bathroom and that no one told me about the steps which led to me ultimately to trip and fall and no one helped. She then raised her voice at me saying "well maybe no one saw you!" LOL says the lady who walked past me when I fell (please I encourage the owners to look at the cameras).... Again... make sure you to go to the bathroom before you go there and as long as that's happening I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time!!

Delicious food and a breathtaking view! This cozy little spot was a great highlight to our visit to St Thomas. The staff was amazing..super friendly and very knowledgeable. Now, the $6 bread basket left a lot to be desired and there was a lack of vegan options..other than that, it was great!! We will definitely visit again!!

Amazing view, great service, and good food. This is our second visit and each time, we've had a blast. I really enjoy the curry stuffed lobster and their pasta. We wanted to try other dishes but returned to our usual. We'll be back when we're on the island in a few weeks again.

Crab dip

Lucky us to be staying right by Mim's during our stay on St. Thomas! You can't beat the location on the water with a nice patio and indoor area to choose from. We had three fantastic dinners there. The food and the servers each night were top notch. Excellent seafood dishes and the drinks were wonderful too. Highly recommend any of their seafood pastas, the lobster dishes and the crab dip. If we get back to St. Thomas, Mim's will be our first stop. Thank you to the wonderful staff from the Moneymakers!

This was my first time at Mim's and I thought it was really good! The ladies that work there are kind and work very hard. The calamari appetizer was great, the surf n turf was great and the key lime pie! Would definitely come back!

I got the whole fried snapper with native sauce, and man was it delicious. Maybe the best thing I ate on my trip, and I had a number of meals in St John. Really nice fish and crispy and delicious. Nice sauce. I tried one of the homemade juices and it went perfectly with the fish. I wish this place was on St John! But would return next time I'm in Crown Bay. Note that it did take a while so order ahead or just be ready to wait for maybe 45min depending on when you arrive. So just ask how long it'll take. Nice staff too.

At G&D, you can either order fresh seafood to take home or dine in. We chose to sit down and enjoy a meal. We started with two drinks: Passion Fruit and Tamarind Passion Fruit. Both were refreshing, but I personally preferred the Tamarind blend. For our meal, we ordered the Stuffed Lobster and Shrimp--beautifully plated, as you can see below. I had the shrimp, and it definitely hit the spot. My cousin enjoyed the lobster and said it was just as flavorful. The pricing was fair for the portion and quality. The atmosphere was welcoming, and our waitress was friendly and attentive. You can also get a feel for the vibe from the photo of the restaurant's interior below. Will I return? Yes, I would--but next time, I'll try something different on the menu!

As noted in my last review, our plan going in was to not eat all day so we could enjoy the 11-course chefs tasting menu. So glad we did! 11 perfectly executed small plates, each one fantastic on its own, but as an almost two-hour presentation, heaven on a plate! The restaurant itself is very nice, cool bar area in the back. Nice dining area. But, counter seating is where it's at for a front row seat into the kitchen. Staff is first rate, fun, happy, on the ball! IGNORE reviews complaining about prices and portion sizes! Those are simply IGNORant folks who didn't check out the place before dining there. Blue 11 is foodie, gastro perfection. Pricey yes, small portions yes, but for those who truly appreciate fine dining and expecting a chef's talent, this is a must do in St. Thomas. Easily one of the top two or three restaurants in the USVIs! Simply outstanding! Highly recommend!

This trip…read moretook me to St. Thomas, and being an island community, it also meant seafood, which I love and is hard to come by in Phoenix, AZ. The Fish Market sits on the beach at the bottom of the Elysian Hotel. While you can walk there, it's a long, winding road through the hotel grounds. While I want to say we were met with a warm island welcome, instead, we were met by a grouchy young lady who seemed less than happy to be working or enjoying her day. On a positive note, our waitress, Kieke, was delightful and sweet and a complete opposite from the hostess. As for the food, let me be honest when I say it was one of the top two seafood meals I've had in my life. I got the crab-stuffed grouper with broccolini and couscous. It was cooked perfectly and had a sauce that was delicious! At the end of the day, this was a great experience, and if you can get down to the restaurant (which is a hike), you will absolutely enjoy the meal and ask for Kieke and ignore the rude hostess.
