I strolled down to this beautiful black owned restaurant with so much character and Jamaican vibes. I went inside and was greeted and after pondering over the menu for a bit. The guy behind the counter made me a customized meal from a few different options from the menu. I didn't want anything too heavy because it was mid day. This was my solo date with perfectly fried fish under a bed of lettuce, plantains, special sauce and Peach Tea to wash it down. I was personally served the entire time I dined by the chef. I toured the entire restaurant and saw the upstair space which holds small events like poetry and spoken word along with private parties. I was completely blown away with the outdoors oasis which provides island vibes and great music. I will definitely return and can't wait to participate in some of their events.

The sandwich wasn't cut fully down the middle, the layers were too thick, and the sourdough was much closer to a typical white bread than a fresh sourdough. It had no tang or crunch. It was fine for the sandwich--I just don't think it tasted like sourdough! I didn't try the coffee or baked goods but both looked pretty mediocre. I didn't see the baristas weighing espresso before pulling shots which shows me that drink quality probably varies widely from drink to drink. The inside and outside are cute. I liked the window seating.

And regarding the Greek salad, what can I say it was a Greek salad. That too was also a big serving and it was good. I only ate half of it because I was so full from the Mousaka.
